Most of the major players have already shown their top smartphones. The queue for the flagship LG, which can pleasantly surprise even the most inveterate skeptics

Most of the major players have already shown their top smartphones. The line for the flagship LG, which is able to pleasantly surprise even the most inveterate skeptics.

Equipment

In a small box, in addition to the smartphone itself, a charger, a microUSB cable, a G-shaped paper clip for removing a SIM card, and a short user guide are compactly packed. Headphones and branded case will have to be purchased separately.

Design

Externally, the smartphone looks a little like last year's Nexus 4. Both devices have similar roundness of the corners and a convex protective glass on the front panel. However, the feeling that the design was copied disappears immediately after turning on the flagship.

On the front edge above the screen there is a speaker grill, a front camera peephole, as well as light sensors, proximity sensors and an event indicator.

There are no separate touch keys, only the manufacturer's logo is located under the screen.

The side bezels are so thin that the screen simply smoothly merges into the side edges. They are flat with a narrow silver edging that marks the border between the sides and the back. All functional elements are located on the beveled edges of the latter.

The back is made of glossy plastic with an internal pattern of small ropes.

The main camera is located on its flat surface, as well as volume keys and a glossy power / unlock button between them. There is a circular flash on the right.

The holes for the additional microphone and the infrared transmitter are symmetrically placed on the upper bevel.

The right side is completely empty, while the left side houses the micro SIM card compartment.

The extended bottom side has microUSB connectors and a 3.5mm headset slot. And behind the symmetrical grilles, the main microphone and multimedia speaker are hidden.

The smartphone is available in white and black colors.

Display

The main trend of this year's top Android smartphones is the large Full HD screen. The G2 features an incredible, bright and crisp 5.2 ″ IPS display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The pixel density is just off scale. Thanks to natural color reproduction and the largest possible viewing angles, you will see only the best qualities of any picture and photo.

A high margin of brightness and a good level of contrast will play into your hands when you need to reply to a message or browse a web page on the street.

Ergonomics

With a thickness of almost 9 mm, the G2 weighs about 143 g. Although the smartphone uses a large display, this does not in the least affect its ergonomics. Slim bezels allow one-handed use. You can easily reach the top and bottom edges of the screen.

And people with small hands will be able to use the gadget as a full-fledged smartpad.

LG engineers have tried to make life as easy as possible for the user. To this end, the volume and power buttons have moved from the familiar side and top edges to the rear panel. On the one hand, the place is painfully unusual and seemingly uncomfortable. On the other hand, you quickly get used to such key placement.

The convex power button is easily located blindly. Plus, if your smartphone is on a table, you don't need to lift it to unlock it. It is enough to knock on the screen and G2 magically turns on. The exact same action must be taken to lock the device. And it is much faster and more interesting than just pressing a key.

Instead of separate touch keys, it uses virtual on-screen buttons. In the display settings menu, the user himself can choose the location of these same buttons, their number, as well as the color theme.

The on-screen keyboard is large enough for two-handed typing in a portrait position.

If you prefer to operate the device with one hand, then in a special menu item you can customize the keyboard, lock screen and gestures for left or right hand input.

The smartphone received two event indicators. The main, familiar one is located on the front panel near the earpiece. In the settings menu, the user himself can choose in which cases the light indication will occur.

The second indicator frames the power button. The key is backlit during an incoming call, message and alarm.

In addition, you can change the strength and vibration modes for incoming calls and notifications.

Korean smartphone makers like to stuff their devices with additional software chips. LG G2 can leave the screen on when you look at it, pause video playback if you turn away, or put the gadget down with the display. The last step will also help to mute the volume of the ringtone. And to answer a call, you just need to bring the device to your ear.

Sound

The miniature speaker produces loud and clear sound. You can easily hear the melody of an incoming call even in a noisy room. Its quality is also sufficient not only for watching videos, but also for listening to music. Although with good headphones, you will undoubtedly get more enjoyment from your favorite audio recordings. The smartphone supports FLAC and WAV formats.

