My new selection of plugins for wordpress blog! The Most Important WordPress Plugins for Blogging! Blog plugins.

Hello! I offer you a selection of the best and most useful WordPress plugins. What makes this selection of WordPress plugins different from other blogs? Firstly, it presents only the best plugins in each topic, and not everything in a row. Secondly, each of the plugins is described in detail on my blog. Follow the link to the page dedicated to it and read the detailed description and instructions for installation, configuration and use.

To understand what caching is, you need to know how modern content management systems work (the same WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, and so on). Come on, I'm very clear on my fingers and just try to explain it to you.

And so, a person comes to your blog and sees the content of his page. Where does this page come from? It is not stored on the server as a file that can be opened and viewed, it is generated on the fly:

  • visual design is formed in accordance with the WordPress theme used and other styles that are connected separately (for example, from some plugin);
  • functionality is taken from the core of WP and its plugins;
  • information from the database.

All this is merged together using php code, converted into html code and transferred to the user's computer, where the browser displays it on the monitor. Complicated? No, you just have to understand the most important thing - as such, blog pages do not exist, they are formed for each visitor every time anew! Can you imagine how much power it takes to do this?! In addition to server resources, this process takes precious time, thereby reducing the loading of blog pages.

All plugins are divided into two groups:

  • main - the most important plugins, many of which are mandatory for use on any blog (these are marked with an exclamation point);
  • additional - not so popular, designed to expand the functionality of WordPress and add new chips to the blog - clock, calendar, maps, and so on.

Greetings, dear readers of the iklife blog.

Let's talk about such an important topic as the necessary plugins for WordPress. Extensions that a good website cannot do without. Below I will present a list of modules, grouped into categories, each of which is important and useful in its own way for your site.

This will be a kind of top of the best extensions for WordPress, and I hope that it will help you decide on the choice of the necessary software for your project. So let's not waste time and get started.

Surely you know what SEO is - it is it that is responsible for optimizing your site for search engines. The standard functionality of WordPress is hardly enough for competent customization for search engines.

For this reason, we must definitely install one of the following SEO modules. It is important to understand that all these add-ons have their own set of tools and settings. Which one is more preferable - decide for yourself.

This is the most popular search engine optimization add-on that is presented in the official catalog. It has over 5 million installs and a huge fan base. Rating - 5 out of 5, almost complete support for the Russian language and a wide range of features are not all the reasons why this plugin deserves to be installed on your site. On top of all that, Yoast boasts tech support, an extended premium version, and regular updates.

Yoast SEO has all the features you need:

  • SEO design – title and description;
  • checking the text for readability (support for the Russian language);
  • optimizing the text for SEO and checking the availability of keywords;
  • XML sitemap and robots editor, htaccess;
  • handy snippet showing how the article will look in the search results.

The premium version has some more cool features. You can learn about them from the official website or from a separate article.

Installing Yoast is very simple: you just need to go to the directory, find it in the list and click on the button. How to configure this plugin, we will consider in more detail separately.

Another mastodon of the WordPress directory, which has over 3 million active installations. In the top of the best SEO plugins, it takes an honorable second place, but there are no less opportunities.

The add-on also has support for the Russian language and is distinguished by the presence of a large number of various functions. Starting from automatic generation of meta tags (which is not in Yoast) and ending with integration with WooCommerce. A significant advantage of this module is its versatility. You just need to install.

From the whole abundance of tools, we can distinguish:

  • support for Google AMP and Analytics;
  • notification of search engines about the release of new articles;
  • no duplication;
  • XML sitemap, etc.

This plugin is available for installation from the WordPress admin area.

A small plugin that creates xml sitemaps for search engines. Only needed if you don't like the map embedded in a larger SEO module. It is possible to create a separate xml-file for each section of your site. There are also tools available for finer tuning of the code in the xml document (remove some elements or add vice versa).

Available for download and installation in the default directory.

  • The SEO Framework

A young plugin that has just appeared. It is positioned by developers as a fully automated solution for website promotion. Has all standard tools. You can install from the panel.

Optimization

A solution that will help increase the loading speed of your project. The bottom line is to cache pages on your site that have much less weight than the main page. It has several customization options:

  1. Simple - for beginners.
  2. Advanced - for advanced users.

Here you can also connect the site to a CDN, which will further speed up its loading. In addition, there are many different functions and settings in the advanced settings. If you organize them correctly, the web resource will simply fly. Otherwise, it is a small but functional module. Recommended for installation.

Does the same as the previous extension. However, there are still a number of useful features. For example, minification is a reduction in the weight of html and css files, which reduces their loading time. Setting up W3 Total Cache requires a precise understanding of what you are doing. With this add-on, you can significantly improve the performance of your web resource.

Automatic minifier of html, css and js files in WordPress. Autoptimize reduces the size of your site's files, making them load even faster. Due to the fact that the loading of a web resource is fast, this creates convenience for users and it is more appreciated by search engines. The functions of the plugin are already built into the previous one - W3 Total Cache, but if you do not need all the rest of the functionality, then Autoptimize will be a good solution.

  • WP-Optimize

Databases can get clogged too. As a rule, this happens with the active use of all kinds of modules, templates, and so on. To keep your resource clean, it is recommended to use this solution.

With WP-Optimize you can clean up unnecessary tables in your MySQL databases. Your project will run much faster if there is no garbage in it.

Another multifunctional plugin for optimizing your website on WP. Unlike the previous ones, this one has a very tasty feature for optimizing images (reducing their weight without losing quality). The module is quite new, but already has a decent number of installations. Also, developers delight their users with frequent updates.

  • Smush Image Compression and Optimization

SICO is a great image optimization tool for WordPress. It has an intuitive interface and great features. With this extension, you can easily reduce the weight of images, so your site will open very quickly.

