Rx 2 3 not charging at 100. Wismec RX GEN3 review – Successful upgrade

My favorite mod has always been and remains my old but faithful RX200, and therefore it is not surprising that the new GEN3 came to me. If previous updates the RX lines for me personally did not bring anything fundamentally new.

For example, in the RX200S the screen was enlarged, which was absolutely not important for me, since all the necessary information (charge and power) was always in plain sight.

In RX2 / 3, the height was increased, which made the device quite huge, and made it possible to use both 2 and 3 batteries. In a variation with 2 Akum, the ryksa turned into a very long freak, and lost its historical shape and most comfortable grip. And if you take into account the fact that only 1 out of 8 friends who had these mods used the chip, it becomes clear that this update is also from the series because it is necessary.

RX300 from the “marketing bullshit” series, we beat 4 Akuma, we will make 350W and it doesn’t matter that it’s more convenient to hold a brick.

But time passed and the guys from Wismec released the new Wismec Reuleaux RX GEN3, small, handy POWERFUL and after 4 generations, I realized that this is a worthy replacement for my old man. This was the introduction, and now let's go directly to the review.

I want to start right away with a review of the Gnome tank that comes with the new ryksa.

Tank Wismec GNOME

Buck is shit.
More?
Replaceable evaporators stink of sweat and the suffering of the Chinese for the first 5-7 ml of liquid, then it passes, there is no taste as such, bulk? 45W, at 50W it’s already a garik, so it knocks like everyone else at 45W but with a complete lack of taste.

Dimensions and Design

The guys from Wismec have remained true to the Reuleaux Triangle form factor, and this cannot but rejoice, since there is simply no more comfortable grip than in this form.
The size has decreased, the width and length have decreased by tenths of millimeters, and there is no need to reduce more. Since we will lose a comfortable grip, but the guys reduced the height by 11mm, and this is very felt, when you first see it, it seems fake, toy, and can’t hold 3 18650 batteries and give out 300W, and when you pick it up this feeling only intensifies.

But damn it, it really is 3 batteries and fries 300W, it may not give out real 300W, but let's be honest. Who soars on a constant above 150-160W? I'm not talking about situations where you show your friends that it can fry at 300W, but about everyday vaping, I'm the most inadequate of all my acquaintances and I drive a drip at 160-170W, all the rest are within 65-110W and no one else needs it. Particularly delivered by people with mods for 3-4 Akuma and frying at 30-35W, why the hell? Autonomy? You will have enough fashion for 2 Akum.

Specifically by design? Well, the coloring forms have changed, well, they made a slot for the outlet of gases into which you can see the heat shrinkage of the battery, well, ok, there are no fundamental innovations, it is already beautiful.

A somewhat crooked implementation of the battery compartment cover, to close, you need to lower the cover, move it forward (toward the hinge), to open it, you need to move it back (away from the hinge). So, when the lid is open and raised, in 90% of cases it moves forward towards the hinge and goes into the closed position, and if you don’t notice this, then when lowering the lid, you can tear the plastic out of the hinge, and your best friend will blue electrical tape?.
The buttons are made of metal, as in previous generations.

It looks very comical when a high tank is screwed onto the carcass, for example Moradin 25 which is only 9mm shorter than the mod.

How does it fry?

It fries well, like any other mod for 3 Akuma. If you pile on a lot, it heats up very noticeably since the size has been reduced, respectively, the heat dissipation area has also decreased. But I don’t know how the reviewers caught “Device Too Hot” on it, for 20 minutes of a hard load on 170W (Cyclon VT) the mod had boiling water, but continued to work normally without shutting down due to overheating.

Is there a quick response to the button?

The fastest we have is DRAG 157 from VooPoo Tech, and when you switch to another device after it, you feel the difference in button response time, but after 1-2 minutes this feeling passes and everything is fine again.

How about autonomy?

This question always baffles me, and from any reasoning of reviewers on the topic of device autonomy, it burns. Why? Yes, everything is simple.

Each has its own Akum, with its own capacity, with its own degree of wear. Each has its own windings, and the power at which it soars, and, accordingly, its own current strength in A, and if at 10A Sony VTC6 (3120 mAh) can give, for example, 2800 mAh, then at 40A, it will give only 2300 mAh. Also, if you pile on so that the device and the Akum heat up, this also affects the capacity and not in a big way.
So the question of autonomy for each is individual in his particular situation.

