  • Above, enter your username and password.
  • Since we are setting up Yandex. Mail ", then enter imap.yandex.ru into the server line. Often this data is already there.
  • Next, you need to select the SSL / TLS security type, after which the value in the port line will change from 143 to 993.

To work with Yandex mail, it is not necessary to use the web interface. Android OS has built-in mail services, as well as a client as a separate application. This article is dedicated to helping you figure out how to set up Yandex mail on any Android device.

How to connect Yandex mail

The user can choose from several methods of connecting mail:

  1. Yandex.Mail client.
  2. POP3 and IMAP protocol in Android OS.
  3. POP3 and IMAP in third-party applications.

The Yandex.Mail client is an application that is installed separately and configured to work with the Yandex. This is the easiest way to view, edit, and send emails, and is suitable for novice users. It is also the best option if Yandex is the only used mail service.

POP3 and IMAP are used to access e-mail. For work, installation of an additional application is not required, since the Android OS has built-in tools. This option is convenient when several services are used, for example, Mail.ru and Rambler. If necessary, the mail service can be easily connected to the main account, for example with "Gmail".

Using POP3 and IMAP in third-party applications is an alternative, in case the standard Android features do not fit or do not suit.

How to set up mail using the Yandex.Mail client

  1. Download and install the application for free from our resource or the Google Play store.
  2. Run the program, enter your account login and password. If necessary, the client supports the creation of a new account.
  3. Wait for authorization, and then configure the program according to personal preferences.

  6. You will be asked to provide data for Gmail, where you need to click "Allow".
  7. Specify the sync frequency and other parameters.
  8. After adding an account, synchronize the data, as well as specify additional parameters for the mail operation.

If you choose to manually enter information or automatic configuration is not supported, please specify the options below.

If there is no support for SLL protection, you should select the option "no" and port 110.

  2. Port - 465.
  3. Security type - SSL / TLS.

If there is no support for SLL protection, you should select the option "none" and port 587 or 25.

How to set up Yandex mail via POP3 and IMAP in third-party applications

Install one of your preferred apps - K-9 Mail, ProfiMail Go, or Mail Droid. The algorithm of actions is similar: specify the mail and password, manually set the parameters above, or use automatic configuration.

Output

When setting up Yandex mail, it is preferable to use the POP3 and IMAP protocols in the Android OS. This will save storage space and reduce the load on RAM. In case of unsuccessful setup or for a novice user, it is rational to start by using the Yandex.Mail client. If the branded client does not suit you, then use third-party applications.

(3 estimates, average: 3,67 out of 5)

When using the IMAP protocol, the email client syncs with the server and saves the structure of folders in your mailbox. Messages that you send from the email client will be saved both on your computer and on the server, and you can access them from various devices.

Enable IMAP protocol before configuring your email client:

To set up an email client for the IMAP protocol, you need to specify the following:

Incoming mail

    mail server address - imap.yandex.com

    connection security - SSL

    port - 993

Outgoing mail

    connection security - SSL

    port - 465

com "

IMAP support will be enabled automatically the first time you log in to the mail program.

Configure POP3-based client

When using POP3, all messages from the folders that you select in the menu Settings → Email clients will be saved by the mail client on your computer in the Inbox. If necessary, you can set up filters in the email client to automatically move messages to the desired folders. Messages you send will only be saved on your computer.

Note. When you download email from the server over POP3, Yandex.Mail automatically saves a copy of each message, but you can delete them from the web interface. To remove email using an email client, use IMAP.

Enable POP3 protocol before configuring your email client:

To set up a mail client for the POP3 protocol, you must specify the following:

Incoming mail

    mail server address - pop.yandex.com

    connection security - SSL

    port - 995

Outgoing mail

    mail server address - smtp.yandex.com

    connection security - SSL

    port - 465

For access to the mail server, provide your Yandex username and password (or the if you enabled two-factor authentication). If you are configuring email delivery from a mailbox such as “ [email protected]com ", your username is the first part of the address before the “@” sign.

Attention. We do not recommend using your provider "s mail server for sending mail in your name on Yandex.

You can set up message delivery over POP3 from any folder, including Spam. To do this, go to Settings → Email clients and select the folders.

By default, when downloading folder contents using email clients, messages are not marked as read. If you want to mark the received messages as read, enable the corresponding option.

Problems with the email client

The mail client gives me an error message

Select the message you received:

"No connection with server"

If you receive a message that there is no connection with the server, try reentering your username and password in the web interface.

