Samsung Galaxy S Duos - Specifications. "Samsung GT-S6102": characteristics, description, pros and cons A SIM card is used in mobile devices to store data that certifies the authenticity of mobile service subscribers

Ace Duos (GT-S6802) appeared on store shelves five years ago. Buyers accepted the novelty quite enthusiastically. The manufacturer of the new model not only continued the established traditions, but also supplemented it with new developments. First of all, the device got the opportunity to work with two SIM-cards, which was not available to the owners of the "older" gadgets of this line. Also updated version operating system. What else is interesting in samsung galaxy Ace Duos? A detailed review of the gadget will help answer this question.

Delivery set and packaging

The Korean company has produced many budget models. Almost all of them are in high demand. The reason for this was decent performance, combined with a beautiful design. The manufacturer has not changed its traditions by developing the Samsung Galaxy Ice Duas smartphone. Designers began to attract the attention of potential buyers with a packaging box. On a snow-white background, a photograph of the device stands out clearly. Below it is the name of the model, printed in large letters. The company logo is in the upper left corner. All lettering is in blue. Its combination with white looks gentle and attractive. On the side face, the buyer will be able to see brief characteristics.

Inside the box is a set of accessories, corresponding to entry-level gadgets. Of course, the manufacturer provides a battery and a power adapter. There is also a USB cable that can be used to connect Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos (GT-S6802) to a PC. Instructions and a warranty card are included in the package. There is also a wired stereo headset, but rather weak.

Design

At the first glance at the Ace Duos device, branded features immediately become noticeable. The design can be safely called typical, no different from previous models. The buyer still has the same universal design, a body with rounded edges and corners. The Samsung Galaxy Ice Duas smartphone weighs 122 grams. Phone height - 112.7 mm, width - 61.5 mm. It doesn't look very big, but you can't call it small either. Such sizes, according to users, are quite convenient. You can carry the gadget both in the pocket of trousers and shirts. But the thickness of the smartphone by modern standards is large - a little more than 11 mm. However, it is worth paying tribute to the fact that five years ago such technologies were not yet used that made it possible to create ultra-thin gadgets.

The front panel is 80% occupied by the screen. Below it is a control panel consisting of three keys: two of them are touch-sensitive, one is mechanical. There is no backlight. At the top is the speaker. Its hole is oval and elongated, covered with a chrome mesh. On the back panel only standard elements are displayed: a camera window and a stereo speaker. The flash is not provided by the developers. There is also a brand name here. The surface of the lid is glossy. It is quite slippery, so it is easy to drop the phone from your hands.

The power key is displayed on the right side face. It is very convenient to use it. It also performs a blocking function. On the opposite side is the volume rocker. Embossed button. In the upper and lower parts there are signs: "+" and "-". It protrudes slightly beyond the line of the case, so it is convenient to use it. Near the rocker there is a hole that is designed to attach the strap. The developers involved the upper and lower ends. The latter has a microUSB port and a microphone, and on the opposite side there is a standard headphone jack.

Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos (GT-S6802): display specifications

Each buyer selects a smartphone according to certain criteria. One of them is display characteristics. In this model, the diagonal size is three and a half inches. Given the dimensions of the phone itself, this solution can be considered optimal. The display resolution is small - only 480 × 320 px. Density - 165 pixels per inch. Production technology - TFT. Viewing angles and color reproduction are relatively good for such characteristics. The screen displays up to 16 million colors. On the street in sunny weather, using the phone will be somewhat difficult, as glare appears and clarity decreases. However, the information is still readable.

Automatic brightness and backlight settings are not provided by the developers. They must be changed manually. During a call, the screen locks itself. In order to make it active, a double touch is enough.

This model from Samsung supports the multi-touch function, designed for two simultaneous touches. The sensor is sensitive, the response is fast and clear. The screen is protected by a special layer of fiberglass. Its strength is not high enough, so it is very easy to scratch the surface.

