All Nokia models with a retractable qwerty keyboard. Phones with QWERTY keyboards

Unfortunately, every year the number of phones with QWERTY keyboards is decreasing. At the moment, this type of phone has been almost completely replaced by touchscreen phones. But, there are still users willing to buy similar gadgets. If you are one of them, then this article will be useful to you. Here we take a look at a number of QWERTY keyboard phones that are still on sale.

The Nokia Asha 205 is a very budget phone with a QWERTY keyboard. At the moment, this model costs less than 3000 rubles.

This phone is built on the Series 40 platform and has very modest technical specifications. The screen of the device has a diagonal of 2.4 inches and a resolution of 320 × 240. The resolution of the camera is only 0.3 megapixels. The phone is equipped with 64 megabytes of internal memory. You can expand the built-in memory using microSD memory cards. For the life of the phone cares battery with capacity of 1020 mAh. According to the manufacturer, this should be enough for 11 hours of talk time or 600 hours of call standby time.

The phone is equipped with a minimal set of multimedia functions. With it, you can listen to music in MP3, AAC, WAV and WMA formats. There is also support for FM radio.

Nokia Asha 210 is a more advanced phone model with a QWERTY keyboard. Phone Nokia Asha 210 received a screen with a diagonal of 2.4 inches and a resolution of 320 × 240. The camera has a resolution of 2 megapixels.

Support for multimedia formats is quite wide. With Nokia Asha 210, you can watch videos in MP4, ASF, AVI, 3GP and M4V format. There is also support for MP3 audio format and FM radio.

The volume of internal memory is only 32 megabytes, but there is a slot for installing microSD memory cards. Supports memory cards up to 32 gigabytes.

The battery capacity is 1200 mAh, which should be enough for 12 hours of talk time or 40 hours of listening to music.

The Nokia Asha 302 is the most advanced QWERTY phone from Nokia that you can still find in stores. This phone is equipped with a 2.4 inch screen with a resolution of 320 × 240. Camera resolution 3.2 megapixels. There is support for 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The multimedia capabilities of this phone allows you to play video in MPEG4, WMV, 3GPP formats, as well as audio in MP3, AAC, WAV, WMA formats. In addition, the user can listen to FM radio.

Also worth noting is a 1 gigahertz processor and 128 megabytes of RAM. There is support for memory cards up to 32 gigabytes. The battery has a capacity of 1320 mAh, which allows you to use this phone up to 9 hours of talk time and up to 50 hours of listening to music.

If Nokia products are not to your liking or you just want a more advanced model of a phone with a QWERTY keyboard, then you should pay attention to the BlackBerry Q10. One of the main features of this model is its operating system. The Q10 model runs under the proprietary BlackBerry OS operating system, which is specially designed to work with a QWERTY keyboard.

The screen of the device has a diagonal of 3.1 inches and a resolution of 720 × 720. Camera resolution 8 megapixels. The phone can play video in MP4, WMV, H.263, H.264 formats, as well as audio in MP3, AAC and WMA formats. From the unusual multimedia capabilities, it should be noted HDMI output, with which you can display the image on a TV or monitor.

As a hardware platform, a 2-core processor with a clock speed of 1.5 gigahertz is used here, as well as 2 gigabytes of RAM. The amount of built-in memory is 16 gigabytes. In this case, the user can install a memory card with a capacity of up to 32 gigabytes. Battery capacity 2100 mAh.

Nokia C3 - this is a low-budget phone, which is lower in class than the E series. It is easy to confuse it with devices, since it looks very similar to them due to the presence of a full-size QWERTY keyboard, and also has a similar form factor. This is where the similarities end, since Nokia C3 does not have Symbian or any other operating system.

The Finnish giant has given the phone a number of features that make it an effective messaging device. The Nokia C3 also stands out for its built-in social networking services (Twitter, Facebook), as well as Ovi Chat and Wi-Fi connectivity and QWERTY keyboard.

Announced in April 2010, Nokia C3 hit the shelves in June, and at the moment its price (without contract) is 100 euros. Nokia fans can choose from three color schemes in which the phone is made - gray (Slate Gray), white and gold (Golden White) and pink (Hot Pink).

Design

Despite the fact that Nokia C3 is an "entry-level" phone, it looks quite impressive thanks to the keyboard and form factor that are typical for smartphones. In fact, without being a connoisseur, it can be easily confused with the E-series smartphones. The stylish handset measures 115.5 x 58.1 x 13.6 mm and weighs about 114 grams (including the battery). The sleek and shiny Nokia C3 is “sensitive” to fingerprints, as the manufacturer used polished plastic in the construction of the case, which is easily dirty, especially after the phone comes into contact with the ear. Well, so, no problems in terms of assembly with this phone are observed.