Make sure that the protocol you want to use is checked in.

Make sure the settings of your mail program are configured exactly as given below:

for IMAP addresses imap.yandex.ru and port 993 with SSL

for SMTP addresses smtp.yandex.ru and port 465 with SSL

for POP3 addresses pop.yandex.ru and port 995 with SSL

If you receive “Message rejected under suspicion of SPAM”, it means that Yandex.Mail determined that the contents of your email were spam. To resolve the problem, open the Yandex.Mail and send a test email. This shows the system that messages are not being sent by a robot.

Also, check your computer for viruses using free antivirus programs, like CureIt! from Dr.Web and Virus Removal Tool from “Kaspersky Lab”.

A mail program does not receive or send emails

If an email program does not receive or send emails, check your email client settings and your internet connection settings.

If you use an anti-virus program, firewall, or proxy server, disable them and see if the problem persists.

Select a problem:

When you delete an email message, it is sent to the Trash folder, where it is stored for 30 days. Messages can be restored during this period:

    Go to Trash.

    Click To folder.

Email deleted longer than one month ago cannot be restored - they are permanently removed from the Yandex.Mail servers.

If email messages are not in the folder where they should be, they probably ended up in another folder, such as Trash or Spam. search for the message

Did you find the email?

You can recover email:

Select the messages you want to restore.

    Click To folder.

If you don "t find the email manually or with a search, this means they can" t be restored - they have been permanently removed from the Yandex.Mail servers.

Why email disappears and how to avoid this

Emails is stored in the Trash folder for 30 days and in the Spam folder for 10 days. Afterwards, they are permanently removed from the Yandex servers. Why email may end up in these folders without your knowing it:

Another user has access to your mailbox

Messages may be deleted by a user who has access to your mailbox if you forgot to log out on someone else "s device. To close the session, click Log out from all devices in the account menu. You can also do this on the page from the link Log out on all computers.

Email gets lost in the email client

If you use an email client and delete email in it, messages are removed from the as well. You can delete messages from the client, but leave them in Yandex.Mail by configure the client using POP3, but we don "t recommend this as messages might not sync correctly with the server.

This is a filter that deletes or moves email messages Make sure there are no that delete incoming messages or move them to other folders. If this is the case, temporarily disable them and check if messages arrive in your Inbox folder.

If new messages are not in the Inbox, they most likely ended up in another folder, such as Trash or Spam. If you remember the sender "s name or address or a part of the message text or subject, try to search for the message in all the folders in your mailbox.

Did you find the email?

If you found the email in Trash, Spam or another folder, you most likely that delete messages or move them to Spam or another folder. If this is the case, disable them temporarily and check if the messages arrive in your Inbox.

If the new messages are still missing, check that you entered your email address correctly on the website you expect to receive email from. Find out if the sender wrote your email address correctly.

Check that the site "s or sender" s email address hasn "t been.

Sent mail is not displayed in my mail client

If your mail client doesn "t display sent email, it probably means that it uses POP3. Due to certain features of the POP3 protocol, email client mail may not sync correctly with the server. We recommend using the IMAP protocol for Yandex.Mail. For details on how to switch between POP3 and IMAP, see Switching from POP3.

Messages are copied on the server when deleted / moved using IMAP

Message copying during the movement or deletion over IMAP is based on special features of the IMAP protocol and synchronization settings of email clients. In this event, folders should be forced to synchronize with the server so that the data matches after the actions are performed. In Mozilla Thunderbird, the Compact function must be used.

A non-delivery report is received after sending the message

The report always refers to the cause for non-delivery. For details on the most frequent reasons, see Message was sent, but didn "t reach the recipient.

I get errors due to an incorrect certificate

If during the activation of SSL-encryption you get errors about an incorrect certificate, make sure that the mail client and the operating system are configured correctly:

The correct time (without any delays and “dates from the future”) is set on the computer. If a wrong date is set, the system erroneously defines the certificate period as not yet started or already elapsed.

Checking of the HTTPS-connections is disabled in the settings of your antivirus software To change your antivirus settings, see our instructions for Kaspersky Internet Security and ESET NOD32 Smart Security in the I see an error in the security certificate section.

Add the certificate to the list of trusted certificates manually (Windows)

Attention. If you are not sure that you can install the certificate yourself, contact a specialist.

To add the certificate to the list of trusted certificates:

    Open the Start menu.

Enter certmgr.msc in the search field and press Enter.