Performance

Samsung GT-S6802 Galaxy Ace Duos is an entry-level mobile device. It follows from this that the hardware "stuffing" will not impress the buyer with high performance. Performance is provided by the Broadcom BCM21553 chipset. It is capable of operating at a minimum frequency of 312 MHz and a maximum frequency of 832 MHz. What do these processor indicators say? The user will have to abandon "heavy" games and resource-intensive applications. They simply won't start on the phone. Under heavy load, the device may freeze for a short time. In order to avoid malfunctions, it is recommended not to use multiple processes at the same time. The rest of the system functions without obvious problems. All everyday tasks (calls, messages, surfing) are carried out by the smartphone quickly and in full. The main thing is not to demand the impossible from the gadget.

Interface

Based this model on the platform of the popular operating system - "Android". By modern standards, version 2.3.6, although already considered obsolete, still allows the user to install a large number of software. The Korean manufacturer does not use “pure” Android. A branded shell is always superimposed on top of it. In this case, TouchWiz 4.0 will get acquainted Samsung owners Galaxy Ace Duos GT-S6802. System firmware will not cause problems for the user. All necessary files can be found on the official website.

The design of the main screen does not differ much from previous versions. At the top is a service line. On it, the user can see the battery level, network, clock and active connections. Clicking on it opens information about downloads, messages and other notifications. Options such as mute, GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi are also displayed here. All widgets are basic. The user has access to seven desktops. Elements for placement on them are selected individually. Missed events are displayed on the lock screen as special icons.

Battery specifications and battery life

Battery Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos GT-S6802 users undoubtedly refer to strengths of this device. Its small capacity (1300 mAh) may initially mislead the buyer. However, it must be understood that the smartphone uses a weak display and an energy-efficient platform that provides up to 520 hours of standby time. The battery is removable, made using lithium-ion technology. He is not afraid of reloading, rarely swells. With a 100% charge, you can talk for about 16 hours, only after this time the battery life will completely run out.

In combined mode, you can count on 2 days of work. In this case, the period will directly depend on the load. For example, if the user does not turn on Wi-Fi, music or games, then the battery capacity will last for 3-4 days.

Memory

It is important for potential buyers to know how much memory is used in the Samsung GT-S6802 Galaxy Ace Duos. This parameter is important not only for downloading and installing applications and other files, but also affects performance. An excellent indicator of performance is RAM. In the Korean gadget, it is limited to 512 MB. Unfortunately, this once again confirms that the capabilities of the platform are rather weak. Native memory is also not enough - 3 GB. It should be borne in mind that part of the storage is occupied by system files. Therefore, the developers have provided a way to expand using a 32 GB flash drive.

Camera Specifications

The modern consumer is already used to the fact that all smartphones are multifunctional. Therefore, the presence of a camera has not surprised anyone for a long time. The Samsung GT-S6802 Galaxy Ace Duos uses a 5-megapixel matrix. Unfortunately, there is no flash, which practically negates the possibility of taking pictures in low light, and completely excludes its operation in the dark. However, as a bonus, the manufacturer equipped the optics with autofocus, thanks to which the pictures are clear, blur is minimal.

The settings menu is standard. There are five photo sizes to choose from, from 5MP to 0.3MP. The maximum resolution is 2560 × 1920 px, the minimum is 640 × 480 px. There is a video mode. The recording is made in low quality - 640 × 480 px at a rate of 25 frames. Recording is done with sound (mono). This model is not capable of more.

basic settings

After purchasing the Samsung GT-S6802 Galaxy Ace Duos, the owner needs to set up the smartphone.

Conclusion

Summing up the review, we can highlight the strengths and weak sides Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos GT-S6802. The price of the gadget is definitely an advantage. You can buy a phone for an average of 6 thousand rubles. For such money, the user receives quality smartphone with excellent speaker, quite good camera, simple interface, long term work without recharging and support for two SIM-cards.

But the buyer should be prepared for the fact that this model does not show the best performance results. Weak processor, small volumes of integrated and random access memory, not a high resolution display will make you feel certain limitations. Model Ace Duos from Samsung is ideal only for an undemanding user.