Screen

That's what caused me bouts of pain and suffering is the terrible screen in RX GEN3, it's sooo dim, and if it's enough indoors, then on the street during the day in bright sun, the screen is absolutely not visible. Tried to flash on alternative firmware ArcticFox, it has a brightness control, but alas, it is already at the maximum.
And secondly, the glass that protects the screen ... is absolutely not glued in the center of the device, and accordingly it “squishes”, “clicks” from any touch, which is very annoying.

Are the cans hanging?

If more than 25mm, then yes, a small protrusion appears, as in all previous ryks, I am indifferent to this, and how many of you have more than 25mm tanks on a permanent basis?
Also, all tanks sit tightly on the device and do not levitate.

Can RX GEN3 be charged via USB?

How many questions on this topic, just dear mother. Do not listen to these under-reviewers who repeat everything one after another. All ryks could always be charged via USB.
And then you tell me that the first RX burned when charged via USB, yes, they burned, but from the first batch, and only because there was a factory problem with wires, it was fixed in subsequent batches. And you can even vape while charging via USB, nothing bad will happen.

If you still haven’t convinced, then think, at the moment of hovering, the mod can pass current up to 50A through itself, and at the moment of charging, 1-2A passes through it, depending on the model. Which is 25-50 times less than when hovering ... Hi underviewers 😉

Pros:

    • The smallest mod for 3 Akuma
    • This baby fries at 300W
    • Handsome (I have red and black and he is unrealistically sexy)
    • The paint will not peel off from just one look, like on old ryks
    • This is Wismec, which means that they can hammer nails at the grandmother's in the country and nothing will happen to him.
    • Charging current via USB - 2A
    • Great working balancer.

Minuses:

    • Very dim screen (or the guys from Wismec went too far with dimming the protective glass)
    • Squishes protective glass screen
    • With prolonged heaping, it heats up like Satan (due to the reduced size)
    • When Micro USB is connected, if you use the device, the connection is lost when the cable moves.
    • Possibility of accidentally breaking the battery cover
Good day, all comrades!

The indicator can show percentage charge. Instead of current readings, you can set puff counter or soaring time.

Eat blocking from changing the selected power - press the "+" and "-" buttons together for 2 seconds. At the same time, the mod works, but does not respond to pressing the "+" and "-" buttons (Key Lock indication) until it is unlocked (in a similar way).

There is a very well-executed stealth mode- press the Fire and "-" buttons together for 2 seconds. When vaping, the screen does not glow (excessive battery power is not consumed), and when necessary, everything is visible: when you change the settings, it turns on. And even if you do not change the settings, but just want to see the information (for example, how much battery charge is left), then it is elementary to do this - one quick press on the Fire button and the information on the screen. This stealth mode can actually be used all the time and without any inconvenience. It can also be used in conjunction with change lock.

Resistance lock(a lock appears) in the TC menu (use the "-" button to select the resistance item, and lock it with the "+" button).
Similarly, the menu sets the maximum power for TC modes(use the "-" button to select, use the "+" button to enter the change mode, then use the "+" / "-" buttons to change the value in any direction).

When "puffing" on the screen, the information changes dynamically, in the variatte it shows the tightening time in seconds with tenths. After releasing the button, the screen returns to normal and turns off after 30 seconds. Cutoff 10 sec.

All possible types of protection are present. The board is very responsive (there are no sleeps and delays), it turns off and on instantly at all (without the "boot process" that is present in many most other mods).

View the temperature inside the mod- 10 quick fire clicks from off.
View firmware version- 20 quick fire clicks from off.
flip screen"upside down" - in the off state, hold down "+" and "-".
View battery voltage- in the off state, hold down "-" and Fire.

If the battery charge does not allow the power set by the user to be output, the box mod displays a "weak battery" message and displays that maximum power, which can be issued with the current state of the batteries and displays its value. The behavior of the board is honest and correct. This is exactly how mods should behave in such a situation.

Used in fashion serial connection batteries. Of course for maximum effective work in such fashion it is desirable use batteries of the same type and condition as much as possible.