Interface and software

LG G2 runs on Google Android 4.2.2 with a proprietary shell from the manufacturer. The interface is completely repeatable with a number of innovations and additional functions.

The hero of our review implements almost full-fledged multitasking. You can save up to three concurrent applications in a special side menu for quick access to them. To minimize the program, you just need to "swipe" it from right to left with three fingers. And to open the menu, you need to swipe three fingers from left to right.

The Guest Mode function has been added. It allows you to customize your smartphone and select applications that will be available to your child or friend. To do this, you need to select the unlock mode using a pattern that will allow you to customize the lock for different people.

Capture Plus allows you to take a screenshot of not only the screen, but the entire web page with border control. Therefore, you can read the article without any problems while riding the subway.

The video player plays the movie in a small window while rewinding and searching for the right moment. And with Zoom to Track, you can selectively zoom in on a moving subject during playback.

Performance

Here is one of the first smartphones to be powered by the Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 chipset, which includes a 2.26 GHz quad-core processor and Adreno 330 graphics. In addition, the G2 is equipped with 2 GB of RAM and 16 or 32 GB of storage without expandability.

The device is not only easy, but, without straining at all, copes with all the tasks. The gadget easily launches heavy Full HD movies, and demanding modern games run without a single freeze or glitch.

In our synthetic tests, the smartphone also showed itself at its best, occupying the first lines and outperforming competitors.

Camera

The 13 megapixel main camera received autofocus with flash, as well as optical stabilization. She can take photos with a maximum resolution of 4160 x 3120 pixels and video at 1920 x 1080 pixels, 60 fps.

The camera interface is as simple as possible. Additional shooting modes and color filters are available. You can also create a panorama or HDR photo.

There are such functions as double recording, when the main and front cameras simultaneously shoot, tracking zoom and audio zoom during video recording. The last feature allows you to focus on the selected sound source so you can hear it better. You can not only amplify the desired sound, but also get rid of unnecessary ones.

Communications

For wireless access, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules of the latest revision, NFC, LTE for access to high-speed mobile Internet, GPS, as well as Wi-Fi Direct and DLNA are provided. The infrared transmitter allows you to use your smartphone as a remote control for home devices.

In addition, there are microUSB and 3.5 mm jacks for connecting a headset. Plug & Pop gives you quick access to the programs you want by plugging in your headphones or USB cable.

Working hours

Despite its relatively light weight and thickness, the G2 is equipped with a SiO + 3000mAh battery! Even without the use of power saving mode, it provides a long battery life of the smartphone.

Considering the huge bright screen that consumes a lot of power, the device will easily last more than two days in medium load mode (1 hour of talks + about an hour of web surfing and 40 minutes of TV series a day). When watching Full HD video and surfing the web, you will only discharge the G2 after 12 hours.

By applying energy saving, you will get 4-5 additional hours.

Impression

We will not twist our hearts if we say that this is one of the best smartphones of this year and, perhaps, the most powerful flagship LG has ever produced by the company. G2 is equipped with a bright Full HD screen, a powerful mobile processor, a pleasant interface and a high-quality set of chips, including double-tap unlock. And the quality of photos and videos captured by a 13 megapixel camera with optical stabilization is beyond praise, even in the dark. And the 3000mAh battery will keep you talking, surfing the web and playing games all day long.

Is it possible not to do all this and use the LG G2 out of the box? Definitely. The main thing is not to unload programs from memory after the first launch and you will not notice any lags (except for the desktop - nothing will help here).

Getting root on LG G2

If you got to this section, then you are used to keeping everything under control and do not want to wait for handouts from the manufacturer in the form of firmware updates (in the case of LG, you can wait a very long time). After all, you can make your brand new LG G2 even better right now, most importantly. Therefore, we get on G2.

This procedure is extremely simple and there are several options. I used here with xda-developers. Here is a translation of the instructions that I used. This method seemed to me the easiest. We need a Windows computer.