The term "supersmartphone" owes its appearance to the HTC HD2 communicator, which became the first device on our market with a fast processor, large quantity RAM and a huge screen with high resolution. Now, in my opinion, in addition to the HD2 already mentioned above, only two super-smartphones are sold in Ukraine, this HTC Desire(I hope everyone has already read his review?) And the Samsung Galaxy S, which we will talk about now.

Specifications Samsung Galaxy S (GT-i9000)

If HTC Desire attracts attention primarily due to its software part ( HTC shell Sense, timely upgrade to latest versions Android), then the Samsung Galaxy S takes hardware. It is based on the Samsung Hummingbird S5PC110 processor, which integrates the ARM Cortex A8 computing core and graphics accelerator PowerVR SGX540. Samsung claims that this is the world's fastest ARM processor, and we have no reason not to believe this statement yet. But the phone's most striking (literally) feature is its Super AMOLED screen, which you can learn more about in our Samsung Wave (GT-S8500) review. So the technical samsung specifications Galaxy S look like this:

  • Ranges: GPRS/GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS/HSPA 900/2100.
  • Form factor: keyboardless monoblock.
  • Operating system: Google Android 2.1 (update to 2.2 will be available soon) with TouchWiz 3.0 interface.
  • Display: Super AMOLED, 480x800 pixels, 16 million colors, touchscreen (capacitive matrix).
  • Camera: 5 MP, autofocus, geotagging, video recording (1280x720/30p).
  • CPU: Samsung S5PC110A01 based on ARM Cortex A8 core, clocked at 1 GHz; integrated video accelerator PowerVR SGX540.
  • RAM: 512 MB.
  • Flash memory: 8 or 16 GB + microSDHC cards.
  • Multimedia features: MP3 player, FM receiver, video player (supports MPEG-4, Divx, Xvid, H.264), video editor, YouTube integration, Find service Music (similar to Track ID in Sony phones Ericsson).
  • Wireless technologies: Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 HS.
  • Interface connector: microUSB, 3.5 mm headphone output.
  • GPS: yes, A-GPS support, Google support Maps.

Samsung Galaxy S video review

Appearance and design features

Samsung Galaxy S has a large size, which is noted by everyone around. For example, my wife briefly described him in one word: “Shovel”. However, people with large hands will surely like its size. For me, at least, they did not cause any discomfort, especially since, thanks to their small thickness, the phone fits perfectly in a jeans pocket.

Outwardly, the Galaxy S seems a copy of the iPhone. But, unlike the iPhone, the body of the Samsung smartphone is frankly plastic (including a pseudo-metallic shiny frame around the screen, which looks like painted Chinese silver). Due to this, the weight of the device is small, at first acquaintance the device seems too light for such a solid size. In general, the materials do not cause the “wow effect” that I personally expected to get from a phone costing almost $ 800.

The back cover is covered with a nice pattern of colored (blue-green) circles hidden under a layer of transparent plastic.

Unfortunately, this plastic wears out even from simple carrying in a pocket, small scratches and abrasions appear on the cover, which, depending on the lighting, can look like light or dark spots. In general, nothing terrible, but, in my opinion, such trifles are unacceptable in an apparatus that confidently claims to be best Android smartphone 2010.

The layout of the buttons and connectors is quite standard: the connectors are on top, the double volume key is on the left, the power button (it is also the lock of the smartphone) is on the right.

Screen

As I already mentioned, the Galaxy S has a huge 4-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 480x800 pixels (16:9 aspect ratio). The size of the screen and the ability to adjust its brightness over a wide range make it possible to successfully use a smartphone to read texts from the screen.

In general, the brightness and color saturation of this screen today is unrivaled, although TFT displays are distinguished by more believable color reproduction and are able to display cleaner White color. It is not clear why, but the Galaxy S does not have an oleophobic coating on the screen (it has a place in the Samsung Wave), so it is quite difficult to remove dirt and fingerprints from the screen: they just smear, but do not disappear. You have to use wet wipes to clean the equipment. But in the Galaxy S, the screen is protected by a particularly durable aluminosilicate glass Gorilla Glass, so you don’t have to worry too much about its safety.

autonomy

The Samsung Galaxy S uses a large 5.55 Wh (1500 mAh) battery. In the conditions of the Kyiv MTS network with a small number of conversations, active use mobile internet(Twitter, Facebook, Push sync Email) and a certain number of games, the device is able to live exactly one working day, i.e. if in the morning I remove it from charging, then when I return home, I must immediately put it on charge again. Interestingly, Samsung Wave, built on the same hardware platform and equipped with the same battery, is able to live without recharging for two days in similar conditions.