The front panel of the phone is divided into two areas - a 2.4-inch display and a full-size QWERTY keyboard. You can also notice the standard set of keys - two contextual ones, the Accept / Reject keys and a large D pad. It can be used as an Enter key by clicking on it in the middle. Two more keys that replace “Symbian menu” and “Clear (Delete)” are made in the form of metal stripes between the context keys and the buttons for accepting and rejecting a call, as you can see in the photo.

The Communities key allows you to quickly connect with your friends. The full-size QWERTY keyboard looks the same as in the Nokia 71. It has 37 keys and is comfortable and responsive. This makes the typing process clear and enjoyable.

The 2 megapixel camera on the back of the phone lacks flash and autofocus. Next to it, on the right, is a small speaker marked with a "grid". The battery cover is made of a metal alloy, which gives the phone a certain level of solidity. The back cover is removed by pressing the clips on the sides of the phone. The left side of the phone houses a microSD card slot and a microUSB port. Both of these slots are closed in the classic way - with small plastic strips. However, they are quite difficult to open, but relatively easy to break.

There are no keys on the right side of the phone, which means users have to use the D-pad to adjust the volume while talking or listening to music through the player. There is also nothing on the bottom end, and a headphone jack (3.5 mm standard) and a charging port are located on the top end of the device.

In general, this phone gives the impression of being well-built, compact, stylish and very elegant. If you like it, but for a number of reasons you cannot afford it, then Nokia C3 will definitely be the best choice if you do not need a smartphone.

Display and camera

The C3 has a small 2.4-inch LCD with 262 million colors and a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. The screen size, as well as the image quality, match those of the E-series devices. The colors and contrast of the images are excellent, and given the good brightness even in sunlight, we get a screen that can satisfy all the user's requirements.

The 2-megapixel camera has only a few basic functions and settings, no autofocus or flash. Maybe the camera is one of the weak points of the device, but, in the end, this model is not positioned as a "camera phone".

The camera interface does not have anything new and in this sense remains quite simple. Images are previewed in full screen mode. The user can change the white balance (automatic, sunny weather, incandescent, fluorescent) and color tone (normal, sepia, black and white, negative). The changes will not affect the photos in a positive way, since the quality of the camera module is too low. As you can see from the photos below, there is a lot of noise and the detail in the photo is negligible.

Nokia C3, in general, is unfairly equipped with such a weak camera, but if you do not have special requirements for this part of the phone, then it will not cause any problems. The maximum resolution that can be used for shooting is 1600x1200 pixels, and the maximum resolution for watching movies is 320x240 pixels (at 20 frames per second).

Menu and software

The Nokia C3 runs on the S40 6th Edition interface and is the newest user interface from Nokia. As the most user-friendly on the market overall, the S40 is stable and delivers a good experience. However, there are some new "tricks" and changes that will take the experience to a different level. So, the icons in the menu have been changed, and the 3D animation has been removed.

The proprietary firmware includes Flash Lite 3 and MMS 1.3 player. Message support has been improved to allow attachments up to 600KB in size. Improved support for WMA and WMV codecs. The phone has several useful programs such as search, alarm clock, calendar, to-do list, notes, calculator, countdown timer, world clock and stopwatch.

The menu is fully customizable and you can assign any MP3, MIDI or AAC file as your ringtone. Up to 2000 contacts can be saved in a contact list, and each contact can have up to 5 different phone numbers. You can also customize the fonts, but only those that appear when you open Contacts, Web Browser, and Messages.

We've also noticed a new category in the main menu - Communities. Users can log in and set up their Twitter and Facebook accounts and use chat on these services at the same time. The file manager, which used to be located in the Photos section, has now been moved to the Application / Gallery section. The standard Nokia browser has been replaced by another - MiniOpera for faster loading of web pages.

Also preinstalled are some games written in Java - Blockd, Bounce Tales, and Sudoku. The phone is compatible with Java MIDP 2.1 applications, but there is a limitation on the size of installed programs, usually 1 MB. And it will affect most Java-compatible applications.

Communication options

Nokia C3 is fully compatible with GPRS and EDGE Class 32 standards, but is not compatible with 3G networks. Tests show good phone performance in terms of data transfer (EDGE 179 kbps download and 72 kbps download), but this can greatly depend on the location of the phone and the service provider.

The phone is equipped with Bluetooth 2.1 and microUSB 2.0. Synchronization with a personal computer is possible through its own microUSB port, but recharging through it is not possible.

The device features the Opera Mini browser, which replaces the WebKit-based HTML interned browser. The previous browser rendered pages less accurately than the current one, but pages loaded faster. You can also say that scrolling has become slow, but at least Flash 3.0 support is fine. The old HTML browser based on WebKit has not disappeared anywhere, it is there, but it is not used to access the Internet.