Attention: using the box mod at maximum output power is possible only on high-quality high-current batteries
(For example: Sony VTC4, Sony VTC5, Sony VTC5A, Sony VTC6, LG HE2, LG HE4, LG HG2, Samsung R25, Samsung 30Q, Sanyo UR18650NSX ).
When working from two batteries, the maximum output voltage is 6 V and the power is 200 watts (for 3x18650 - 9 V and 250 watts).

The mod stops working when the voltage on any battery drops below 3.1 V - the inscription: " Battery Low Lock".
If the batteries are highly unbalanced in voltage (the difference is more than 0.3 V), then when the USB cable is connected, the inscription will light up: " Imbalanced Batteries". There is also a protection against overvoltage of the USB power supply: if the voltage is higher than 5.8 V, then the screen will light up the inscription " Check USB".

There are no complaints about the electronics of the box mod (Joyetech board). She is very fast, accurate and powerful. The resistance measurement is accurate. No delays, smooth linear response at any voltage. Large range of output power and supported resistances. The current limit at the output is as much as 50A (you can get 200/250 watts, including at a minimum resistance of 0.1 Ohm). Excellent temperature control and the ability to independently set TCR values, which makes it possible to use a wide variety of materials. Possibility to update the firmware. The battery pack is very versatile and works correctly.
When working from two batteries, the maximum output voltage is 6 V and the power is 200 watts (for 3x18650 - 9 V and 250 watts).

The total weight of the RX2/3 box mod with 2 18650 batteries will be about 242g, and with 3 batteries it will be about 320g.

Comparison appearance and sizes: Wismec Reuleaux RX200S, Wismec Reuleaux RX2/3, Wismec Reuleaux RX200.

To realize the possibility of working with two different back covers, the developers had to slightly increase the height (by 4.5 mm).

But now it can be used in a more compact version. The lid sits tight, does not stagger, but there are small gaps on one side.

It turned out really very convenient, ergonomic and compact box mod for 2 batteries. In the hand sits like a glove.

The connector is exactly the same as previous versions. In my copy, all atoms are wound tightly, without gaps and distortions.

Top view of both mod options. In addition to the familiar logo, there is now an inscription of the model name - REULEAUX RX2/3.

The fire button is again black, like the RX200. The logo will not wipe off (the paint is in the recess). The button is metal, comfortable and quiet.

But the "+/-" buttons were taken from the RX75. Silent plastic rocker button. Disapproving - I liked the original version of the RX200S more.

Atoms up to 25 mm wide look harmonious. Personally, I have no problems with the connector, everything is screwed tightly.

Nagging and cons of the WISMEC Reuleaux RX2/3 box mod:
I also consider another new version of the Reuleaux folk box mod to be very successful. From the quibbles I can note:

Coating and housing are almost the same as previous models. Practice has shown that over time the coating will peel off and in some instances there may be small gaps between the covers and the case.

The new snap-on lid mechanism is slightly less convenient than on magnets. But nothing critical. The lid stays on securely and does not play when in use. The height of the mod has also increased slightly (by 4.5 mm).

All the same 510th connector. In my copy, there are no problems, but some may have slight distortions or gaps when winding individual atoms.

The new "+/-" rocker buttons are taken from the RX75. In principle, they are also normal and quiet, but IMHO, the original version of the round buttons looked better. As for me, it was not worth changing the design of the buttons.

There is still no built-in charging balancer and this is not good. Of course, the autonomy of the mod is decent (after all, 3x18650 inside), but due to the lack of balancing in reality, it turns out to be significantly worse than it could be, because in practice, often not all batteries are fully charged and also not all are completely discharged. Now, if they made a parallel connection, then there would be no such problems and all batteries (even different ones) would always be fully charged and fully give off a charge.

Some instances of the box mod can cheat a little (but within acceptable limits) in displaying the current charge of individual cans.

Advantages and advantages of the WISMEC Reuleaux RX2/3 box mod:

The box mod has now become more versatile and as an option on 2 batteries it is really very good and convenient. This is probably the most compact box mod on 2 replaceable 18650 batteries. It sits very comfortably in the hand.

The large O-LED screen with vertical display is great for box mod and is really more convenient and informative. Simple and convenient and thoughtful operation.