I have a theory that the Android operating system itself is poorly optimized in terms of power consumption. This theory is also supported by the fact that earlier Acer Liquid e showed less time battery life than the Acer neoTouch S200 (these two smartphones also use the same platforms and batteries, but the former runs on Android and the latter runs on Windows Mobile 6.5).

Performance

Samsung Galaxy S performance with Android 2.1

As you might expect, the performance of the Samsung Galaxy S is at an excellent level, even the heaviest applications (i.e. games) just fly. Read more in our HTC Desire vs Samsung Galaxy S comparison. We can expect that after updating to Android 2.2, performance will still grow due to system optimization.

Firmware Features

On October 15, Samsung launched an official Galaxy update S to android version 2.2. The Scandinavian countries were the first to get “distributed”, the wave of updates has not yet reached the CIS, so currently the official Galaxy S is running Android 2.1 with the TouchWiz 3.0 shell installed on top of it.

There is no Cyrillic alphabet as a class in the contacts quick navigation bar and in the Phone app

One of the main disadvantages of Galaxy S is incomplete localization. There is no Cyrillic alphabet in the phone book in the quick navigation bar for contacts. In the "Phone" application, Cyrillic input is not provided in principle, which does not allow using the T9 search for contacts if their names are written in Russian or Ukrainian. The way out of this situation is to install free application Dialer One, so the problem is not fatal - and yet it is not clear why the manufacturer did not take care of this himself.

The phonebook, like Samsung Wave, is integrated with social networks Twitter and Facebook. Additional tabs “Events” and “Media” appear in the contact properties, where the content associated with this contact is collected from social networks(posts on Twitter, photos from Facebook). Social features work, but to a level HTC Sense do not hold up. Otherwise phone book standard for Android devices.

To enter text, you can use both the standard Samsung virtual keyboard and the Swype keyboard, which allows you to keep your finger on the screen when entering a word, but simply move it from letter to letter. Of course, Swype cannot correctly recognize words that are not in its dictionary, but if you just type a word, it will automatically be added to the dictionary. Switching the layout in Swype is also very convenient, just swipe vertically up from the bottom left corner of the virtual keyboard. The only negative is the lack of Ukrainian language support. The phone has an excellent FM tuner with a rare auto-off feature (those who like to fall asleep with headphones on will appreciate it), as usual there is an automatic search for stations, six stations can be added to favorites, they will be displayed as buttons on the main screen of the application.

Like other modern Samsung smartphones, Galaxy S out of the box supports playback of video files in WMV, DivX and H.264 formats, including those packed in an MKV container. The built-in music player supports playing files not only in MP3 and AAC formats, but also in much rarer OGG and FLAC. Unfortunately, I was unable to get the phone to correctly recognize FLAC tags on any of my extensive collection of files, and some files (which were known to be normal) played with noticeable stutters. Playing MP3 does not cause any problems, including tags. The sound quality is excellent, and the same (good) earplugs as with the Wave are supplied.

For a snack, let's leave the pre-installed ThinkFree application package designed to work with Microsoft Office documents.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy S uses a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and the ability to record HD-video (1280x720 pixels, 30 frames per second, progressive scan). Apparently, the module is similar to the one used in the already mentioned Wave. You can read more about photo quality in comparison with HTC Desire (there you will also find a link to a gallery of test shots). From myself I will only add that Samsung designers copied the iPhone so zealously that they decided to remove the camera button from the right side of the device. As a result, taking photographs help Galaxy S is almost as inconvenient as with HTC devices.

