Beyond the ordinary passage of Skyrim. Oghma infinium - Russian translation The text is divided into parts, for convenience

Assigned by: Septimius Segonius
Location: Post of Septimius Segonia, Alftand, Blackreach
Companion Quest: Ancient Knowledge
Reward: Oghma Infinium (+5 to all war / thief / mage skills), an Elder Scroll (required to complete the main storyline).
ID: DA04

We go to the location "Post of Septimius Segonia":

We go downstairs, we speak with Septimius:

Find out about the Ancient Scroll. He asks us to fill out a Dwemer dictionary, in return for which he will tell us the location of the scroll.

he directs us to Alftand.

At first, it may be difficult to find the entrance to the dungeon.

The entrance is below, under the snow. It is highlighted with a marker. There is a bridge leading to the entrance, I think you should notice it.

Alftand itself is subdivided into three main locations.

Towards the end of the dungeon, a Dwemer Centurion will be waiting for you.

Do not forget to take the key from him.

After the centurion, we will see a scene in which two people cannot get out of the ruins in any way, fearing a stab in the back.

Helping them figure it out (We kill them so they don't get in the way).

Interestingly, both have unique things:

At least, I have not seen such things anywhere else. If you find Tarch of Bloodthirst somewhere else, write about it in the comments.

We activate the Dwemer mechanism that serves as a lock.

We go down the stairs that appear to the Black Limit.

In the house opposite the entrance, you can take the Scarlet Root nirn, which activates the quest "Return to the Roots"

We go along the marker to the "Mzrak Tower". Unfortunately, Black Reach is too big and I can't show you the way.

We go into the Baschnya Mzrak, walk in a straight line, we find ourselves in a room similar to the Oculatorium.

We rise to the "control panel"

Now we need to fill in the dictionary.

First, put the Dictionary on the stand:

We have two right buttons open.

Click on them until the dictionary starts to glow:

Then the third button opens:

We press it all the way. The same is with the next button.

After this procedure, the dictionary will fill up and turn blue:

Video

Because this moment causes many difficulties, we decided to record a video:

Don't forget to pick it up from the stand.

Also, do not forget the Ancient Scroll, which we need in the main storyline.

The exit from the tower is directly under the "control panel".

After we climbed to the surface, do not forget to activate the lever that opens the door to the elevator.

We go back to Septimius, we give him the dictionary.

He asks us to collect the blood of the elves.

We need blood: Orc, Bosmer, Dunmer, Altmer and Falmer.

At the exit from the lair of Septimius, the prince of the Daedra will be waiting for us.

It doesn't matter what you answer him, so don't bother.

So, an orc can be found in any orc village, but there they are quest and strong.

The Riverwood Archer is a Bosmer. There are a lot of Dunmer in Winterhold, but for each of them you can get a huge fine.

Therefore, we go to the location "Camp of clean springs".

There we will find the High Elf. It is located at the end of the dungeon, on thorns.

In the dungeon itself, we will most likely meet Orcs and Bosmer, as well as with some probability the Dunmer. In my case, there were representatives of all these species.

To collect blood, you need to press E and select "Collect blood"

(If you don't find them there, you can always kill someone from the city)

The Falmer can be found in the "Liar's Refuge" location:

As soon as we have collected the blood of all creatures, we go back to Septimius.

We speak to him, after which he opens the door to the cube.

Attention! After Septimius ran inside the cube and approached the pedestal, he must die (the Daedric prince must kill Septimius). But for some reason, he remains standing. Do not be afraid and kill him.

Be careful not to take quest items from Septimius' corpse, which then cannot be thrown away.

After the death of Septimius, we take the book and go to the exit.

Daedra will meet us again, but he will not tell us anything sensible.

P.S.

They say that you can return to Alftand, where there are the corpses of Orc, Bosmer, Dunmer, Almer and Falmer, lying in order, and if you return there immediately, there will be no enemies there.

The Oghma Infinium is used for reading. You can choose one of three ways, or you can postpone it "for later." These three paths are:

  • Path of Power +5 to all skills (Blacksmith, Block, Archer, One-handed, Two-handed, Heavy Armor)
  • Shadow Path +5 to all skills (Hack, Light Armor, Stealth, Theft, Speech, Alchemy)
  • Magic Path +5 to all skills (Illusion, Affliction, Destruction, Recovery, Enchant, Alteration)

Oghma Infinium - Russian translation

The alphabet of unknown "magic symbols" merged into a network in the distant Skyrim-nerd years:

At the moment, I no longer remember where the alphabet appeared on the network. But at some point in time I discovered it and decided to repeat what someone was doing with the Mysterium of Zarx from Oblivion - I decided to translate the Oghma Infinium and all the works of Shalidor.