Excellent electronic mod. Fast, accurate and powerful. The current limit at the output is as much as 50A (you can get 200/250 watts, including at a minimum resistance of 0.1 Ohm). State of the art functionality correct work in all situations.
Firmware update. With new firmware, the mod can improve and add support for new functions.

The buttons are comfortable, pleasant and quiet.

Convenient battery change. Implementation of two types of battery compartment covers (for 2 and 3 18650 batteries).

There is also a built-in charger. The USB connector is in the right place and the mod can be placed vertically during charging (liquid will not leak from the wound RDA).

Defence from incorrect installation batteries is implemented at the board level, and not mechanically. There is overvoltage protection of the USB power supply when charging.

Wear-resistant steel connector and spring-loaded positive pin.

Affordable price for such a functional and versatile box mod.

SUMMARY: If you plan to use the box mod solely on 3 x 18650 batteries, then the Reuleaux RX200S looks a little more attractive (it looks a little neater, has a slightly lower height and weight and a more convenient magnetic cover). If you are going to use the mod mainly on 2 batteries, and sometimes on 3, then the new Reuleaux will suit you perfectly. As an option on 2 batteries, it is really very good and convenient and can also give out 200 watts and 50A.

As they arrive new information, I will try to add to the review.

Wismec RX GEN3 is a continuation of the "ryksy" line. At one time, everyone who began to get involved in vaping was chasing ryx-like devices.

The device arrived from the electronic store Vapesourcing and we thank them for submitting the sample!

Wismec Reuleaux RX GEN3 300w is available in five color options.

On the box, the equipment is indicated and there is a scratch code for checking originality. Under the top cover you can find a box mod, as well as detailed instructions about the operation of the device in 10 languages, incl. there is also a Russian language, a USB cable for changing the firmware and recharging.

Information for information

Wismec RX GEN3 made of anodized aluminum and stainless steel and powered by three 18650 batteries, while retaining its compact dimensions even in 2018 and early 2019, retaining the title of the smallest electronic box mod for three batteries, designed to fit atomizers up to 25 mm without levitation , in the variatt mode it raises from 0.05 Ohm, it is supplied both in a kit version with a Gnome tank, and just a mod.

Review

From above, landing for atomizers up to 25 mm, if the diameter of the tanks is larger, then there will be sides.

If you look at the box mod from above, the famous Reuleaux triangle immediately catches your eye. At the top is a connector that this device pressed in from below and we really hope that it will last a long time and will not tear out “with meat” like in .

The manufacturer's name - Wismec - is located on the side and cuts are made for cooling the board. On the front panel, there is a fire button with the inscription Jay Bo on top, and buttons “-” and “+” at the bottom, as well as a port for connecting a cable.

At the bottom is the battery compartment, in which all the pins are spring-loaded. On the battery cover there are holes for gas outlet. The lid is solidly made and snaps nicely, fits snugly to the body and leaves no gaps.

The inside of the lid has a contact group and this gives it strength to some extent. There is also a numbering of batteries with the numbers "1", "2", "3", and the display shows information about the charge of each of the batteries.

If you shake the mod, then the buttons do not ring and do not hang out, extraneous sounds is not observed.

About the display, we can say that it is large, has a 1.3-inch OLED screen, very informative thanks to capital letters and numbers. True, the screen is black and white and pixelated, and this can upset someone.

The screen displays information about the vaping mode, power, voltage, winding resistance, number of puffs, current strength. At the very bottom of the display, information about the status of your batteries. You can see which battery has run out the most.

Dimensions
Height -79 mm / 113.7 mm (with Gnome tank)
Thickness -39.3mm
Width -48.8 mm
Weight without batteries -146 gr.

You can charge the device with a current of up to 2 A. If we talk about the operating resistance, then it varies in the range from 0.1 to 3.5 ohms in the variatta mode, and in thermal control - from 0.05 to 1.5 ohms.

The device provides all degrees of protection and has operating modes: variatt, thermal control, bypass.

The device can be used in Power Bank mode.
To turn on the device, press fire five times. Three times on fire and you can go to the submenu and use the “+” button to scroll through the modes. If you press "-" and fire at the same time, you can switch to the mode when the display goes out and the mod is working. This way you can save battery power, for example on a sunny day.