You can do everything according to this video (English) or go to the Russian translation of the instructions under the video.

  1. Make sure you have installed LG Mobile USB drivers on your PC (this package is included in your phone and a pop-up window will ask you to install the software on your PC when you connect for the first time) and put the phone into "LG Software" mode in the settings menu.
  2. Click 10 times on the "Build number" item in the "Software Information" menu of the phone settings - this way you enable the hidden item "Developer options" in the phone settings menu. After that enable the "Developer Mode / USB Debugging" item.
  3. Download and unzip somewhere on your PC.
  4. Find in the unpacked folder and run root.bat - a command prompt window will open and the script will start executing. Follow the prompts on the screen.
  5. The phone will ask you to disconnect the USB connection and deactivate USB debugging - do this. Then re-enable debug mode and connect the phone to the PC with a USB cable.
  6. The script will ask you if you need to install the Superuser package. You can allow or refuse if you want to install this program yourself or plan, for example, to use SU for these purposes.
  7. After the last confirmation, the script will run, after which the device will reboot and you will get it already rooted.

Removing the on-screen buttons

If you, like me, don't like buttons that take up a lot of screen space in height, or want to make them hidden, you can do this on your LG G2 as root.

To do this, just install the GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys application. The application will check for root access at the first start and launch a service that will hide the stock buttons. Next, you can use the hidden buttons built into the application. Everything is very flexible, you can change the location of buttons, appearance, distance and height of the panel. You can configure hiding automatically or for certain actions.

In addition, you can do as I did - just disable the buttons completely and use a convenient solution instead. It's a pop-up navigation bar and more. Basically, you can place any actions and applications in it. I am using this solution for navigation only. The main advantage of using Pie is that you have navigation buttons wherever you like at the moment - just touch the edge of the screen with your finger. I kind of make a shift from the border of the screen, the panel appears, I swipe to the necessary button and after hovering it, release it. In practice, it turns out quite quickly and conveniently, especially when you use the phone with one hand - no need to intercept the device.

Turn up the volume

Our goal is to simply replace one sound setting file with another in the system folder. For this we use any file manager with root access. for example, I used Solid Explorer.

  1. Using the file manager (Root Explorer is recommended), go to the folder: / system / etc / snd_soc_msm
  2. Copy the original file "snd_soc_msm_Taiko" into an accessible section of user memory - for backup - you just need to put it back in place to roll back changes.
  3. Download the modified file "snd_soc_msm_Taiko.txt" from here:
  4. Rename the file to snd_soc_msm_Taiko (just remove .txt from the title)
  5. Put the resulting file in / system / etc / snd_soc_msm (overwrite the file).
  6. OPTIONAL: Change the permissions for the "snd_soc_msm_Taiko" file to rw ~ r ~~ r ~~
  7. Restart your smartphone and try to test the external earpiece and headphone playback. Start at a low volume. You will be surprised at the changes. Good luck!

Installing custom recovery

With the help of custom recovery, you can do many actions that we just need on a rooted phone if you want to go further and install mods from zip files. Below I will present one of these useful mods. In addition, I strongly recommend that before every change you make to the firmware, do a full nandroid backup through recovery. You can always return to its original state without any problems.

So Recovery. There are also many instructions on this subject. It is also possible even.

I chose the installation option (this is an advanced touch recovery), but you can also make the installation more classic instead. Who likes what more.

The procedure here is terribly simple:

  1. Make sure you have installed LG Mobile USB Drivers on PC. If anything, here's the link:
  2. Download the installer package to your PC and unzip it -
  3. Enable USB debugging mode on your phone and start the installation process

Installing advanced camera software

Here is one example when we need Recovery to install a mod from a zip file. This one is on the LG G2. Improves color rendering, eliminates lags and fps drops in low-light video recording, increases video bitrate and much more. You can read more about the changes and download the latest software version at the bottom of the first post of the XDA forum topic -. Also, on this page there is an option to download a stock camera if you want to return everything to its original state.