As for messages, the phone accepts standard text messages, MMS 1.3 (with 600 KB attachments), as well as e-mail. The messaging client works with POP3, SMTP, and IMAP4 and also supports more than one email account.

The Community category allows users to log into their Facebook and Twitter accounts and chat with family or friends. Ovi Chat is also a instant messaging service, but it is not very widespread among users.

One of the great features of the phone is definitely that it can communicate with a local area network using WLAN IEEE 802.11 b / g, which will save on data transfer costs.

The device supports 4 communication standards (GSM 850 / GSM 900 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900), but has a mediocre GSM signal reception quality. However, the sound is high quality and loud at both ends, despite the fact that the “Voice Clarity” technology is absent here. Unfortunately, the vibrating alert is not very pronounced, which can lead to a large number of missed calls if the phone is in the Silent profile.

Processor and memory

The phone is equipped with an ARM11 processor operating at 369 MHz. It lacks multitasking options, so you won't be able to switch the browser to the background while you read your email. It may sound negative, but you will not have problems with many applications running at the same time.

The phone memory is 64 MB SDRAM, but only 55 of them are provided for free use by the owner. The memory can be expanded up to 8 GB, as there is a slot for a microSD memory card. The scope of delivery includes a 2 GB card.

Multimedia capabilities

The built-in player looks pretty decent and has a decent set of features. Even though it is not marketed as a "musical" phone, the phone has a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, complete with wired headphones (WH-102). The music player is compatible with a variety of formats - AAC, AAC +, eAAC +, MP3, WMA and AMR-NB. The interface has not changed, but it is still good enough for an entry-level phone.

The player has features such as equalizer, stereo widening, repeat and random song selection. The equalizer can be adjusted, or you can apply preset modes - normal, pop, rock, classical and jazz. I was pleasantly surprised by the good sound quality, although we are talking about a device that belongs to the initial price segment and is not positioned as a "musical" one.

The lack of hardware keys for the music player can be compensated for by Bluetooth headphones, since the phone supports the A2DP standard. The small speaker on the back sounds moderate in intensity, but the sound will be muffled when the phone is placed on the table. There is also a radio with RDS function, which can replace the player, and you can memorize up to 20 radio stations.

The built-in video player is not worth much attention, since the display is still small, and it recognizes a small number of video codecs (3GP and MP4 formats).

Battery

The rechargeable Li-Ion 1320 mAh BL-5J battery has an official standby time of 800 hours and about 7 hours of talk time. These values \u200b\u200bare close to those of the E-series phones, so we can talk about a high level of autonomy. After a week of testing, this autonomy was impressive, as the need to recharge occurred only twice a week. Not a very active user, perhaps, will recharge the device once a week, which is more than worthy for such a device.

Impressions

Nokia C3 is simply the “holy grail” for chat fans or a heaven for chat lovers. Although I am in love with the Nokia E series, my opinion is not biased when I say that the C3 is one of the best low budget phones on the market. Sure, tastes may vary, but if you want a budget phone with a QWERTY keyboard and Wi-Fi, this is exactly what you want.

What well

The Nokia C3 phone has as a basis the features of the E-series smartphones, although functionally it is completely different. Since it has a full-size QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi and an excellent battery, we can say that the Nokia C3 has the basic options inherent in the E-series. There are other "delights" that can be found in this device: social networking services (Twitter, Facebook ), high quality music sound, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, microSD expansion card slot, 3.5mm headphone jack, stereo FM radio with RDS support, and excellent 2.4-inch display. And when you consider that you can get all of this for just € 100, this phone is a great buy.

What is wrong

We can say that a possible reason for refusing to buy this phone could be the poor quality of the camera module and the inability to view documents. Other minor drawbacks include the lack of multitasking, which is very useful if you use multiple instant messaging services, and the lack of smart connect functionality. In addition, there is no possibility of recharging via a microUSB cable.

Material content Nokia C3:

Later, a series of different 68xx devices appeared, which had an ingenious folding system, thanks to which the designers were able to create both a full-fledged and a fairly compact keyboard in acceptable dimensions.

You cannot score large, convenient for the implementation of business plans, devices of the 9th series. Looking at the wide range of QWERTY-equipped devices that have been released in recent years, you are imbued with respect for a company that was not afraid to experiment with form and content.

Once there was an opinion that a wide segment of users did not need QWERTY: a keyboard of this type was a feature of quite expensive devices, often such communication means were also bulky, which also did not bring joy to everyone. But as time went on, work continued on creating a device with a moderate size and a moderately comfortable keyboard.

Three new phones are expected to appear on sale soon, these are the C3, C6 and E5 models. In this material we will share with you our impressions of meeting them.

