Locations. Call of Misery (hereinafter simply CoM) consists of over 30 locations from the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R trilogy. plus two new ones. All locations are inhabited by factions and mutants according to logic and lore. On Agroprma you can find Sidorovich barking at crazy prices, bandits settled on the ATP, Debt covers the bar, Army Warehouses in the power of Freedom, Pripyat under the Monolith, the Syndicate guards the entrance to Limansk, on Yantar there is an eternal shootout of scientists and zombies, and Clear Sky lurks in the wilderness of swamps . Members of the factions do not hesitate to enter neighboring ones, but they do not go far from the bases. Often there is a shootout for the same pig farm, and either the bandits or the stalkers have it. The checkpoint in army warehouses goes from mercenaries to a monolith and vice versa, depending on who is now more. Or maybe even a chimera will come running and devour all the fuck. The zone lives, the zone moves.

Groupings. Have you ever dreamed of wandering around the Zone for the Syndicate, completing orders? Or maybe your passion is test tubes and white coats? Or yelling "Mom is not the law. I am the law" while sitting on the bucket at the bandits has always been your goal? Well, now it's all possible. All 9 factions of the trilogy are available in CoM, each with its own unique base, equipment and quests. The player has the right to choose a name, avatar and start place, and then how the Zone will bring it down. Also, each faction has both friends and enemies. As a debtor, don't expect a warm welcome at the Warehouses. Bandits will be killed by almost everything, except for mercenaries and freedom. Quests. Each faction has its own special set of quests. This is not an RPG, so don't expect tons of text with multiple choice answers. Everything is in the logic of the original Stalker - kill-bring. But each faction plays it in its own way. The Svobodovites or the duty to kill a traitor, the bandits are asked to fill up nonsense, the mercenaries simply have an order. More peaceful factions offer to wear mutant parts or household items. Sometimes there are quests for reconnaissance, interception, escort, hostage rescue, search for weapons, security or delivery of important documents. Quests are given by both ordinary merchants and squad leaders. If you are tired of the tasks of the grouping, nothing prevents you from going to ask about the work of the allied factions.
In addition to the regular back from the bosses of the group, there is also a story quest. Every game it is new and re-generated. There cannot be two identical passages. It is here that the most interesting tasks for research and search meet. To whom this is not enough, they can talk with a strange man in a raincoat in the Swamps and the third line of story quests will become available.

Freeplay. So you have chosen a grouping, location and got a starting outfit. What's next? Yes, whatever you want. The zone is at your complete disposal. You can immediately rush to the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, for a Klondike of artifacts, and grab it from the first bandit, because a beginner's jacket, AKS and 1000 rubles in your pocket are not good equipment. You can earn by hunting mutants, you can earn by collecting artifacts, you can focus on completing quests, or you can do everything at once. You choose the goals of the game yourself. Become a legend, turn off the burner, buy an ex and pump it to the top, destroy all factions, go through the story, etc.

Atmosphere. Since it's 2016, no one needs games without graphics. The authors took care of this and added a lot of graphic, weather, texture and sound mods. Everything looks amazing. What to say, see for yourself.




hardcore. The original purpose of the Misery mod, beyond gameplay and graphics, was to make the game more difficult without losing interest. And the authors succeeded. First-aid kits heal slowly and are expensive, most of the weapons are in poor condition, the eternal lack of ammo and hunger, and the goods in the store are crazy money. You literally have to survive in the Zone. All this has also been carried over to CoM. But let's take a closer look at the difficulty of the game.

NPCs and AI. Both you and the NPCs are extremely vulnerable to lead. GG lacks a couple of small-caliber bullets, as well as humanoid enemies. If in the case of who kills whom first on your part, handiness decides, then for the enemies it is the rank and faction. If novice stalkers don’t hit with a rifle from 50 meters, then the Monoliths or warriors already at 200 meters begin to actively crush you with fire, flavoring it all with grenades and constant movement. Skirmishes have become more interesting and dynamic.