In the dry matter

As a result, our "super-smartphone" Samsung Galaxy S produces a rather contradictory impression. On paper, he has practically no equal, but in practice it turns out that everything is not so smooth. The low-quality case is a very serious drawback for an 800-dollar device, which, by definition, must have a fashion element (completely absent in the case of the Galaxy S). The declared support for FLAC actually works through a stub-deck, and localization shortcomings allow us to recommend the Galaxy S first of all to those users who like to dig into their phone and customize everything “for themselves”. For those who want to buy a smartphone and just use it, I personally recommend looking at HTC models. It is not yet known whether these shortcomings will be addressed in the update to Android 2.2. On the other hand, from the point of view of iron and especially Galaxy Screen The S is truly unrivaled on the market, so if you want the best and don't mind the need for a little file work, this machine is unlikely to disappoint you. 7 reasons to buy Samsung Galaxy S:

  • record performance to date (especially in 3D);
  • magic screen;
  • good quality built-in camera;
  • HD video recording at 30 frames per second;
  • playback of unconverted video "out of the box";
  • convenient FM radio;
  • An update to Android 2.2 is about to be available.

5 reasons not to buy Samsung Galaxy S:

  • the design of the phone case does not correspond to its price level;
  • back cover easily scratched;
  • it is not clear where the camera button has gone;
  • localization shortcomings;
  • the declared support for FLAC works very poorly.

There is hardly a person who is not familiar with the products of the Korean company Samsung. Their smartphones have long been the leaders in sales. The manufacturer regularly releases new models equipped with innovative technologies. However, this article will be devoted not to another novelty, but to a time-tested phone - the Samsung GT-S6102. Characteristics, description of appearance, advantages and disadvantages - this is what we will talk about today. It was released in 2011. The full model name is Samsung Galaxy Y Duos S6102.

Appearance

Before considering the characteristics of a smartphone, you need to understand the features of its appearance. Unfortunately, the design can hardly be called impressive and original. It has already been used by the manufacturer in previous models. The body is made in the shape of a rectangle. The corners are rounded. Thanks to this solution, the phone does not look bulky. And given its dimensions (110 × 60 × 12 mm), there are prerequisites for this.

As far as ease of use is concerned, everything here is top notch. Even in a small female hand lies perfectly, you can control with one hand. "Samsung GT-S6102 Duos" (the characteristics of the device will be presented below) weighs only 109 g, so it can be carried in the pocket of both trousers and shirts. And if there are no special comments on ergonomics, then the quality of the material from which the body is made did not make the best impression. The fact is that the back cover has a glossy surface, so it is very easily soiled and slippery. It is also worth noting that the plastic is unreliable - scratches remain on it.

On the front side is touch screen. Below it is a control panel. It displays a mechanical button in the center and two touch buttons on the right and left sides. Elegance to the appearance is given by a silver frame running along the entire perimeter of the front panel. The speaker hole is covered with a chrome-plated fine grille, which fits perfectly into the overall design.

The rear panel displays a minimum of elements. There is only a camera lens and two parallel speaker output holes. They are located on one horizontal line. The battery cover can be easily removed. To do this, just pry lightly with your fingernail. The assembly of the phone is excellent, there are no gaps and backlashes. We can safely say that everything is at the highest level.

It makes no sense to describe the controls in detail, since everything here is similar to other gadgets. On the left side is the volume rocker, on the right is the lock key, on the top is the headset port, and on the bottom is the microUSB.

Screen and camera

Let's start the review of the technical characteristics of the Samsung GT-S6102 with a description of the camera's capabilities. Of course, you shouldn't count on any superpowers in the budget device of 2011. Matrix capabilities are limited to three megapixels. Unfortunately, there is no flash. The maximum photo resolution is 2048 × 1536 px (3.2 MP). A few words must be said about the quality of the shooting. In bright light, you can even take a picture of the text. It will turn out not clear enough, but readable. Pretty good shots are obtained on the street, but only during the day in sunny weather. The rest of the camera is mediocre.

