New tool in Photoshop CS5 Content-Aware Fill. How to remove an extra object in Photoshop Taking into account the content in Photoshop

The expansion value depends on the image size:

Open the fill dialog via Edit -\u003e Fill (Edit -\u003e Fill) or press Shift + F5. In the window, select "Content-Aware" and click OK:

Photoshop fills the selection with surrounding pixels and blends them. The filling of the selection is random, so if you are not satisfied with the result, repeat the procedure again. Press Ctrl + D to deselect. Here's what I got, for clarity, I have not removed the selection:

Removing Photo Objects Using the Content-Aware Patch Tool

If the object you want to delete is not surrounded by enough background pixels, you can tell Photoshop to use a completely different area in the photo to replace it.

Let's walk through this process step by step.

STEP ONE: Open the image and press Shift + Ctrl + N to create a new layer.

STEP TWO: Take the Patch Tool. Above, in the options bar, set the mode to "Content-Aware" and the sampling mode "Sample from all layers" (Sample All Layers). Do not touch the "Adaptation" parameter yet:

STEP THREE: Create with the mouse cursor a selection around the object to be deleted (in my example, a man in a green shirt). If necessary, expand the selection to include more background pixels.

Note. To create a selection, you can use any of the selection tools, for example, "Quick Selection", and then switch to "Patch".

We have turned on the mode of selecting samples from all layers, which means that Photoshop sees the background layer through an empty one.

Create a selection:

STEP FOUR: Left-click inside the selection and drag the cursor to the area that you want to use for the base pixels to replace. Photoshop will show you a preview of what the fix will look like. Try to make any horizontal and / or vertical lines match each other as best as possible, when you're done release the left mouse button:

STEP FIVE: Now about the "Adaptation" option located in the parameters panel. It allows you to set the amount of blending that Photoshop will perform when new pixels are inserted into the target area. There are only five values, ranging from Very Strict to Very Loose, which means very little to very much mixing, respectively. It is always best to select these parameters experimentally. If you don't like the result, undo it with Ctrl + Alt + Z and repeat again. In Photoshop CC 2014, the "Adaptations" drop-down menu (gear icon) already has two options - the structure and color of the field, and they can be changed by entering numbers from 1 to 5. 1 corresponds to "very strict", 5 - "Very loose". It follows from this that in CC 2014 you can control the blending of not only structure, but also color. In the picture, I showed this option on different versions of Photoshop:

This way you can delete the rest of the shapes.

And here is the result of removing the two central shapes of the photo using Content-Aware Fill, not deselected so that you can see which area I selected:

Not perfect, of course, but the result is pretty good.

Probably everyone has already appreciated the function of deleting objects, which appeared in Photoshop CS5 and has been successfully improved in the next version.

Several times I described different programs for removing unwanted objects in photographs, but if we use Photoshop, then why install other programs to perform actions with which he himself does an excellent job?

I will briefly describe two similar functions that are very convenient and simple to use for removing or moving objects in images, taking into account the content. Content-Aware means that the smart program analyzes the areas near the object, identifies "important" and "unimportant" pixels, and only then changes the content of the document. The picture above shows examples of how a high-mountain yak first disappeared from the picture, and then moved to another place.

Note that these methods work best when the background has a uniform structure. With complex geometric patterns, the program can delete or move objects not very correctly and accurately. What can you do, car ...

For example, I took a photo of a hairy bull against the background of an alpine snowy landscape on the website lhnet.org.

Please note (look on the right in the layers palette) that the layer with the image should not be a changeable layer, but the background. Otherwise, the object is simply removed.

In the toolbar, select the Lasso tool (letter L on your keyboard). Basically, you can take any tool you are used to for selection.

See also the post: "An easy way to select a complex object in Photoshop CS5".

Select (outline) with the help of this tool the "extra" object.

Press the Delete key on the keyboard. In the "Fill" box, "Use: Based on content" should be selected. Click the OK button.

Now the picture looks like this:

To remove the dotted selection, you need to press the key combination Ctrl and D or select from the top menu: "Selection" - "Deselect".

The result of deleting a content-aware object in Photoshop CS6:

This operation is essentially similar to the previous one, but the selection is not deleted, but its position on the image is changed. As with deletion, not every picture is automatically processed neatly.

If you want to fix the composition of the shot by moving the subject in the frame, open the original shot (I'll torture the "snow bull" a little more).