The device is based on the Series 40 platform, for a long time there were no Nokia phones (not smartphones) with QWERTY-keyboards - this segment was given to “smart” devices, but now the situation has changed radically. The main argument when choosing this phone is the price. The phone is expected to go on sale for 5,000 rubles. At the same time, according to its characteristics, the model turned out to be very interesting, which will allow once again to think about buying such an affordable phone, but with wide capabilities.

Design

The dimensions of the C3 are: 115.5 x 58.1 x 13.6 mm, weight 114 grams. The candy bar is made of plastic, and it is different: the front of the phone is made of a glossy material (by the way, it is quite easily soiled), while the back is made of more practical matte plastic.

The design is not so simple: the front panel has small beveled ends, the joystick border and a couple of additional keys are covered with silver paint.

At the top of the front panel there is an oval opening for the earpiece, below it is a 2.4-inch screen. The block of keys and the keyboard are similar in style to the "older" devices. There is a microSD card slot on the left side of the phone, next to it there is another one for connecting a microUSB cable. On the right, there are no keys, alas, but due to the budget of the device, it was deprived of dedicated buttons. To adjust the volume, you must use the joystick for this action.

It's great that the developers did not save on the design of the phone: there is a key on the sides of the phone, by pressing which you can remove the back cover, a similar scheme is used in the E71, but for some reason it was simplified, as a result of which the back panel sits in its place not so tight.

Under the cover is a 1320 mAh battery, which can be removed to gain access to the SIM card.

It's nice to see metal in the phone belonging to such an accessible segment - a removable cover is made of it, inside it is carefully glued with a pair of foam rubber pads, which helps to avoid backlash.

At the bottom of the body there is a strap mount, at the top are the camera lens and speaker holes.

On the top there is both a hole for connecting a charger and a 3.5 mm jack for connecting your favorite headphones.

The phone is expected in three colors: Slate Gray, Hot Pink, Golden White. Although the photo shows a blue sample, it is possible that such a modification will be in service.

Screen

TFT-display with a diagonal of 2.4 inches and a resolution of 320x240 pixels shows 262 thousand colors. Its characteristics are similar to those used in E71, E63 and other devices: a bright picture with good viewing angles.

Keyboard

Next to the navigation key, there are not only the usual buttons for accepting and rejecting a call, as well as function keys, but the phone also acquired a couple of additional buttons, becoming even more similar to its older brothers in the lineup: the left button is responsible for quick access to contacts, the right one allows start a chat. It's a pity, but you cannot reassign these keys to other functions.

The keypad is comfortable, pressing is soft and pleasant. The device was not localized for the Cyrillic alphabet, but judging by the similar layout of foreign E71, we can assume that engraving will be applied in C3 according to a similar principle.

Menu

The phone is based on the 6th version of Series 40. A distinctive feature is large, easy-to-read features: when buying a phone for a child, there is no need to be afraid that he will have vision problems due to small characters. Conveniently, when you first start the phone, a special interface setup wizard is launched to help you quickly adapt the phone to your needs.

Due to the horizontal orientation of the screen, the interface has been redesigned for more convenient work with the phone, it meets the user with a menu with 12 icons, which can be displayed as a list, the possibilities for adapting the phone are equivalent to other devices on this platform, for example.

Media

Designed for an audience of young users, a modern phone is unthinkable without a jack that allows you to use high-quality headphones, which means that the 3.5 mm hole in the C3 is just right. A conveniently located flash-memory slot is located on the side, it is possible to “hot swap” the card without having to turn off the phone. Radio lovers have not been forgotten either - the phone supports this popular function as well.

The camera is simple, 2 megapixel, without flash and autofocus.

The user has access to 55 megabytes of phone memory, support for memory cards up to 8 GB is declared.

Connections

The phone operates in the EGSM 850 \\ 900 \\ 1800 \\ 1900 bands. There is Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR and USB 2.0.

A distinctive feature of this model is the presence of Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g. The ability to use a home access point or free public hotspots will undoubtedly appeal to users, and for the first time, perhaps, Wi-Fi has become available in a device of this price range.

Thanks to the capacious battery, the operating time can be up to 8 hours in talk mode and up to 500 hours in standby mode, and up to 30 hours of operation in the player mode is also claimed.

Conclusion

The model turned out to be very pleasant and interesting: a rich set of media and entertainment functions (comfortable keyboard, 3.5 mm jack, quick access to a memory card, Wi-Fi), a smart interface, clear and convenient, coupled with good build quality will make the phone very, very popular , just look at the price tag and the list of device features.

Nokia E5 ranks higher. If the E63, which appeared a couple of years ago, has become a fairly inexpensive alternative to the E71, now it has a replacement in the face of a new device.

Design

Externally, the phone resembles another device - the hero of our recent review. And all thanks to the large shiny plate under the screen, which combines the block of control keys. This is where the stylistic similarity ends, and then there are associations with the QWERTY brothers.