Monsters. Now they are more dangerous than ever. Half of them one-shot you, and the other half is not going to be less than three and also quickly reduces the health bar to zero. All creatures move silently, forcing the player to constantly monitor the situation at 360 degrees. But if the stalker is well equipped and knows the tactics of killing the monster, its weaknesses and strengths, then even a chimera can be killed with a knife. If you do not have the necessary protection, then run. Maybe you'll be lucky.

Hunting. Or not. After all, you just went into battle against dogs for the sake of getting food. Yes, now you can kill monsters not only for profit, but also for food. CoM implemented a system for cooking food from monster meat. If you have a portable stove or slow cooker with you and fuel for them, then the problems of hunger will no longer be the worst. Know only put coal. However, nothing is given for free. Meat cooked even in the best oven is fonite, and fuel takes up precious space in the inventory. So you have to choose - health or money.
Also, in addition to meat and parts of mutants, a skin can also fall out from living creatures, which you can either sell or hang on your loved one, receiving bonuses to protection.
In addition, a special hunter's kit will help to simplify hunting, which increases the chances of dropping parts. You will have to pay for it by weight - 6 kg is very difficult.



Bonfires. So you hunted nicely, gathered up a bunch of tender meat, shot the bandits and generally did a good job on this game day. Need rest. Where is the best rest than by the fire. The undead will not let you lie. Moreover, bonfires are now the only way to save. Yes, yes, Dark Souls got here. For ignition, only matches are needed, of which there are always a lot. But don't be afraid. Fired saves are only an option and can be disabled in the game settings menu. Sometimes hardcore can be too much.

daytime radiation. In addition to the living creatures running around the Zone, nature itself will be against you. I think many have played the Metro 2033 series and know that going to the surface without a gas mask is fatal there. A similar system is implemented here. For free movement around the locations, you need clothes in good condition and a gas mask. If any of your equipment is damaged in a fight against monsters or a shootout, then you will begin to be exposed to radiation. Various medicine, shelters with a roof (a house, a barn) or the time of day - from 21.00 to 6.00 there is no fonit on the street can help you with this. Yes, unrealistic, but interesting.

Emissions and Psi. It all migrated from the original Call of Pripyat. We hear a siren, we hide in a shelter. If the ejection, then those who did not hide will be zombified if the Psi die. Difficult at first, but once you get the hang of it, you won't need much of it. A couple of oilers for my caliber, a couple of sewing kits and not run the state of the equipment. And by the way, repair kits do not need to be pumped out and they are available immediately. Nobody has ever done this before.

Loot. More than 150 pieces of stuff have been added to the game. Among them there is both good-for-nothing garbage, and items from which you can make a lot of money. Application modules. If you remember, in the original Stalker, all that could be worn on a belt was art. Now the number of items has increased and changed. In addition to art, you can now hang Kevlar plates on your belt that will increase protection, steel mesh to increase the carry weight, a "camel hump" for stamina, or a current limiter for resisting electrical anomalies. On the quick keys (F1, F2, F3, F4), in addition to first-aid kits, bandages and stimpacks, you can hang, for example, a dosimeter to determine the level of exposure or a quick-dump backpack system if you need to urgently run, and you have an overload. In general, everything that can be used through RMB is bound.
Pay attention to the lower left corner. Above the health and stamina bars are the icons of the installed Kevlar plate, steel plate and titanium mesh. The first two give armor, the last + 5kg of weight.

Charging system. All electronics are now eating energy and the more it is wound, the faster the batteries run out. The PDA eats almost nothing, the headlamp is already bigger, the night vision device will burn out the military unit for an hour during the game, and the top anomaly detector will last 30 minutes. Eternal is only a hand lamp, but it takes the place of a detector and you can’t arm yourself with anything other than a pistol. All this is replenished with the help of a universal charger and batteries for it.

Well, now about the most delicious. Immersion. It is achieved with the help of various hoods, sounds and animations. But again, everything is in order.