The mod setup is simple:

  1. We save the downloaded file in the internal memory.
  2. Boot into recovery. To do this, you need the Terminal Emulator program, in it we first execute the command: su and press Enter. After we write: reboot recovery.
  3. In recovery, we make a full backup through the "Backup & Restore" item (optional, but desirable).
  4. Install the update through the "Install zip" item - select the previously saved file.

findings

I have described some of the techniques and procedures that have allowed me now to get a phone that suits me. This does not mean that you must follow all the steps described. But, you might want to apply something. I told only about the solutions I tested. However, you can find other projects to change and improve the LG G2 on the corresponding one.

Finally, LG has its own "Galaxy S4"! A strange phrase, isn't it? And even a little offensive, perhaps because it draws parallels with the closest competitor ... However, we express ourselves in this exclusively positive sense - LG has long needed a worthy analogue of the "fourth galaxy", and now it has appeared - a powerful flagship called G2.

LG G2 :: Review :: Design and features

To make an interesting, attractive design of a smartphone case is a difficult task, because the flight of imagination of a design engineer is limited ... Obviously, a gadget should remain convenient in everyday use, therefore, especially extravagant ideas will not find mass demand, and all conceivable solutions from the possible in one form or another have already been touched ... In the LG G2, the designers managed to kill two birds with one stone - to make the device unusual, but not for the sake of unusualness itself, but by putting a serious rational theory under it.

The peculiarity of the device lies in the fact that along the perimeter of the edges it does not have a single button, like all other smartphones! As stated, the decision to transfer the buttons to the back cover is based on the most serious ergonomic studies of the audience's wishes - most smartphone owners believe that the buttons on the edges of the gadget are difficult to find by touch when it is urgently needed, and at the same time they are pressed spontaneously at the most unnecessary moment ... buttons from the edges at all - LG engineers considered that a breakthrough in design and ergonomics should look like this!

Under the camera's peephole there is a large and wide volume rocker, in the middle of which, in the frame of an illuminated ring, there is a silver power / unlock button. The buttons are large, like on a telephone for retirees - it's really convenient. At the same time, they can not only turn on or regulate the sound - these three keys also have a number of functions that work in the corresponding applications. For example, the lower volume button in the front camera mode takes a self-portrait, and when held, turns on the main camera from the locked state.

Whether it is convenient for EVERYONE is an open question. Surely there will be both fans and opponents of such a decision. I strongly recommend that you familiarize yourself with the device live in the communication salon before purchasing it by clicking the buttons. Although even this is not very indicative. During the test, I got used to the smartphone for about a week, constantly trying to find the button with my thumb on the edge, but after a few days I got used to this layout and felt its convenience. Someone, I am sure, will pick a chip from the first minute, but someone, it is possible, will not work with a “button on the back” in principle.

The second key design feature of the device is the ultra-thin display bezel, due to two technical solutions. The first one is a special "stepped" form of a non-removable battery, which made it possible to place it in such a way that there are no "dead zones" left inside the body that do not carry a payload, but increase the dimensions. The second is the innovative placement of contact cables leading to the display from the main board, which also contributed to a denser layout. The result was that the 5.2-inch screen was housed in the dimensions of the case, in which other manufacturers install a maximum of 4.7-5-inch displays. "Big phone in a small case" - at first glance, such a strange characteristic was discovered by me in one of the user reviews about the LG G2, and it describes this device in the best possible way!

The G2 display, by the way, deserves the highest praise. It is made using IPS technology, but is in no way inferior to AMOLED in terms of brightness and viewing angles. The edges of the protected glass are slightly smoothed, and one way to wake up the device is ... double tapping with a finger, which has always fascinated me on Nokia smartphones, starting with the N9. It's nice that this feature has also appeared in the arsenal of LG engineers!

LG G2 :: Review :: Interface features

The interface and menus of LG G2 are "covered" from above with the proprietary software shell from LG, but it does not have any pronounced features - in general, this is the most common Android. G2 will not cause any difficulties in finding certain functions, so we will not dwell on the interface in detail, but go over only the main and most interesting.

