July 25, Apple partners in Russia on the launch of the trade-in program. According to it, in Re: Store stores and in several Svyaznoy stores, you can exchange your old iPhone, starting with the fourth series, for a discount when you buy a new one.

Then the program found similar models on bulletin boards, for example Avito and Yula, and compared the prices. The average cost of a used model is the final discount, however, it cannot exceed 30% of the price of a new device. The discount is also affected by how the seller evaluates the condition of the smartphone - whether there are cracks, scratches or chips on its case.

With me, the girl came to take the iPhone 4S, and the program offered her a discount of 600 rubles - the device is no longer supported by Apple, and it appearance   noticeably worsened over the years of use. A.

My SE could not be verified, because I bought it in France, and not in Russia: the program issued an error and reported that "the device is not supported." According to the seller, he does not know what will happen to the device after the smartphone is handed over to Belmont Trading.

Before me, the owner of the iPhone 5S on 32 GB came into the salon - for him the discount was 3 thousand rubles. The owner of the iPhone 7 on 128 GB was offered 20 thousand rubles. Despite the fact that they talked about the program two days ago, today I have become the tenth client who is interested in trade-in in this salon.

If under the trade-in program for my iPhone SE on 64 GB they offered up to 15 thousand rubles, then on Avito the same, but in gray colors, they sell at a price of 16 to 20 thousand rubles. For iPhone 7 on 128 GB they ask from 35 to 40 thousand rubles, for iPhone 5S for 32 GB - from 5 to 10 thousand rubles, and for iPhone 4S - up to one thousand rubles.

At Yulia, prices are slightly higher: for iPhone SE on 64 GB, you can safely ask for up to 23 thousand rubles, for iPhone 7 on 128 GB - up to 44 thousand rubles, for iPhone 5S on 32 GB - up to 12 thousand rubles and for iPhone 4S - up to 3 thousand rubles.

The main problem of trade-in in Russia is that only Rostest participates in the program. Many, including myself, did not buy an iPhone from an official reseller in Russia, but ordered on the Internet and eventually received a model from another country. Such owners will have to sell gray devices on bulletin boards.

Even if I had an iPhone SE with Rostest, I would still sell it through message boards or through friends, and not through trade-in. I would get a maximum of 15 thousand rubles from Apple partners, but in the form of a virtual discount, and with an independent sale, more than 20 thousand rubles in cash.

I ran to the service with the desire to make a quick examination, but there they told me to return, and write a claim demanding a refund or replacing the product with a more expensive one. Arriving at the salon again, I immediately said about my intention to write a complaint, the guys grinned, and even giving me paper began to dictate how to draw up the heading correctly. I briefly described the requirements to return the money and the reasons, they scanned them for the guys, sent them to the office and started: the lawyer called the salon and told me the same thing, which is easier for me to leave and go to the C / C, I said that I would only leave after that how they put the seal on the complaint, then she suggested an accelerated 20-day check and a possible refund in case of a critical malfunction, I said that I was not happy with this deadline, because the fourteen-day deadline ends tomorrow, and I would like to ... but she interrupted , and suggested and as a rare and very generous offer, just a 10-day check and you take away the claim, but I stood my ground, put a stamp and do not bargain with me, I need a piece of paper for further actions. –– Will you be fully refunded? - She asked, I answered, briefly and handed the phone to the managers, who were noticeably sad and started to draw up documents, suddenly one of them with undisguised joy found a couple of scratches and again having made a slightly sarcastic face, he pointed to them at me, saying that I just don’t see went out to smoke on the street, and on his return he received his money by putting three signatures.

The guys, in spite of the situation, were not rude and polite, in turn I asked if this would cause them problems, they replied that everything was fine, although I already didn’t give a shit.