If anyone is interested in the chatter, read the spoiler:

Hidden text

At first, all the pages of Shalidor's work were translated, but there is hardly much interesting information to be found there. At the moment, all the images with old translations have disappeared, as well as the photo hosting through which the images were uploaded to one of the forums. Today I could not find even the Oghma Infinium in normal resolution. I have only a text translation of all the pages of Shalidor's works, without an illustrative example. If someone has not yet seen the translations of Shalidor's works and you are really interested, write in the comments about it and I will reset the link.

After translating the first page of the Oghma Infinium, I learned that the English translation appeared on the TIL website a few months before I even found the alphabet. And nevertheless, I got a feeling of great satisfaction from the work done and made at least two discoveries for myself, I'll tell you more in more detail later.

For the rest, I suggest that you familiarize yourself with the notorious translation right away:

The text is split into parts for convenience:

Transliteration into English characters provided by the alphabet:

1) "no centro deste iceberg entre tanto um grande dwarve lockbox septime e scul psi u uma caverna no iceberg para que um lado do lockbox essencial mente"

2) "o iceberg wo i criado em volta do lockbox por alg uma pessoa desconte cida dentro da pouca cente nal pima de a nos esta pessoa enco trou o ogma infinum mento da mal da de esel longe na banda lockbox iceberg para que o"

3) "Ele no ore cida deer um grande e do at o mad let er at er um lug a rent real"

The translator has a quiet horror, whoever wants can see for himself. I will only write what I got when I understood the translation ...

1) "In the center of this iceberg is a large gnome safe, inside is a passage to a seven-foot cave, where powerful knowledge is contained."

2) "An iceberg was created around the safe, far from the cities of people and measures. The Oghma Infinium, which is inside, reveals knowledge, and therefore was reliably hidden from evil inside the safe in the iceberg."

3) "Those who are near, from era to era, become insane, such is the real pay"

A little more, perhaps not interesting thoughts.

Hidden text

Actually the text in Oghma Infinium describes the plot of the quest to get it in Skyrim. If anyone does not remember, the Oghma Infinium was in a huge Dwemer safe, which in turn was inside an even larger Iceberg. The safe was tried to open by Septimius, a former wizard of the College of Winterhold, who went crazy, apparently looking for an answer to how to open this safe.

By the way, during the passage of this quest, we receive indisputable proof that the Orsimers and Falmer are elves. During the quest, it was necessary to collect the blood of all the elves, in particular, we collected blood from the Orcs and Falmer.

As for the second page:

Hidden text

After I found out that there was a translation on TIL for a long time, I dropped the translation of the second page. But he made the first interesting discovery for himself. The TIL translator was wrong, because he translated the text in the wrong sequence. Either there was a translation of the upper and lower parts, or the text was translated along the radii of the circles. However, if you study the text, you can clearly see that the text goes in a spiral from the center to the upper loop, and the number of lines below and above is different, which is already suggestive. The text, however, was translated in the correct sequence (or maybe not) on the ESN website, where we actively discussed it together with the translator and other forum participants. If the translation is interesting, you can find it yourself on the ESN forum. Or write in the comments and I will look for a link for you.

However, all this does not interest me for a long time, the most interesting, in my opinion, is not in the text of Oghma Infinium, but on the diagram of the first page. The scheme almost exactly copies the plan of the Imperial City.
The "top view" of the Imperial City was spun in different ways so that it would fit into the scheme from Oghma as succinctly as possible, but you do not need to twirl anything. The key to the correct position, in my opinion, lies in the translation of the symbols on this diagram.

Translation of symbols in the diagram:

In discussions, one could often see comments that it looks like a map of the sky with possible planets, satellites and stars. The letters M and S were given different meanings, for example Masser and Secunda. But I was somehow confused by the third variable, all the options were somehow indistinct and very vague.
But one of the assumptions turned out to be quite simple and obvious.