HUD. Each helmet has its own "pattern" around the edges of the screen and 12 wear conditions, from drips of condensation to holes in the mask and scratches. All this is seasoned with the sound of breathing by which you can determine how GG lives - cheerful and cheerful, dragging 100 kg of rubbish or about to die. In a future update, they will add raindrops on the glass. Everything can be turned off if desired.





Animations. Whatever GG does, it's all animated and voiced. Unfortunately, you will not see the hands, but here the sound is made in double size. That is, so that you do not click on use, the GG clearly uses it for its intended purpose. In addition, almost everything takes time (5-10 seconds) and in the heat of battle, repairing the suit will not work.

Armor, ammo and silencers. Now everything is divided into classes.
The description of the armor has expanded. In addition to standard resistance bands, there was a division into the protection of certain parts of the body and the class of this protection. From "absent" to "6", where the latter is not broken by anything other than Gauss.
The cartridges were prescribed the level of damage for certain materials. Standard is average in everything, our main ammunition. Armor-piercing are good all of a sudden against body armor, but expansive for mutants. There are unique ones that, for example, give a double bonus to unprotected targets, but are completely useless against armor. It's basically a fraction.
Silencers were divided by the level of emitted noise. For a large caliber, the noise is suppressed weakly, for a medium caliber it is better, but the owners of exhaust pipes like Val or Vintorez are generally quieter than a knife. But there is also a negative effect - the silencer cuts speed and, as a result, damage.

Knives. Knives were divided into classes. Not every monster can be butchered by the weakest, while even the thick skin of a chimera is unimportant to the top ones. Knives tend to deteriorate from cutting carcasses and combat use. New ones are inexpensive, but sharpening kits are even cheaper.

Weapon. And this is the cornerstone of fashion. On the one hand, the authors made a cool system - now the weapon has several levels of condition in addition to standard wear:
- old - the barrel will start to wedge earlier, has worn textures
- normal - standard
- custom - has several pre-installed modifications, such as an enlarged magazine or + 10% reliability
- modified - a silencer, a collimator, optics, a sight were integrated onto the barrel, painted in camo or all of this at once.
But on the other hand, most of these are standard weapons of the Call of Pripyat, and these are hello left-hand Kalash and NATO barrels with ejectors on the left. Plus the textures are not of the best quality. All this hurts the eye a little if you are a gun nerd. If not, then there is no problem for you either. Craftsmen have already adapted their weapon packs (I just use them in my face).

Hostages. If you wounded an enemy, then he can surrender and he can be interrogated. the prisoner will give either the location of the cache, or the PDA at your request. Or maybe send a fuck, depends on the reputation. Don't try to interrogate fanatics. Why? Well, try it.

Reputation. The more you complete quests for your faction, the more loyal the members of your faction become to you. Merchants have a wider assortment, members of the group can be taken as partners, and hostages will quickly hand over their swag. You can lower your turnip by failing quests or by killing friendly NPCs.

Caches. In addition to standard backpacks and all sorts of pipes, crates have been added to the list of loot. And it’s really useful for fashion to break them. First-aid kits, cartridges, grenades - this is what you will never find there. Underpants, broken shells and shovels. I'm kidding of course. Random is so random and anything can fall out there. Broniks generally lie on the bare floor.

Perks. The more we perform certain actions, the more famous and pumped we become. More partners can go with us in the squad, hostages turn in more caches, more loot falls from animals.

    You need to have a “Friend” relationship with them. Perform secondary tasks, help the wounded, increase reputation.

    Who can sell junk and weapons in poor condition?

    What is the reason for the appearance of only broken weapons in caches and with stalkers without the slightest chance of weapons in perfect condition?

    The chance of a weapon spawning in perfect condition is impossible for two reasons:

    1. If you set the chance of appearance closest to the minimum - the cycle of weapons is such that even with such a chance a lot of weapons in excellent condition will fall out.

    2. If you set the minimum chance of appearance - a weapon in good condition will never fall out.