Dimensions 115 x 58.9 x 12.8 mm almost exactly repeat the dimensions of E63 (113 x 59 x 13 mm), and the weight is generally identical and equal to 126 grams.

The main material from which the smartphone is made is plastic. In E63 it was soft-touch, more pleasant than in this device.

At the top, one after the other, there is a hole for a 2 mm charger, a 3.5 mm jack and a slot for a microUSB cable covered with a cap.

There is a volume rocker on the right side of the phone.

The design for removing the back cover is similar to the E71: on both sides of the smartphone there is a button, by pressing which the back panel is snapped off.

In E5 it is made of metal, it is held in the mounts very tightly, without backlash. But the photographs show that, as in C5, it is quite delicate and minor scratches and abrasions are possible.

On the back there is a 5-megapixel camera lens and a flash that can also work as a flashlight.

There are many color options, as many as 5 pieces: Carbon Black, Chalk White, Copper Brown, Silver Gray, Sky Blue.

Screen

A display with a diagonal of 2.36 inches is used, the resolution is the same 240x320 pixels, 256 thousand colors are displayed, there is a light sensor. Subjectively, the screen is not as bright as in the E71 (in which it is similar to that used in the E63 and shows up to 16 million colors), or is this a specific sample.

Keyboard

The block of soft keys has lost a couple of buttons, there is no more quick access to contacts and calendar (these applications were assigned by default, they could be reassigned to other functions), only a reassignable mail button remained.

In appearance, the layout, as in the case of the C3, is similar to the E71, so it remains to count on a similar concept. The buttons themselves are similar to those in the E63, so it's hard to say anything special about them: whoever is comfortable with the keyboard in it, the C6 will not disappoint.

Platform

The smartphone is based on Symbian 9.3 Feature Pack 2, like all devices of a similar level, it works quickly and understands, the advantages in speed compared to the previous generation (E63 \\ E71) are tangible, especially if you disable animation effects in themes.

The user has access to 256 MB of memory, a 2 GB card will be included in the kit, while the device itself works with cards up to 32 GB.

Connections

Work in networks 850/900/1800/1900, and there is also support for 3G, HSDPA up to 10.2 Mbps and HSUPA up to 2 Mbps.

E5 has Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP and AVRCP support, Wi-Fi is also present.

Media

A 3.5 mm jack is no longer a rarity, Nokia installs it in most of its new devices, and it is present here too. In addition to listening to the player, the radio will help pass the time.

The camera is 5 megapixel, it lacks autofocus, video is recorded in 640x480 resolution at 15 frames per second.

A-GPS appeared, which was absent in the E63. Again, thanks to the free Nokia Maps preinstalled in the device, you won't have to pay for navigation.

Working hours

A different battery is used here, it has a smaller capacity (1200 versus 1500 mAh in the E63), but the operating time is much longer: up to 18.5 hours of talk time, up to 705 hours in standby mode, 38 hours in the player's mode. For comparison, the figures for E63: 11 hours of talk time, 430 hours of standby time, 18 hours of music playback.

Apparently, serious work has been done on optimization and power consumption, which made it possible to obtain such a tangible increase in life expectancy.

Conclusion

In general, the impressions are mixed: on the one hand, the phone is on the new platform, "long-lasting", but on the other hand, the design of the device is rather modest, the E63 looks prettier to me, although I should wait for other colors, perhaps they will be nicer. It's a pity, but we have to admit the decrease in the number of function keys, although the operating time has increased. The expected price for this smartphone is 9 thousand rubles. Until the E63 and E71 disappear from the market, it will not be easy for the new product: the E71 costs a couple of thousand more, but it is tactilely more pleasant, and even if it does not have a 3.5 mm connector, it does not work for so long, and it is older in software, but this is all its drawbacks end: just take E71 and E5 in your hand, and the choice is determined. And the E63 costs about 6.5-7 tr. and will be the choice of a pragmatic person who needs a QWERTY smartphone at the most affordable price. When both of these devices disappear from the market, and only the E72 remains, then there is no need to choose and the E5 will take its place as an inexpensive smartphone with a full-fledged keyboard already more thoroughly.

Design

The smartphone is a side slider, a kind of analogue or whatever you like. For the price, it will take a position between these two devices, with a cost of around 12,000 rubles. it will be slightly more expensive than the 5800, which has been in service for a year and a half, or much cheaper than the N97 mini, which has a different keyboard, a metal back, and a large amount of internal memory. The positioning is clear: the product is for those who need a push-button QWERTY keyboard, but don't want to pay extra for the 97th mini.

