Although this is not a secret at all, as it turned out, there are people who do not know about it.
If the remote control is lost, then you can switch groups without it.
If you briefly interrupt the power supply with a standard switch and turn it on again (i.e., supply power to the chandelier equipped with this box, pulses), then the groups will be switched sequentially.
Hence the conclusion. No, not even two conclusions.
1. It is impossible to refuse from the standard switch. Better to have it always on. But there is always the possibility to de-energize the Chinese box or control the light from the standard switch.
2. If only a couple of wires were laid to the chandelier (that is, the lamp was single-arm), then by embedding such a box in the chandelier, you can get a full-fledged two- or three-group chandelier. From a one-button switch.

You wake up at two o'clock in the morning from the illumination above your head.