General impression about the review of the device

Vismek Gen3 rightfully received the status of the most compact device in the world of vaping for 3 18650 mAh batteries in 2017 and a year later retained this title.

Compact, autonomous and powerful. The manufacturer claims that the mod can be accelerated to 300 W. However, there is no need to set it above 150 W, since vaping is no longer comfortable due to hot steam.

One minus, which perhaps the manufacturer will eventually fix. If you vape drips on greasy windings for 5-10 minutes without a break, then the mod will heat up. It is the part where the screen is located that heats up. The display may be heating up, although apparently the heat comes from the board. Therefore, you should not intensively use the device for more than 5 minutes on the "fat" because. There is a possibility of board failure.

Cons and pros:

Minuses:
- if you vape for more than 5 minutes, then the board heats up when vaping on fat builds, if you vape 0.15 Ohm for more than 15 minutes, then the board also starts to heat up a lot,
- the screen protects the plastic, which is very soft and bends when pressed with a finger, it is likely that it may crack,
- uneven discharge of batteries, two batteries are discharged faster, and one is slower,
- the area for the connector is painted and over time, chips and scratches from drips and atomizers will be noticeable.
Pros:
- the connector platform allows you to seat atomizers with a diameter of up to 25.5 mm, there are no sides, nothing hangs down,
- the connector is pressed in from the inside and will not tear out of the case when the atomizer is unscrewed,
-in design and ergonomics, this is the best device in vaping in the summer of 2017 for 3 18650 mAh batteries, while there are no competitors in terms of how it lies in the hand and in size, ergonomics and design are the main components that will attract new vapers and cause they have a desire to buy gene3,
- through USB port you can charge, reflash and use the device in Passthrough mode (Pastra),
- discharge of batteries on average 3.2 V, i.e. somewhere up to 3.15 - 3.22 V, and this is an excellent indicator of autonomy,
- charges batteries through USB cable almost evenly, if one battery is more discharged than the others, then the device first charges the more discharged battery,
- it is possible to charge the device with a current of 2 A, and this is considered that fast charging, although on the official website the manufacturer recommends charging batteries through stationary charging.

Good day, all comrades!

A distinctive feature of the Reuleaux RX 2/3 is the possibility of using it also in a more compact 2-battery version.

This is a serial box mod. He came to me from the store Heaven Gifts in option: WISMEC Reuleaux RX2/3 MOD Kit W/O Battery .

The package includes the box mod itself, a cover for 2 batteries, instructions and a micro-USB cable for charging and firmware.

There is also a reminder leaflet about the dangers of using batteries with damaged insulation. Below is a verification scratch code.

I got the silver gray version. The colors and finish are the same as the RX200S, but reversed (body darker, lid lighter).

The RX2/3 box mod is available in 6 different color options. Everyone will be able to choose the option that suits him.

Firmware is already available on the site Firmware V4.12(250 watts). All tests and characteristics in the review are already indicated for the new firmware.

The main difference between RX2/3 and its predecessor RX200S in that it can be used both as a 2- and 3-battery mod.
The screen, indication, control of the RX2/3 box mod are exactly the same. Version described Firmware V4.12(250 watts and logo loading).

The screen is exactly the same as in the latest Joyetech box mods. It should be noted that this is a large and informative O-LED display.
with a convenient vertical position. All the necessary information is always on the screen and is easy to read without turning the mod itself.

Management is convenient and thoughtful. Standard on/off- 5 quick clicks. Menu entry- 3 quick presses. Changing Modes button "+" in a circle: variatt, TC on nickel, titanium, stainless steel and TCR (for temperature control on other materials). When the TCR mode flashes with the "-" button, and then the "+" button, you can select one of three presets: M1, M2, M3.

The selected parameter changes in steps of 0.1 for Watts, in steps of 5 for degrees Celsius, and 10 for degrees Fahrenheit.
While holding down the button, the parameter continues to change automatically at an increasing rate. The speed of auto-selection is fast.
After the minimum or maximum value, the iteration stops, when you press again degrees fahrenheit change to degrees Celsius and vice versa.

It is possible to download your logo size 64x48 (2 color .BMP file, download with software for firmware). The logo, in principle, does not interfere (when you press "+" / "-" instead of the logo, it shows the adjustable parameter, as usual). Also, when vaping after releasing the Fire, the current power or temperature is shown instead of the logo for 2 seconds. Logo can be disabled("+" and "Fire" together, then again "+").