Dimensions 113x53x16.8 mm, weight 150 grams. Despite the fact that the phone is made of plastic, it turned out to be heavier than the "small" 97th - that is 12 grams lighter, and even thinner by 2.6 mm.

The front panel almost completely copies the popular 5800, in the upper part there is a slot for the earpiece, next to it is a camera for video calls and a light sensor. At the bottom there are a couple of buttons for accepting and rejecting a call, between them there is a "Menu" button, which has an integrated indicator that signals missed events.

On the right side there is a volume rocker, under it is a convenient phone lock lever. On the same side, there is a button for launching the camera. On the opposite side there is a slot for memory cards.

Flip the phone over to reveal the camera lens and flash, as well as the speaker below.

The material used is rubberized plastic, pleasant and practical. The front panel is glossy, prints are clearly visible on it, quite easily soiled.

At the bottom there is a strap mount and a charger connector. Conveniently, the connector is illuminated when plugged into a power outlet, thanks to a ring glowing in the dark around the pin plugged into the phone.

Metallic edging runs along the bottom half of the phone - a nice nuance. The back of the upper part of the device is covered with a metal plate.

The assembly would be ideal if there was not a slight lateral play, which is noticeable when the smartphone is folded. The same N97 mini is assembled in one piece, I would like to see a comparable level of workmanship in the C6.

The phone opens vertically (not like in the N97, where the corner was formed), this action is accompanied by a pleasant click.

A couple of familiar colors will be available: black and white.

Screen

Diagonal 3.2 inches, resolution 640 x 360 dots, shows up to 16 million colors. The resistive display is comparable in image quality with the analogue in N97 mini, it is bright, colors are vivid. I liked the response to clicks, the general reaction: the wishes of the users were taken into account, kinetic scrolling works great in the player, gallery, contacts and other applications. There is a light sensor, accelerometer.

Keyboard

The four rows of keys are complemented by a large, easy-to-use joystick button on the right side. The keys themselves are divided into blocks of 6 and 4 buttons per row on each side. The examples in the photos show the prepared version, localized for Russia. The symbols are clearly visible, the buttons are large and convex, there is a small gap between them. In my opinion, typing is very convenient and enjoyable. The keypad reminded me of something.

Platform

The smartphone runs S60 5th edition, equipped with Symbian OS 9.4.

The amount of free memory is 200 MB, microSD memory cards with a capacity of up to 16 GB are supported, a 2 GB card will be included.
The device operates in the EGSM 850/900/1800/1900 and WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100 bands.

Supported HSDPA, Bluetooth 2.0, work in Wi-Fi networks.

Media

The camera is 5-megapixel, with autofocus and flash, the maximum video quality is 640 x 360.

A 3.5 mm mini-jack allows you to connect any headphones to your smartphone, there is a radio.

Built-in A-GPS is present, as well as Ovi maps with free lifetime navigation.

Working hours

A 1200 mAh battery is used, it is claimed up to 420 minutes of talk time, up to 400 hours in standby mode, 6 hours of video playback, 30 hours of work in player mode.

Conclusion

C6 turned out to be functional, but somewhat modestly designed device. Perhaps this was done on purpose so as not to create unnecessary competition for the more stylish N97 mini. In other aspects, the phone turned out to be pleasant and convenient, except that the dimensions, or rather the weight, can be confusing. The phone will prove to be a good addition to the current lineup, bridging the gap between the N97 mini and the 5800.

Final for three

In general terms, we have outlined three new models that belong to different segments, but they have one common feature - the presence of a QWERTY keyboard. Nokia regularly introduces new devices to the market, offering customers of different incomes the opportunity to try out a convenient and practical keyboard (naturally, this type of device will be chosen by those who actively write SMS, in ICQ messengers, use social networks, or lead another kind of active life associated with regular typing).

If a few years ago QWERTY was the lot of only a very narrow segment, devices were limited in their capabilities (often on purpose, to emphasize that they were “not for everyone”), now the situation has become the opposite: Nokia is more actively offering customers phones with full keyboards of all kinds , which have absorbed the time-tested features of the E-series and a high multimedia component.

Final for three

In general terms, I have outlined three new models that belong to different segments, but they have one common feature - the presence of a QWERTY keyboard. Nokia is regularly introducing new devices to the market, offering customers of different incomes the opportunity to try out a convenient and practical keyboard (naturally, this type of device will be chosen by those who actively write SMS, in ICQ messengers, use social networks, or lead another kind of active life associated with regular typing).