Unlock, home screen. The device can be unlocked by swiping your finger randomly - then the smartphone will wake up to the application on which it was locked. But there is also quick access to the necessary functions - for this, after pressing the power button, the user sees a row of quick access icons in front of him, slide his finger over which simultaneously unlocks the phone and launches the selected application.

Standard menus - running applications (called by holding the "house") and the events / quick settings menu (called up by sliding across the screen from top to bottom)

Icon settings - alternate icons and resizing.

Unlike the interface of applications that change their orientation based on the G-sensor signal, the main screen on most smartphones usually has a fixed vertical orientation, which is not always convenient. The LG G2 has the ability, which is not often found on Android smartphones, to flip the main screen after turning the phone, which can be turned on or off via the menu.

QSlide is a proprietary "multi-window" mode. In it, you can call on top of one application without closing or interrupting it, another in a small window and with an adjustable position on the screen and transparency. For example, if in the process of surfing the Internet you need to calculate something, you can call a calculator over the browser. The "top window" in QSlide mode can work with a dozen and a half applications.

The settings of the device are common for any "android", so we will mention only the most interesting of them. Choice of options for touch buttons - you can choose 3 or 4 control keys, as well as swap them in the way that is convenient for you or just as usual after the previous smartphone, where such adjustment was not available.

As a result, it looks like this:

Moving the keyboard. The screen of the device is rather large, and many find it difficult to reach with their thumb to the extreme left (or right, if a person is left-handed) digits when dialing a number or letters when dialing SMS. Therefore, the keyboard can be brought closer to one side of the display, so that it is convenient to use it with one hand, without risking dropping the device.

Smart screen - stays on while the phone recognizes your face with the front camera. Smart video - during video playback, the video is paused when the phone stops seeing the face. Smart ringtone - will not bother you with a sharp ringing in the room and vice versa, it will be as powerful as possible in street or traffic noise.

The Slide Aside function is a kind of alternative to the standard android function of calling the last running applications on the screen while holding the "house" button. In Slide Aside, on a running application, you need to swipe three fingers from right to left, and it will hide, continuing to work. If you swipe three fingers on the contrary - from left to right, then all minimized applications will appear - you can call the desired one or close the unnecessary one.

"Guest Mode" is an analogue of the well-known function "Children's" in smartphones on Windows Phone. A handy feature that allows you to quickly switch the phone to a mode that allows you to transfer the device into the wrong hands - to brag to friends or play with children. In the guest mode, the user can access only those predefined by the owner of the application (you can choose any) - in it a stranger or a child will not be able to delete something important, find out what he is not supposed to know, etc.

LG G2 :: Review :: Infrared port

The infrared port has returned to portable gadgets, not as an antediluvian file-sharing interface, but as a tool for controlling household appliances. We are already familiar with devices from Sony and Samsung, which are universal remotes for everything in the world, and it would be strange if the flagship from LG was deprived of this most useful function! The owner of LG G2 with a smile passes by greedy hucksters from stalls in underground passages selling low-quality Chinese copies of the original remotes - the smartphone is configured to work as a remote control for any modern technology, choosing its brand and model from the database, and is also able to serve as a remote control for unique, less common or outdated devices thanks to the learning function. It is enough to point the original remote control at the smartphone in the recording mode of a command, and the functions of the remote control will be cloned!

Creation of a new, unique remote control using a special editor.

LG G2 :: Review :: Camera

What brands of smartphones do users currently associate with high-quality photography? Well, firstly, Sony, which made a high-quality 13 megapixel sensor available, stuffing it with a lot of models in a short time - from flagship to relatively affordable, and even providing it to other, less famous manufacturers. Secondly, Nokia, whose experiments with optical stabilization and 41-megapixel sensors do not go unnoticed by the public. Thirdly, HTC, which is listed in the list of manufacturers of powerful camera phones, is actually only due to aggressive advertising of the One camera ... But LG, despite the fact that the company has a good experience in the past years in camera technology, today is not too associated with the masses with high quality mobile photography - and G2 simply must fix it!