For changes in TCR values- in the off state, hold down Fire and "+", three custom TCRs are available - M1, M2, M3.
Select the desired custom TCR mode with the "+"/"-" buttons, press Fire, select the TCR value (with the "+"/"-" buttons), press Fire for 3 seconds.

For convenience, I compiled a table of temperature coefficients of resistance for various materials:

And even if you do not change the settings, but just want to see the information (for example, how much battery charge is left), then this is elementary to do - one quick press on the Fire button and the information on the screen. This stealth mode can actually be used all the time and without any inconvenience. It can also be used in conjunction with change lock.

Resistance lock(a lock appears) in the TC menu (use the "-" button to select the resistance item, and lock it with the "+" button).
Similarly, the menu sets the maximum power for TC modes(use the “-” button to select, use the “+” button to enter the change mode, then use the “+” / “-” buttons to change the value in any direction).

When “puffing” on the screen, the information changes dynamically, in the variatte it shows the tightening time in seconds with tenths. After releasing the button, the screen returns to normal and turns off after 30 seconds. Cutoff 10 sec.

All possible types of protection are present. The board is very responsive (there are no sleeps and delays), turns off and on instantly at all (without the "boot process" that is present in many most other mods).

View the temperature inside the mod- 10 quick fire clicks from off.
View firmware version- 20 quick fire clicks from off.
flip screen"upside down" - in the off state, hold down "+" and "-".
View battery voltage- in the off state, hold down "-" and Fire.

If the battery charge does not allow to output the power set by the user, the box mod displays the message “weak battery” and displays the maximum power that it can output with the current state of the batteries and displays its value. The behavior of the board is honest and correct. This is exactly how mods should behave in such a situation.

Used in fashion serial connection batteries. Of course, for the most efficient work in such modes, it is desirable use batteries of the same type and condition as much as possible.

When operating from two batteries, the maximum output voltage is 6 V and the power is 200 watts (for 3x18650 - 9 V and 250 watts).

The mod stops working when the voltage on any battery drops below 3.1 V - the inscription: " Battery Low Lock«.

If the batteries are highly unbalanced in voltage (the difference is more than 0.3 V), then when the USB cable is connected, the inscription will light up: “ Imbalanced Batteries". There is also protection against overvoltage of the USB power supply: if the voltage is higher than 5.8 V, then the screen will light up the inscription " Check USB«.

Unfortunately, there is still no balancer, but there is voltage control on each bank. I specifically took batteries that were unbalanced in terms of charge level to check the operation. Charging is turned off when the voltage on one of the cans is about 4.20 V - that is, everything is safe for the batteries, charging works correctly and you can use it safely. The battery level indicator flashes during charging and turns off when fully charged. The full charge time from a 1A charge depends on the capacity of the batteries used and is about 9 hours (6 hours for two batteries).

There was a lot of controversy and holivar on whether it is possible to charge batteries inside the RX200 box mod, because there were cases of its failure during charging. Manufacturer's position: does not prohibit charging inside the box mod, but recommends charging batteries in a separate charger. My position: you can charge with built-in charging (this regular function and it works absolutely correctly), but avoid using the mod during the charging process (the passru function), especially when the batteries have a very low charge - it is in this situation that the greatest load on the charging board occurs and most cases of failure happened this way.

Of course, it is better to charge with a separate charger, but a good charger that can charge three batteries at the same time costs a little less than the box mod itself, and not everyone can afford such expenses. Yes, and this is convenient: the batteries are guaranteed to be enough for a day, and during the night they are charged all together right in the fashion and you don’t need to change anything and you don’t need to have additional batteries to change.

If you leave the mod on charge unattended overnight and worry that something can happen, then for greater safety, place it away from combustible materials (there are special bags, you can put it on a metal tray or in a saucepan, etc.).

If the batteries are more or less the same, then you can use the built-in charging for quite a long time, but when there is a strong imbalance, then you will need to recharge the lagging battery in something else to equalize the charge. In any case, everything is safe for the batteries, and you will see the imbalance on the screen when you connect the charger.