6 good

Nokia was a pioneer in the creation of phones with QWERTY-keyboards, back in the days of 3310 there was a rare and special device designed for active correspondence, although it resembled a pencil case with buttons.
Later, a series of various 68xx devices appeared, which had an ingenious folding system, thanks to which the designers were able to create a full-fledged and fairly compact keyboard in an acceptable size. You cannot score large, convenient for implementing business plans, 9-series devices. Looking at the wide range of QWERTY-equipped devices in recent years, one is imbued with respect for a company that was not afraid to experiment with forms and content. It was once believed that a wide segment of users did not need QWERTY: this type of keyboard was a feature of fairly expensive devices , often such means of communication were also bulky, which also did not bring joy to everyone. But as time went on, work continued on creating a device with a moderate size and a moderately comfortable keyboard. The popularity of the Nokia E71 showed that the right key to success was found, subsequently the Nokia E63 appeared, designed for more active users (the smartphone acquired a flashlight and 3.5 mm jack , but lost the built-in GPS-module and got a simpler camera), Nokia E75 and Nokia 5730, E72 ... Three new phones are expected to appear on sale soon, these are C3, C6 and E5 models. In this article I will share with you my impressions of meeting them.

Nokia C3

The device is based on the Series 40 platform, for a long time there were no Nokia phones (not smartphones) with QWERTY-keyboards - this segment was given to “smart” devices, but now the situation has changed radically. The main argument when choosing this phone is the price. The phone is expected to go on sale for 5,000 rubles. At the same time, according to its characteristics, the model turned out to be very interesting, which will make it possible to once again think about buying such an affordable phone, but with wide possibilities.

Design

The dimensions of the C3 are: 115.5 x 58.1 x 13.6 mm, weight 114 grams. The candy bar is made of plastic, and it is different: the front of the phone is made of glossy material (by the way, it is quite easily soiled), while the back is made of more practical matte plastic. The design is not so simple: the front panel has small beveled ends, edging the joystick and a pair of additional keys are covered with silver paint.

At the top of the front panel there is an oval opening for the earpiece, below it is a 2.4-inch screen. The block of keys and the keyboard are similar in style to the "older" devices. There is a microSD card slot on the left side of the phone, next to it there is another one for connecting a microUSB cable. On the right, there are no keys, alas, but due to the budget of the device it was deprived of dedicated buttons. To adjust the volume, you need to use the joystick for this action. It's great that the developers did not save on the design of the phone: there are buttons on the sides of the phone that you can press to remove the back cover, a similar scheme is used in the E71, in the Nokia E72 For some reason, it was simplified, as a result of which the back panel does not sit in its place so tightly. Under the cover there is a 1320 mAh battery, removing which you can get access to the SIM-card. It is nice to see metal in the phone belonging to such an accessible segment - a removable cover is made of it, inside it is carefully glued with a pair of foam pads, which helps to avoid backlash. At the bottom of the case there is a strap mount, at the top there are a camera lens and speaker holes. At the top there is both a hole for connecting a charger and a 3.5 mm jack to connect your favorite headphones.

The phone is expected in three colors: Slate Gray, Hot Pink, Golden White. Although the photo shows a blue sample, it is possible that such a modification will be in service.

Screen

TFT-display with a diagonal of 2.4 inches and a resolution of 320x240 pixels shows 262 thousand colors: a bright picture with good viewing angles.

Conveniently, when you first start the phone, a special interface wizard is launched to help you quickly adapt the phone to your needs. Due to the horizontal orientation of the screen, the interface has been redesigned for more convenient work with the phone, it meets the user of a menu with 12 icons, which can be displayed as a list , the possibility of adapting the phone is equivalent to other devices based on this platform, for example, Nokia 7230.

Media

Designed for an audience of young users, a modern phone is unthinkable without a jack that allows you to use high-quality headphones, which means that the 3.5 mm hole in C3 is just right.

Connections

The phone operates in the EGSM 85090018001900 ranges. There is Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR and USB 2.0. A distinctive feature of this model is the presence of Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g. The ability to use a home hotspot or free public hotspots will undoubtedly appeal to users, and for the first time, perhaps, Wi-Fi has become available in a device of this price range. Thanks to a large battery, the operating time can be up to 8 hours of talk time and up to 500 hours in standby mode, up to 30 hours of operation in player mode is also claimed.

Nokia E5

Nokia E5 ranks higher. If the E63, which appeared a couple of years ago, has become a fairly inexpensive alternative to the E71, now it has a replacement in the face of a new device.

Design

Dimensions 115 x 58.9 x 12.8 mm almost exactly repeat the dimensions of the E63 (113 x 59 x 13 mm), and the weight is generally identical and equal to 126 grams. The main material from which the smartphone is made is plastic. In E63 it was soft-touch, more pleasant than in this device. In the upper part, one after the other, there are a hole for a 2 mm charger, a 3.5 mm jack and a slot for a microUSB cable covered with a flap.

There is a volume rocker on the right side of the phone.

The design for removing the back cover is similar to the E71: on both sides of the smartphone there is a button, by pressing which the back panel is snapped off. In E5 it is metal, it is held in the fasteners very tightly, without backlash. But as in C5, it is quite delicate and small scratches and abrasions are possible.