Finally, smartphone manufacturers began to move away from the inconvenient and ugly "table" menu in cameras, and began to widely use the visual "picture" interface, which has long been adopted by soap-dish cameras. The G2 menu will not cause any difficulties even for a child, since all modes in it are provided with example pictures and comprehensive comments.

List of modes:

Modes in detail:

Manual adjustments

What is your overall impression of the G2? The camera is certainly very decent, on par with many current flagships. Many scene programs will delight the tourist, and various photo effects - children. The work of the optical stabilizer really helps when shooting in low light conditions, although the autofocus speed could be higher. The weakest point revealed during the test is the backlight, against which the camera is very dark, despite the fact that competitors' cameras already have technologies that can withstand oncoming lighting.

An example of a backlight problem - when you change the shooting angle under the same conditions, the result changes, but does not improve ... You can, of course, apply HDR - it is suitable for a landscape, but it will require a longer hold of the camera in a stationary position and the absence of moving objects.

LG G2 :: Review :: Mobile photo printing

LG G2 got to the test for Sotovik together with a funny accessory - a portable photo printer PocketPhoto. The device is cool and purely fun - for lovers of high-tech trinkets, as well as for those who are nostalgic for Polaroid - strangely enough, there are quite a few people like that!

The device has the dimensions of a smartphone, but rather plump - 72x121x24 mm and weighs 212 grams.

The gadget is charged from microUSB and is turned on with the Power button - the user does not need to carry out any more settings or operations. It is very easy to send a photo for printing - we first connect using the “blue tooth” and select the “send via Bluetooth” function on the phone. The second method is NFC, for which you just need to touch the phone with this NFC turned on and the image for printing on the screen.

PocketPhoto is not tied to the G2 - it works with any smartphones and tablets with Bluetooth or NFC interfaces. The manufacturer claims full compatibility with Android and iOS, and, apparently, this is how it is - when a Bluetooth was connected to a smartphone on a Windows Phone, the connection occurred, but immediately fell off, and when trying to send a picture to print via NFC, the Windows Phone received a link to downloading and installing the android application LG PocketPhoto, with which, of course, WP8 is incompatible.

Photos are tiny - 5x7.5 centimeters. To make it easier to understand the dimensions - almost the same as a plastic bank card. Their quality is rather bad, in places with a slight touch of "Polaroid" color.

The printer prints on special ZINK paper - this is a special paper with dyes integrated into it, which change colors under the influence of high temperature of the printer's thermal head. Polymer coating protects photos from moisture and fading from ultraviolet sunlight. The package contains ten sheets of paper - just in a stack, without any cartridge. By the way, ZINK is not an invention of LG, but an independent brand that produces inkless photo paper of various formats, under which third-party manufacturers release their gadgets.

Although this is not officially announced, but through simple comparisons, one can come to the conclusion that the LG PocketPhoto printer is an almost complete copy of the Polaroid PoGo printer, which was released in 2008 and had exactly the same geometric dimensions - with an accuracy of a millimeter, and printed on ZINK-paper of the same format! There are differences, but they do not concern the main thing - the printing unit itself. PoGo had a USB connector for wired photo transfer and a separate connector for charging its own format, while PocketPhoto had a single microUSB connector and wireless interfaces. Photo paper from PocketPhoto is loaded through the side door, and PoGo opened like a suitcase. In general, the printers are identical - PocketPhoto is actually a modern wireless version of the device, which was notorious at the time.

LG G2 :: Review :: Performance and nutrition

It is simply pointless to talk about the performance of the device ... The capacities of flagship smartphones traditionally outstrip the software requirements of popular applications, and in this case, in addition, we are dealing with the most productive platform on the market - a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 quad-core processor with a frequency of 2.26 GHz and an Adreno video core 330!