When operating from two batteries, the maximum output voltage is 6 V and the power is 200 watts (for 3x18650 - 9 V and 250 watts).

The total weight of the RX2/3 box mod with 2 18650 batteries will be about 242g, and with 3 batteries it will be about 320g.

Appearance and size comparison: Wismec Reuleaux RX200S, Wismec Reuleaux RX2/3, Wismec Reuleaux RX200.

The connector is exactly the same as the previous versions. In my copy, all atoms are wound tightly, without gaps and distortions.

Top view of both mod options. In addition to the familiar logo, there is now an inscription of the model name - REULEAUX RX2 / 3.

The fire button is again black, like the RX200. The logo will not wipe off (the paint is in the recess). The button is metal, comfortable and quiet.

But the “+/-” buttons were taken from the RX75. Silent plastic rocker button. I do not approve - I liked the original version of the RX200S more.

The battery polarity has changed. Now the covers have additional contacts and latches are used instead of magnets.

The latches seem pretty solid, I don't think there should be any problems, but time will tell. To release the cover, press the button.

There is now a button on the bottom to open the lid. The design and location of the inscriptions and ventilation holes have changed slightly.

Look and size comparison: IJOY ASOLO 200W TC, Joyetech Cuboid 150W, Wismec Reuleaux RX2/3 200W and Eleaf iStick TC 100W.

On 2x18650 RX2/3 is very good. It turned out really probably the most compact box mod on 2 replaceable 18650 batteries.

- Coating and body are almost the same as previous models. Practice has shown that over time the coating will peel off and in some instances there may be small gaps between the covers and the case.

- The new snap-on lid mechanism is slightly less convenient than on magnets. But nothing critical. The lid stays on securely and does not play when in use. The height of the mod has also increased slightly (by 4.5 mm).

- All the same 510th connector. In my copy, there are no problems, but some may have slight distortions or gaps when winding individual atoms.

- New "+/-" buttons in the form of a rocker were taken from the RX75. In principle, they are also normal and quiet, but IMHO, the original version of the round buttons looked better. As for me, it was not worth changing the design of the buttons.

- There is still no built-in charging balancer and this is not good.

- Some instances of the box mod can cheat a little (but within acceptable limits) in displaying the current charge of individual cans.

The most modern functionality, correct work in all situations.

Protection against incorrect installation of batteries is implemented at the board level, and not mechanically. There is overvoltage protection of the USB power supply when charging.

Wear-resistant steel connector and spring-loaded positive pin.

Affordable price for such a functional and versatile box mod.

SUMMARY:

If you plan to use the box mod solely on 3 x 18650 batteries, then the Reuleaux RX200S looks a little more attractive (it looks a little neater, has a slightly lower height and weight and a more convenient magnetic cover). If you are going to use the mod mainly on 2 batteries, and sometimes on 3, then the new Reuleaux will suit you perfectly. As an option on 2 batteries, it is really very good and convenient and can also give out 200 watts and 50A.

Reuleaux RX2/3 Review | by Wismec. Video

up

The Reuleaux RX2/3 box mod from Wismec is a device that largely repeats another creation of the company - Reuleaux RX200S. However, the Reuleaux RX2 / 3 has implemented a very interesting feature of working with either two or three removable batteries. This is implemented due to interchangeable covers that change the capacity of the battery compartment. It is because of this feature that the box mod was named so - Reuleaux RX2 / 3, that is, the choice between two or three batteries.

Like many devices from Wismec, new mod was created under the supervision of JayBo - a well-known creator and designer of electronic cigarettes. Reuleaux RX2/3 is designed primarily for experienced vapers, as it has a large maximum vaping power and a full range of modern features, as well as large dimensions and weight. With three batteries installed, the mod “gives out” 200 watts of power, and with two - 150 watts.

Appearance

up

The design of the Reuleaux RX2/3 is taken from the Reuleaux RX200S, which is a favorite among vapers. The shape of the device resembles a rhombus with rounded corners, so the box mod fits well in the hand. Reuleaux RX2/3 dimensions vary depending on how many batteries are used. The height is 88.7 mm, the thickness is 40.2 mm, and the width is 50.1 mm for three batteries and 34.5 for two batteries. Thanks to this feature, the dual battery version becomes more compact, lighter and more convenient to use. However, for inconspicuous soaring, the mod will not work in any configuration.