On the back there is a 5MP camera lens and a flash that can also work as a flashlight.

The buttons themselves are similar to those in the E63, so it's hard to say anything special about them: whoever is satisfied with the keyboard in it will not disappoint the C6 either.

Platform

The smartphone is based on Symbian 9.3 Feature Pack 2, like all devices of a similar level, it works quickly and understands, the advantages in speed compared to the previous generation (E63E71) are noticeable, especially if you turn off animation effects in themes. The user has 256 MB of memory, included there will be a 2 GB card, while the device itself works with cards up to 32 GB.

Connections

It works in 850/900/1800/1900 networks, and there is also support for 3G, HSDPA up to 10.2 Mbps and HSUPA up to 2 Mbps. E5 has Bluetooth 2.0 with support for A2DP and AVRCP, Wi-Fi is also present.

Media

A 3.5 mm jack is no longer a rarity, Nokia installs it in most of its new devices, and it is present here too. Besides listening to the player, the radio will also help pass the time. The camera is 5 megapixel, it lacks autofocus, video is recorded in 640x480 at 15 frames per second.

A-GPS appeared, which was absent in the E63. Again, thanks to the free Nokia Maps preinstalled in the device, you won't have to pay for navigation.

Working hours

It uses a different battery, it has a smaller capacity (1200 versus 1500 mAh in the E63), but the battery life is much longer: up to 18.5 hours of talk time, up to 705 hours in standby mode, 38 hours in the player's mode. For comparison, the E63 figures: 11 hours of talk time, 430 hours of standby time, 18 hours of music playback. Apparently, a lot of work has been done on optimization and power consumption, which allowed us to get such a tangible increase in life expectancy.

Nokia C6

Design

The smartphone is a side slider, a kind of analogue of Nokia 5800 or Nokia N97 mini - whichever you prefer. For the price, it will take a position between these two devices, with a cost of around 12,000 rubles. it will be slightly more expensive than the 5800, which has been in service for a year and a half, or much cheaper than the N97 mini, which has a different keyboard, a metal back, and a large amount of internal memory. The positioning is clear: the product is for those who need a push-button QWERTY keyboard, but don't want to pay extra money for the 97th mini.

Dimensions 113x53x16, 8 mm, weight 150 grams. Despite the fact that the phone is made of plastic, it turned out to be heavier than the “small” 97th - it is 12 grams lighter, and even thinner by 2.6 mm.

The rear of the top of the device is covered with a metal plate. Assembly would be ideal if there was not a slight lateral play, which is noticeable when the smartphone is folded. The same N97 mini is assembled just monolithic, I would like to see a comparable level of workmanship in the C6. The phone opens vertically (not like in the N97, where a corner was formed), this action is accompanied by a pleasant click.

The keypad reminded me a bit of the Nokia N900.

Platform

The smartphone runs S60 5th edition, equipped with Symbian OS 9.4. The amount of free memory is 200 MB, microSD memory cards with a capacity of up to 16 GB are supported, a 2 GB card will be included. The device works in the EGSM 850/900/1800/1900 ranges. and WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100. Supports HSDPA, Bluetooth 2.0, work in Wi-Fi networks.

Media

The camera is 5-megapixel, with autofocus and flash, the maximum video quality is 640 x 360.

A 3.5 mm mini-jack allows you to connect any headphones to your smartphone, there is a radio, built-in A-GPS, and Ovi maps with free lifetime navigation.

In general terms, I have outlined three new models that belong to different segments, but they have one common feature - the presence of a QWERTY keyboard. The phone form factor with QWERTY keyboard is very popular with buyers. Nokia has been releasing phones with QWERTY keyboards very often lately.

Therefore, on this page we present to your attention those models Nokia with QWERTY keyboard, which are now on sale and can be bought.

First qwerty phones the American company Blackberry began to produce. And this form factor has become very, very popular. Those users who often work with text write a lot of messages, phones with qwerty most suitable.

QWERTY phones are slightly wider than regular phones. But on the other hand, each manufacturer tries to make the thickness as small as possible. Especially worth highlighting are qwerty phone models in a metal case, for example, the Nokia E6-00.

As mobile phones with touchscreens entered the market over the years, customers wanted to combine the advantages of two form factors: a touchscreen and a full-size physical QWERTY keyboard. Demand touchscreen phone with qwerty keyboard is not very large, so there are not many such models in the Nokia catalog. In addition, now they are no longer released and have long since moved to the "Archive" section.

On this page we present to your attention directory of telephones with qwerty keyboard... We follow all the announcements of new models and keep our catalog up to date.

We are always happy to help you in choosing and buying a phone with qwerty.