On the toolbar, we find the "Patch" button.

Note that another button may be visible instead. For example, the Spot Healing Brush. In any case, these tools correspond to the J key on your keyboard.

Press and hold this button until a hidden menu appears with other tools in this group. Select the Content-Aware Move tool.

Now, while holding down the left mouse button, carefully outline the "extra" object (our bull).

Circled? Move the cursor to the center of the selected area and drag it to the desired location.

We are waiting for the program to “integrate the moved fragment to a new position”.

It remains to deselect (Ctrl + D).

Here's what I got approximately:

Good luck! Wait for new lessons

Hello dear Pixelbox website visitors!

Many of us have had to deal with a situation when a photograph, thought out in composition and beautiful in its plot, is spoiled by a stranger, a bird, or the like, unexpectedly wedging into the frame. What to do - throw away / delete the damaged photo? Of course not! There are several tools in Photoshop that help you easily and easily remove an unnecessary subject from a photo.

1 way

How to remove an extra item using the Content-Aware Fill function

There is a photo from the sea, but everything is spoiled by the guy in the background, who, moreover, has his back. Opening the photo in Photoshop (Ctrl + O).

The easiest and easiest way to remove a guy from a photo (no crime, just Photoshop magic!) Is to use the function Content-Aware Fill. This feature appeared in the version of Adobe Photoshop CS5 and peacefully migrated to the next versions of the program.

In order to take advantage of Content-Aware Fill, you must first select the item you want to delete. You can do this in any way convenient for you, I used the tool Lasso, tool hotkey - L.

We circle the guy with the mouse "with a margin", not end-to-end:

Go to the menu Editing-Fill (Edit-Fill):

In the window that appears, select FROM Content-Aware Fill:

Naturally, we press OK and this is what we get:

To remove the selection that prevents us from admiring water beauties, press Ctrl + D:

Magic! Easy and fast! For those who are not looking for easy ways, I will tell you another way to eliminate any unnecessary subject from the photo.

2 way

How to remove excess object with the Clone Stamp Tool

Tool Stamp (Clone Stamp Tool) allows you to disguise unnecessary objects in the photo, replacing the area with a defect with the desired area that you choose. Tool shortcut key - S.

At the top settings paneltool, you can choose on which layer the cloning will take place - on active, on active and below or on all layers... If you choose the first option, on the active layer, remember - all changes will take place on the main layer. I do not recommend using such a destructive photo editing method, it is better to create a layer on top of the main one and select "On active and below"- in this case, you can always correct the cloning layer.

Create a new layer (click on the icon for creating a new layer in layers palette):

We make this layer active:

And holding the key Alt, take the plot next to the guy, release the key Alt we transfer this area to the guy, and to "attach" the area in the right place, click left mouse button.

So gradually, taking the areas that are near the object to be deleted, paint over the guy:

I hope the tutorial was useful to you and will help you create high-quality and beautiful photos!

  • “Amazing! Just extraordinary! This cannot be! " - you can hear about such exclamations from people who see in action the new functions of the program Adobe Photoshop CS6 for filling with respect to content. Indeed, companies

Adobe has done the impossible, opening a new page in the field of computer graphics.

How often have you seen beautiful photos ruined by the appearance of an unwanted subject in the frame? I think all the time. Sometimes you can spend hours in Adobe Photoshop trying to remove from the frame a passer-by who accidentally got into the picture of a meeting of graduates or unwanted graffiti on the wall.

The solution to the problem of removing unwanted objects has been found in Adobe Photoshop CS6. And for these purposes, there are two whole ways: fill taking into account the content and the possibility of the corresponding function in the tool Spot Healing Brush (Spot Healing Brash Tool).

The essence of this function is as follows: the program replaces the selected area with an image based on the objects surrounding the area. This way, you can easily remove a person against a brick wall from the frame: select him, then use the content-aware fill function.

    2. Select the unwanted object using any convenient tool in Adobe Photoshop CS6. For the most natural results, it is recommended to create selections not at the very edge of objects, but somewhat capturing the background of the object. The Lasso Tool and the Polygonal Lasso Tool are perfect for this job.

    3. Select the command of the main menu Editing -\u003e Fill (Edit-\u003e Fill). The Fill dialog box opens. This dialog can also be invoked by the Shift + F5 key combination.

    4. In the Fill dialog box, from the Use drop-down list, select Content-Aware.
