Why is this so important? The fact is that the password that you enter when you try to log into VKontakte is case-critical, i.e. in it, the lowercase Latin letter "a" does not allow replacement by the same capital letter. Actually, if the password when entering it on the VK website would be visible, then you yourself would understand that something is wrong here, and would start looking for the reason. But since the password is not visible when you enter (each of the characters you entered is replaced by a period), it is not easy to track it down.
For clarity, you can enter the password in some text editor, and then in the input field on the Contact website - this will completely eliminate the influence of unforeseen factors, for example, associated with the accidentally pressed "Caps Lock" key
Look in what position is input language switcher on your computer. Usually, an indication of this is displayed in the lower right corner of the screen (in the so-called tray). If it says "RU" or something else other than "en", then you will need to switch the input language to English. You can simply click on this icon and select the desired language, or you can use hotkeys (most often it is either Shift + Alt, or Shift + Control).

Well, again, because when you enter a password on the VK website, you do not see the characters that you enter, and if you have selected Russian, then instead of Latin letters, you enter their Russian counterparts that live on the same keyboard buttons ... In Windows 7, finding this file will be a little more difficult, since this path is hidden from the user. We go to the C drive, enter the word "hosts" in the search and click ENTER. After the end of the search, open the found file in notepad. You may need to first open Notepad in administrator mode by right-clicking and selecting "Run as administrator".

If the file contains entries related to Contact, Odnoklassniki, then we can safely delete them, leaving the last line "localhost".

We save the changes made to hosts, close notepad and restart the computer. After these steps, in most cases, access to the social network is restored.

If you installed various programs related to a social network (bootloaders, VKontakte clients) on your computer, then immediately remove them through the "Programs and Features" item in the "Control Panel".
