- Launch FlashToolMod by opening the file Flash_tool.exe from the application directory.

There are a very large number of custom firmwares (mainly ports from other devices) for the 5036D smartphone from Alcatel, and it is difficult to recommend this or that solution to a specific user of the model - everyone can choose an Android shell suitable for their own preferences and tasks by installing and testing them.
As for the tool that allows you to install one of the unofficial OS, that is a modified recovery environment. We will start considering the recovery options adapted for the model with Carliv Touch Recovery (CTR)(modified version of CWM Recovery) and install two custom firmware through it - based on Android 4.4 KitKat and 5.1 Lollipop.
Step 1: Install CTR Recovery
The most correct method to integrate custom recovery into the Alcatel One Touch Pop C5 5036D is to use the capabilities provided by the FlashToolMod application.
- Download the archive containing the CTR image and the scatter file from the link above to the PC disk, unpack the resulting file.
- Run FlashToolMod and specify the path to the file after clicking on the button MT6572_Android_scatter_emmc.txt, highlight it and press "Open".
- Click on the name of the area "RECOVERY" in column "Name" the main area of the FlashToolMod window. Next, in the Explorer window, select the file CarlivTouchRecovery_v3.3-3.4.113.img and press "Open".
- Make sure the checkbox "RECOVERY"(and nowhere else) is checked and then click "Download".

Almost all unofficial (custom) operating systems can be installed in this model only after the device's memory layout has been changed, that is, the size of the system areas of the internal storage has been redistributed. The point of the procedure is to reduce the size of the partition "CUSTPACK" up to 10Mb and installing the repackaged image of this section custpack.img as well as increasing the size of the area "SYSTEM" up to 1GB, which becomes possible due to the released after compression "CUSTPACK" volume.
The easiest way to perform the above operation is by using a special zip file installed using a modified recovery.
Please note that after re-partitioning, all data in the phone will be destroyed and the device will not be able to boot into Android! Therefore, ideally, before installing the patch, read the next step (3) of this manual, download and place on the memory card a zip file with the firmware expected to be installed.
- Boot into the CTR and create a Nandroid backup of the device's memory sections. To do this, select the item "Backup / Restore" on the main recovery screen, then tap "Backup to / storage / sdcard / 0".
After waiting for the completion of the procedure, return to the first recovery screen.
- Copy the device to a removable storage device (in our example, to the folder "Inst") package for re-layout.
By the way, files can be transferred to the smartphone storage without leaving the CarlivTouchRecovery environment. To do this, tap the button on the main recovery screen Mounts / Storage, then Mount USB storage... Connect the device to your PC - Windows will recognize it as a removable storage device. After copying the files, tap "Unmount".
- From the home screen of the environment, select Install Zip then tap ... Next, find the folder where the patch was copied in the list of directories that appears on the screen, and open it.