"Samsung GT-S6102" is equipped with a 3.14-inch screen. The picture is displayed with a resolution of 240 × 320 px. Display type - capacitive. The sensor is sensitive, clearly and quickly responds to a light touch of a finger. The device has multi-touch and accelerometer options. They work great.

There are also disadvantages to the screen. The picture is grainy. True, this is not very striking, but if you look closely, the flaws are noticeable even to the naked eye. The display is based on a TFT matrix. This technology has significant disadvantages - small viewing angles (colors fade when tilted). The brightness range is enough to work in sunny weather. In order for the screen not to fade, you will need to set the backlight to at least 70%. Brightness can be adjusted both manually and automatically.

Phone "Samsung GT-S6102": characteristics of the hardware platform

Now we need to consider the characteristics of "iron". This criterion is especially important in smartphones. The level of performance will depend on the processor. What is used in the gadget? Pretty good (for 2011) Snapdragon S1 MSM7227 chipset from Qualcomm. Computational element - one. When the device is running at maximum, it gives out 832 MHz. Naturally, there is also a graphics accelerator. Paired with the main chip is an Adreno 200 graphics card.

What conclusions can be drawn about the hardware stuffing "Samsung GT-S6102"? The characteristic of "iron" corresponds to the budget segment. All applications compatible with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) installed in the machine work well. Games can also be played, but not too demanding.

Memory

Phone performance is affected not only by the brand of processor, but also by the volume system memory. In the GT-S6102, the manufacturer has integrated 384 MB of RAM. It is used only for system data. And here is for installation software Built-in storage provided. Its volume is only 160 MB. In this criterion, the characteristics of the Samsung Galaxy GT-S6102 are rather weak. This will not be enough for a full-fledged user, so the manufacturer has provided a slot for a memory card. The device supports flash drives up to 32 GB. The indisputable advantage is the possibility of "hot" replacement external drive. In order to remove the memory card, there is no need to turn off the power of the smartphone and remove the battery.

autonomy

Finishing acquaintance with the characteristics of "Samsung GT-S6102", it is necessary to talk about battery life. The manufacturer installed a 1200 mAh battery. Note that among the competitors there are more powerful models. However, despite the small capacity of the battery, the gadget with an average load (talks - up to 40 minutes, work with applications - up to 60 minutes) is able to function up to two days.

Advantages and disadvantages

As a conclusion, we will present all the strengths and weaknesses of the smartphone of the Korean manufacturer.

Advantages:

  • Excellent build quality.
  • Impeccably thought-out ergonomics, thanks to which it is convenient to use the phone for both adults (men and women) and children.
  • Quality sensor.
  • Average performance (taking into account the requirements of 2011).
  • "Hot" replacement of a flash drive.
  • The third version of bluetooth.

Flaws:

  • Markiness of the hull.
  • Poor quality plastic (scratches quickly).
  • Lack of new design solutions.
  • Image graininess.

Note that there were much more advantages, so we can say that the manufacturer has released a decent model for its price segment.

After advanced users got new note II, and a special mini-smartphone has been released for premium lovers, it's time to pay attention to mid-range devices as well. The South Korean company released new smartphone Galaxy Premier (index GT-i9260), which has familiar features: 4.65-inch display, dual-core processor reminiscent of the Galaxy Nexus. But still, comparing these two smartphones is incorrect, since it will be difficult to say that these gadgets have much in common.

So let's take a look at the Galaxy Premier.

The smartphone looks very similar to its more "big brother" - Galaxy S III. The only difference besides a little smaller sizes, is the presence in the Samsung Galaxy Premier of glossy plastic on the back of the device instead of the material used in the Galaxy S3.

The gadget is made entirely of plastic, but at the same time looks pretty good, even for its price range.

On the front surface of the device is a display, above which are located front-camera, speaker and company logo, below it there are two touch and one mechanical control keys. On the back side you can see the "peephole" of the camera with LED flash, slots for the speaker and the company logo.

On one side face there is a power / lock button, and on the other - a volume rocker. There is a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top edge, and a microUSB port on the bottom edge.

The dimensions of the device are 134.2x68.1x8.8 mm, and the weight is 130 g.