Let's conduct a simple and visual test, which I traditionally use to assess the efficiency of battery use - we charge the battery to 100%, reboot the device to clear the memory of clogging programs, turn off all wireless interfaces, except for cellular communication, set the screen brightness and volume to maximum. Launch an AVI movie that lasts 1 hour 23 minutes and weighs 1.45 GB. After completing the film, we look at the remaining battery charge using the visual and free utility "Battery" from Google Play in comparison with other smartphones with fullHD displays and powerful processors:

“The cooler the jeep, the farther to follow the tractor” - this joking saying is also relevant for flagship smartphones, which, striking in power characteristics, barely make it to the evening on a single battery charge. It is impossible, of course, to reveal a clear correlation between performance and battery capacity, but sometimes it seems that, as luck would have it, they are directly dependent - the more powerful the processor, the worse the battery ... In LG, everything is not so - the super-powerful filling is combined with a powerful battery, and without damage for the thickness of the device! A capacious 3000-mA battery easily provides two days of really active use.

LG G2 :: Review :: Impressions and conclusions

The cost of the official delivery smartphone at the start of sales is 25,000 rubles without any kopecks. What competitors (of course, "white" prices are meant) are nearby?

Today they are asking for 22,000 rubles for HTC One and Sony Xperia Z, but they have less advanced hardware and less memory. Plus, the current price for them is significantly lower than the starting price, which should be taken into account. The Samsung Galaxy S4 costs about 25,000, but with 16 gigabytes of memory. The same processor as the G2 has a processor - in the Sony Xperia Z1, but it has a more advanced camera of 20 megapixels, and it costs 30,000 rubles. The Nokia Lumia 1020 Windows Phone with a unique 41-megapixel camera costs $ 27,000, but it needs to be adjusted for software and hardware platforms, which cannot be directly compared. Prices start at 32,000 for the iPhone 5 with 16GB of storage. At the same time, the main "enemy" is undoubtedly the GS4, to which the G2, other things being equal, opposes a larger display without increasing dimensions, the presence of optical stabilization in the camera, support for high-quality Hi-Fi quality sound (24 bit / 192 kHz) for playing music in uncompressed formats , like FLAC.

This is roughly how the competitive environment around the LG G2 looks. In such an environment the device looks quite balanced in price, not being a trivial clone with a similar filling - it has a lot of serious engineering solutions, thanks to which it looks interesting and works for a long time on a single charge. At the end of November, LG announced that this device is available for sale in the Russian Federation. This unusual device was released after the flagship Optimus G, and it embodies the most interesting mobile solutions of its developers. The G2 has an excellent display resolution, a powerful processor, numerous communication options, optical image stabilization (built into the camera), and a decent amount of memory.

There are several modifications of this device, between which there are significant differences. For example, they have different ranges of the LTE standard, different capacities, etc.

A model such as D802 is officially imported to the territory of the Russian Federation. It runs on Android 4.2.2, is equipped with a 2.26 gigahertz 4-core processor, 2 gigabytes of RAM and 32 gigabytes of internal memory (without support for micro-SD cards), graphics subsystem Adreno 303, FM- tuner, GPS and GLONASS support, and a 3000 mAh battery. The smartphone has a 13 megapixel main camera (with optical stabilization, automatic focus, flash), a 2.1 megapixel front camera, a True HD-IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a diagonal of 5.2 inches. Micro SIM supported. Device dimensions: 138.5 x 70.9 x 9.1 millimeters, weight - 143 grams.

The device has a quite ordinary, but stylish design. Note the "native" IPS-screen from LG Display, as well as the protective Gorilla Glass 2. The aforementioned 13-megapixel main camera can be considered the real pride of this smartphone. As for the display, it is also quite good.

So, the main advantages of the device include its camera, support for sound in studio quality (when listening to music with headphones), a high degree of performance and a contrast screen with excellent brightness. Among the shortcomings: the absence of a memory card slot and a soiled case.