The body of the mod is made of aluminum alloy and can be painted in one of six colors: black, white, gold, black-gray, black-red or mint grey. The assembly of the device is excellent - nothing rattles or dangles, however, vapers note that the battery cover has become not so convenient, since it is now attached to a mechanical latch, not magnets.

Functionality

up

Variwatt

1 to 150W (2 batteries) and 1 to 200W (3 batteries). The step of change is 0.1 W, when the button is pressed, the rate of power change increases. In the variatta mode, the box mod works flawlessly.

Temperature control (TC)

100 to 315°C or 200 to 600°F. The step of change is 5 and 10 degrees, respectively. By default, steel, nickel and titanium windings are supported, you can also manually set three metals by setting the resistance coefficient for them (TCR mode). In TK mode, you can block the resistance or manually set the power.

Since the Reuleaux RX2/3 is based on the same proven board as the Reuleaux RX200S, the temperature control mode does not raise any complaints and works like clockwork.

Subom

Reuleaux RX2 / 3 supports resistance in the range of 0.05 - 1.5 ohms in TK mode and 0.1 - 3.5 ohms in variable watt mode.

Since the mod is very wide, any clearomizers and drips are perfect for it. For example, popular in Lately devices with a diameter of 25 mm.

Battery

Reuleaux RX2/3 is powered by two or three 18650 batteries. The mod requires batteries with a current output of 25 A. The batteries have a serial connection, so you won’t be able to vape on one battery.

Batteries can be charged in a separate charger and right in vogue via USB port. Reuleaux RX2/3 charges the batteries fairly evenly inside itself, although it does not have charge balancing. However, experienced vapers recommend using a separate charger for all mods with three batteries. The maximum charging current for Reuleaux RX2/3 is 1A.

The Reuleaux RX2/3 does not have a pastru function, so vaping while charging is not recommended. The battery compartment contacts are spring loaded. The lid is not mounted on magnets, but on a mechanical latch, which is why it fits snugly against the case.

The minimum battery voltage is 3.1 V.

Display

The Reuleaux RX2/3 has a large 0.96-inch OLED display. The information is displayed in a list format, so it is very visual and easy to understand. The screen shows the battery life (as a percentage or an indicator to choose from), resistance, voltage, power, temperature, mode name and Additional information to choose from: current strength, number of puffs made or total soaring time.

The display can be flipped or turned off, as well as enable the display of the logo, which will replace the main parameter for the mode. When changing the parameter, the numbers will be displayed, after a few seconds - the logo.

Connector

Steel 510 connector with brass spring loaded pin.

protection

Reuleaux RX2/3 has a full set of protections:

  • from short circuit;
  • from high/low voltage;
  • against high/low resistance;
  • from overheating of the board;
  • from overheating of the evaporator (cut-off at the 10th second);
  • from improper installation of batteries;
  • from battery imbalance;
  • vent holes for venting gases from batteries.

Upgradable firmware

Reuleaux RX2/3 can be updated by downloading the file from the manufacturer's official website. Updates are used to add new features and fix bugs. To update the firmware, you need to connect the mod to the computer via USB and run the file, after which the program will do everything on its own. When updating the firmware, you can also set your own logo for display on the screen.

The latest firmware (4.13) at the time of publication increases the maximum vaping power for two batteries up to 200 W, for three - up to 250 W, and also adds the coil preheating function.

Control

up

Reuleaux RX2/3 is controlled using the Fire, "+" and "-" buttons. The device is turned on and off by pressing Fire five times. Pressing this button three times will switch to the menu mode, in which you can select a line on the screen with the "-" button and interact with it with the "+" button. For example, if in the TC mode you select a line with resistance using the “-” button, then you can lock or unlock it with the “+” button.

To turn off the screen, you need to hold down Fire and "-". To lock the adjustment buttons, hold down the "+" and "-". Fire and "+" will open the menu to enable or disable the display of the logo.

When the device is turned off, the combination of "+" and "-" will allow you to flip the screen 180 °. If you hold down Fire and "+", then the TCR preset settings menu will open. Fire and "-" will show the exact battery voltage. Pressing Fire repeatedly (about 20 times) will display the version of the installed firmware.
