Verification on login from another device

How to recover login

Change Nickname (Login)

This procedure is quite simple, but requires access to the application itself. After you log into Steam, you need to go to the profile management tab.

10) A letter with a verification code should come to the same email address and your secret Question. (But not the answer to it!)

11) Enter the confirmation code and the answer to the security question in the fields required for this. Then click "Next."

Important! The answer to the secret question must be written in Latin letters (strictly letters of the English alphabet). The answer is case sensitive: pay attention to lowercase and uppercase characters.

12) Then Steam will require you to select a new password. To confirm the password change, enter the new password twice and click the “Next” button.

If all the data is entered correctly, the password must be successfully changed, and you will log in to your account using the new password.

note, if you log into your account from another computer, and at the same time you have the Steam Guard function turned on, then an email will automatically be sent to you in which you need to confirm that you are the owner of this account.

How to recover if I don’t remember the answer to the secret question, don’t remember the mail or the letter with the account doesn’t come to me

In this case, you have to take a picture of the game key. Take a picture of the key that came to your e-mail, or the key indicated on the disk with the game, if you bought the game on electronic media. The photo should be clear, in a resolution of at least 1024x768 pixels.

Important! Do not edit the photo in any graphic editor, otherwise the photo will be considered invalid.

1. Register new account  Email.

2. Register a new Steam account on the tech website. Steam support.

3. After registering a new account, a letter should come to the new mail with a request to confirm the registration. Follow the link in the letter or copy and paste it into the browser line.

4. After confirming the registration, follow this link https://support.steampowered.com/newticket.php and fill in the required fields:

  • Your Question - enter a description of your problem here in English. For example: Hello! I forgot my password and secret question. Help me please.
  • Add attachment - click on the button and attach the previously taken photo of the key.
  • Language - leave English
  • Your email address - leave by default
  • Subject - The subject of the letter. Indicate in English: Lost password and secret question
  • Category - select Account Question, then - Password reset  Request
  • Steam Account Name - account name, if you remember. If not, leave the field blank.
  • CD Key - the key of the game.
  • Operating System - choose your operating system  (not necessary)

5. Confirm that everything is done correctly by clicking the "Add Question" button.

6. Wait. A few minutes later a letter should come to your new email, in which it will be said that the appeal to technical support has been accepted.

7. If the letter did not arrive, then something was done wrong.

8. After some time (due to the difference in time zones, the answer comes at night) on email address  A response from technical support will come. If everything was done correctly, then in the letter you will be asked to confirm that you are the owner of the licensed disc.

9. Write with a pen on free space  stickers with the key your Steam technical support number and send them a new photo. Typically, this number is as follows: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. For example: DHGI-3732-FOMW (but you will have a different character set).

Important! The photo needs to be added to an existing appeal on the Steam website. To do this, follow the link provided in the letter.

10. If your appeal is closed, then click the reopen button.

11. To add a photo, click “Add Attachment”, find the photo on your computer and upload it to the website (“Attach”).

12. Write a different text in the message field. For example: “Here is the license key confirmation for the game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Please restore my account and password. ". Then click Submit.

13. After this, a letter should come up with account information: login and new password.

Tip: after recovering the password from Steam support, change it to a new one. But this time, be sure to remember it or write it down somewhere!

9. Next, Steam will require you to select a new password. To confirm the password change, enter the new password twice and press the button Further.

You can recover your account using a license key  from any game registered on your account.
  It takes a little more time and effort.

1. First of all, you have to prove that it is you who own the disk. To do this, take photos of the key. The photo should be clear, with a resolution of at least 1024x768. It should be possible to read the key.