Based on the fact that when reading the book we choose one of three paths - the Path of the Warrior, the Path of the Magician and the Path of the Shadow - it turns out the following:

"M" - Magia, Magic,

"S" - Strength (C ooze),

"G" - Ghost (Shadow).

And now even more interesting information, again for me personally. The location of the Magic ("M" - Magic) on the diagram from Oghma corresponds to the location of the University of Mysteries in the Imperial City. The location where the "S" - Strength is located corresponds to the location of the Imperial Legion Barracks. But there was no place for the Shadows ("G" - Ghost) in the Imperial City, as if they decided to drive her out of the city, after drawing a line, we find ourselves in a tavern, in which, in 3E 433, the hostess paid well to find the Exile of the Shadow wine. A truly mystical coincidence, so amazing that it is hard to believe in an accident.

The ratio of the IG with the OI scheme:

I personally never found anything more interesting in the games of the series, and indeed in any other games. But there was only one question, why the sacred Tower of White Gold is essentially not marked in any way in the Oghma Infinium. For myself, I found a simple answer, if you study the in-game history well, then you will understand that the Ayleids first erected the Tower of White Gold, and only after that a city began to appear, possibly being completed during the reign of people. And just the city was built according to the scheme written in the book of Kzars (Kzarks is a god, the chronicler of Auriel, is the author of Oghma Infinium). The Tower of White-Gold, apparently, not accidentally found itself in the center of the Kzarkx scheme, perhaps it only strengthened the mystical significance of the Imperial City, which is rightfully the sacred center of Tamriel, and maybe the whole of Nirn.

The case of my flash drive collapsed, and then I thought, why could this be done with it, and that's what I thought of - Oghma Infinium!

I didn’t shoot the initial stage, because I was not going to post this work here, so I will describe it ...

To begin with, 2 rectangles are made of polymer clay with the appropriate proportions of the Ogma Infinium from the game.

Then, again, comparable to the original from the game, we measure out the thickness of the product. We connect both parts with the help of polymer clay (Where the spine of the book will be located can be covered with clay exactly to the edge, on the other sides, where the texture of the pages will be, you should retreat from the edge about 4mm, because you will still need to make these same pages. you should forget that there will be a USB flash drive inside, and you need to leave a cavity for it).

After baking, add the texture of the spine of the book, and if your hands are crooked, then I advise you to bake it again)

In the next step, add the texture of the pages, just stick the clay into the grooves and use a paper knife to make grooves that simulate pages. I made the pages on the opposite side of the spine, arcuate, concave inward, like most old "read" books.

After this baking, using a sharp and thin chisel, cut the "book" into 2 parts, according to the texture pattern. As a result, we get the following:

Crafting Ogma Infinum + 2GB to memory O_O

Crafting Ogma Infinum + 2GB to memory O_O

Next, we need to make "threads", for this we roll thin "sausages" from polymer clay and with the help of a needle and a mat (where can we do without it ...) we stick them in the places where we left the indentations. as a result, we get an almost finished case:

Crafting Ogma Infinum + 2GB to memory O_O

Crafting Ogma Infinum + 2GB to memory O_O

Crafting Ogma Infinum + 2GB to memory O_O

Crafting Ogma Infinum + 2GB to memory O_O

Next, we take a magnet, I used magnets from the refrigerator (which I have been lying around for 10 years without work) and with the help of an engraver (if you don’t have one, a file, sandpaper and again the irreplaceable Russian mat ...) cut out 4 a rectangle with a width of the inner width of the walls and using superglue we glue them parallel to the lid (upper part) and the body (respectively, the lower part) of the flash drive so that they touch. We cut the places where we glue them with a cutter.

Crafting Ogma Infinum + 2GB to memory O_O

Crafting Ogma Infinum + 2GB to memory O_O

Crafting Ogma Infinum + 2GB to memory O_O

Crafting Ogma Infinum + 2GB to memory O_O

We pre-wrap the flash drive microcircuit with tape, and after kneading both parts of the paste until smooth, we install the flash drive into the case.

After the epoxylin has hardened, we will deal with the lid, we only need to leave in it a rectangular hole for the USB output. Either polymer clay or epoxylin can be used here, but I recommend clay because it can be trimmed.

Crafting Ogma Infinum + 2GB to memory O_O

Crafting Ogma Infinum + 2GB to memory O_O

All that remains is to paint and varnish! The result is such a wonderful flash drive!