Performance and software

The Samsung Galaxy Premier is powered by a 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4470 Cortex-A9 dual-core processor, PowerVR SGX544 GPU, and 1GB of RAM. In essence, it turned out to be a more advanced Galaxy Nexus - with better graphics, a faster processor and support for cards (up to 64 GB). Built-in memory in the device can be 16 GB or 32 GB, depending on the modification. The gadget operates under the operating system Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean.

Now let's move on to the results. Samsung tests Galaxy Premier.

In Benchmark Pi, the new product performed very well, outperforming all devices with a 2-core Cortex-A9, but slightly inferior to the 2-core Krait in One S.

In Linpack, the One S smartphone retains its leadership, but our test subject overtook other devices, including the Galaxy Nexus.

New GPU sparkled in the Nenamark 2 test, showing a very impressive result. Despite the high resolution of the display.

SunSpider JavaScript showed very good performance browser on Galaxy Premier. There are a few smartphones out there that could do better, but they're all in the higher price range.

In the BrowserMark test, our gadget also dominates its price segment, showing really impressive results for 2-core processors.

Thus, when evaluating multi-threaded performance, Krait turned out to be better than Cortex-A9. However, the situation turned out to be completely different when browsing the web, where the Samsung Galaxy Premier turned out to be one of the best phones. Therefore, this smartphone is suitable for those people who plan to spend a lot of time on the Internet.

Well, in the end, the Galaxy Premier confidently outperformed the Galaxy Nexus in almost every area.

The novelty works in GSM networks 900/1800/1900, two versions of the smartphone will go on sale with support for 3G networks and LTE networks, depending on the region and supplier. In Russia, most likely, gadgets with 3G support will be sold only.

The device also supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, and FM radio.

From the software preinstalled: mail client, web browser, document editor, maps, games and other applications.

Screen

As usual in AMOLED screens, the colors are vibrant and the contrast is very high. Unlike the Galaxy Nexus, the new smartphone offers three modes that allow you to tweak colors if you don't like the default settings. The Samsung Galaxy Premier uses a 4.65-inch Super capacitive sensor with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels and 16.78 million colors. The pixel density is 316 ppi, so this screen remains the leader among AMOLED displays in this indicator.

The screen brightness isn't particularly impressive, but the Galaxy Premier is still brighter than the Galaxy Nexus. The display remains legible in sunlight.

Below is a contrast table where you can compare different models.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy Premier uses an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash, autofocus, and the ability to smile. It allows you to take pictures with a maximum resolution of 3264x2448 pixels and record video in Full HD resolution at 30 frames per second.

The camera offers many features, including geotagging, touch focus, HDR mode, panoramic shooting, low light shooting, and more.

The quality is significantly better than its Galaxy Nexus predecessor. As expected, the new product uses the same sensor as the Galaxy S II and Galaxy S III, although the image processing has been changed, but the results are still very good. Colors look good, although a bit oversaturated.

Below are some sample photos.

Now let's talk a little about the video. Various effects such as slow motion (1/2x) and fast motion (2x) can be used while recording, and touch focus is possible while recording.

Full HD video is recorded in MP4 format with bit rates ranging from 17 Mbps to 19 Mbps, while the captured audio has a sampling rate of 48 kHz and a bit rate of about 130 Kbps.

The video quality, we felt, was a bit worse than the Galaxy S III and Note II.

Below you can see an example of a video shot on the Galaxy Premier, with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels.

The smartphone also has a 1.9-megapixel front camera for video calling.

Battery

The device has lithium ion battery capacity of 2100 mAh, which, according to the manufacturer, will work up to 21 hours 40 minutes of talk time and up to 790 hours of standby time. Battery testing showed very good results: 11 hours 30 minutes of calls via a 3G network, 6 hours 40 minutes of web browsing on the Internet and 12 hours 51 minutes of the gadget worked while watching a video.

Price

In the end, let's note what shortcomings, in our opinion, the smartphone has: there is no camera shutter button, the 2-core Cortex-A9 processor already belongs to a lower market segment, the case is completely plastic.