In the program, click on the folder in the folder tree.

Right-click on Certificates in the right part of the window and choose All tasks → Import.

    Click Next.

Click on View and select the earlier downloaded file CA.pem. Click Next.

Leave the default settings in the Storage of certificates section and click Next.

    Click Done.

(Optional) Click Accept in the popup window.

Click on the folder Trusted root certification authorities→ Certificates in the folder tree.

In the list of certificates (on the right), find the certificate Certum CA, right-click on it and select Properties.

    Go to the General tab.

We configure the mailbox to our domain name of the site on the Yandex.

The box can be made of any kind:
[email protected]

At the same time, manage mail via Yandex.

There are two ways to set up mail on Yandex. The first is to delegate the DNS server to Yandex. In this case, the mail MX records will configure themselves. The second is when DNS is on a third-party server.

Below we will analyze the mail settings when dns are not on Yandex.

All mail will be stored on Yandex and processed through it, but at the same time it will have any address indicating your domain.

We go to the address:
https://pdd.yandex.ru

Add domain:

Now we go to the site where the DNS of our site is registered. There we open the DNS records tab, it looks something like this:

And we enter the following data:

1.

Domain name:
@

Record type:
MX

Data:
mx.yandex.net.

A priority:
10

2.

domain name
@

Record type:
TXT

Data:
v = spf1 ip4: 111.111.111.111 include: _spf.yandex.net ~ all

Instead of 111.111.111.111, you need to insert your site ip address.

If you want mail.moi-sait.ru to be uploaded to the Yandex mail page at the site address, then you need to add the following:

3.

domain name
mail

Data:
domain.mail.yandex.net.

Record type:
CNAME

Now we return to the Yandex website and create mail using the link below in the screenshot:

There we go into it, fill out the form and get into our mailbox.

After these steps (if the site's DNS is configured correctly and the site itself works as a result), the mail should work.

Are you using the Yandex mail service and purchased an Android smartphone? Then you will definitely like having access to mail from your device. For this, various mail programs are used, both original and third-party. Setting up Yandex mail on Android is simple and does not cause any difficulties for owners of smartphones and tablets. Let's see what programs you can use to access your mailbox.

Yandex mail via browser

The easiest way to access your mail is to use a browser and open the Yandex mail interface. Next, enter the login and password for your mailbox, click on the login button and get into a pleasant and convenient web interface. But on the screen of a mobile device, it may not be so convenient.

The disadvantages of this way of organizing mail access are:

Nevertheless, many users continue to use the web interface, unaware of the availability of other tools... Therefore, we decided to talk about them in our review.

Yandex.Mail application

Yandex provides its users not only with a mail service, but also with convenient tools for working with mailboxes. Such a tool is the Yandex.Mail application located in the Play Market store. Configuring Yandex mail on Android comes down to installing this application and setting it up for the first time.

After installing and launching the application, fields for entering a username and password will appear on the screen. We enter the data, wait for the connection to the servers, click on the "Go to Mail" button and go to the main interface of the program. Here you can see outgoing and incoming messages, a folder with drafts, a folder with spam, and a folder with deleted messages. Sorting elements are available - this is the display of important letters, unread letters and letters with attachments.

To protect letters from unauthorized access, PIN-code protection is provided- it is configured in the application settings. Here you can configure sound notifications (it is possible to set a notification schedule). There is another important item in the settings - adding another mailbox, which is very convenient.

The application works online, without downloading letters and their subsequent synchronization. Thanks to this, users can work with mail from multiple devices - for example, by starting to write a letter on a computer, you can continue writing on a smartphone or tablet by going to the folder with drafts. Notification of new messages in the application is carried out in real time.

Third Party Applications

In order to set up Yandex mail on Android, you can use more universal solutions. Such a solution is the Mail.ru Mail application. It allows you to work with mailboxes from many other mail services.... This includes the Yandex mail service. Accounts are added both at the first start of the application and later. You don't need to make any additional settings - just enter your username and password, and the program will do the rest by itself.

A nice addition will be the availability of online check for new letters, as it is implemented in the "native" mail application from Yandex.

The Play Market store can also delight you with many other applications for working with Yandex mail. But in this case, you will have to enter manual settings in them - here you specify the addresses of POP3, SMTP and IMAP servers, set the necessary ports, register logins and passwords. For an unprepared user, this may seem complicated, so we recommend that you use the above applications - they have excellent functionality and user-friendly interfaces.