A large module for versatile optimization of resources on WordPress. There are a wide variety of functions here. Minification, disabling unnecessary WP tools, automatic creation of necessary files, filling alts (alt) for images, support for meta tags and much more. This extension has appeared recently, and the developers promise to make it even better.

Security

A well-known spam fighter - Akismet will help you forever forget about annoying slimming creams and new super-ways of earning money, which for some reason “kind” commentators decided to talk about on the pages of your blog. Yes, it is an anti-spam, and very powerful.

My experience tells me that the plugin is simply irreplaceable. If you do not install it on time, then with almost one hundred percent probability your web resource will fall into the spam database, from where tons of spam will come.

You can get this plugin absolutely free, provided that it is used on a personal site. In the case of corporate solutions, you will have to buy a license.

  • Wordfence Security - Firewall & Malware Scan

Just a huge plugin that provides complete protection for a site on WP. Wordfence Security has in its arsenal a lot of different tools and chips to ensure the security of your web projects. There is a firewall, Malware scanner, access settings and much more.

  • All In One WP Security & Firewall

A solution that has the same features and tools as the plugin above. A fairly good choice, considering that the creators of the All In One series of modules have proven themselves well. Their products are of the highest quality, so this supplement is worth looking into as well. Just like before, All In One WP Security has everything you need to protect your WordPress project.

Useful

  • Cyr to Lat reloaded

Usually, if you use Russian, all your links are also generated in Cyrillic. If you don't want to change them manually every time, then Cyr-To-Lat will solve this problem for you. As you might have guessed, the plugin automatically transliterates your links into Latin. In addition to the main functionality, it is possible to transliterate the names of images.

  • WP Translator

Performs exactly the same functions as the extension above. The interface is also in Russian, which makes it extremely easy to use. I use it on my projects because of its simplicity and lightness. Also pleased with the function of replacing characters with lower case in downloaded files (plus their transliteration, respectively).

It was on the example of this plugin that we considered . The solution is truly multi-purpose and you can’t tell about it in a nutshell. Nevertheless, Jetpack is an example of a very functional and user-friendly solution. With it, you will have access to a huge number of topics, statistics, marketing and security tools.

  • Regenerate Thumbnails

As soon as you decide to change the usual design for something else, you will certainly need help in recreating the thumbnails. Otherwise, there will be display problems. Regenerate Thumbnails is designed just for this purpose. The RT interface is clear and simple, you just need to click and it will do everything automatically.

  • Updraft Plus WordPress Backup Plugin

Backups are extremely important at all stages of working with a web resource. One awkward move and your site will go down, you will need a backup copy to restore it. Usually hosting provides built-in backup tools, but they may be paid or not very convenient.

Updraft Plus will help you create a backup and even automatically upload it to Google Drive, Amazon or other well-known storage services. You can also download files to your computer, after which, using the same plug-in, you can quickly recover. Not a bad free solution that won't hurt your project.

  • Duplicate Post

Do you work with content a lot, do you often need to “copy” the structure or individual elements of your posts? Duplicate Post will help you do it with just one click. Intuitive toolkit in Russian makes this plugin an attractive proposition for installation.

Conclusion

Today we figured out the plugins that are recommended for installation for different purposes. I sincerely hope that this top will help you make your choice. I must say right away that this is not all. The article will be gradually updated with new solutions that will appear on the Internet. So, check out our blog often.

Also, don't forget that new products are constantly being added to the internal plugin catalog. Feel free to try them, because they may turn out to be much more advanced than their earlier counterparts.

I want to invite you to pass Vasily Blinov. On it, you will learn how easy it is to create your own website, so that later you can also earn real money on it.

Using plugins, you can improve the template and the site as a whole. Some of them are required to install, while others I can only recommend from personal experience. It is up to you to decide whether to install them or not. You can find other similar plugins and use them.

I will list and describe the most necessary plugins for WordPress in Russian: how to download and install on the site, as well as perform basic settings.

plugin- a combination of folders and files in the archive. To work, you need to transfer the archive to the hosting in a specific folder. You can do this in several ways:

1. Find the plugin in the search- the easiest and most affordable way for everyone. Just go to the left menu Plugins - Add plugin. There will be a search field on the right - search for any plugin (for example, All In One SEO Pack).

The plugin will appear in the search. Pay attention to the rating and the number of downloads - some create fake plugins and introduce viruses into them. Be carefull.

Click on the name of the plugin, and Install. Once it is installed, click "Activate Plugin".

2. Install archive from wordpress.org/plugins. Usually you can get to it if you search for plugins in the search.

You need to download the archive from the official site, and upload this archive to the site. To do this, go to Plugins - Add New and then at the top click Upload Plugin.

Select the desired archive, click Install and Activate.

You can also install plugins from other sites.

3. Using Filezilla. Run the program, connect to the site and follow the path: www - site.ru - wp-content - plugins. Upload the unzipped plugin here.

To activate, go to Plugins - select the desired plugin and click Activate under it.

WordPress plugins in Russian: where to download

It is much more convenient to work with Russian versions of programs, so as not to “poke” at random, but to consciously configure plugins. Although there are those that do not require special settings - installed, activated and this is enough for work.

Russian-language plugins can be found at mywordpress.ru. Finding it is very simple - type in the search bar "plugins for wordpress" and the first link will lead to the desired site.

Unfortunately, not all plugins are on the site, but some can be found.

Many popular plugins have already been translated into Russian, so you don't have to purposefully look for them elsewhere. Just use the standard methods for installing plugins (described at the beginning of the article).

Most needed plugins for wordpress

So, we got to the most important thing: useful plugins needed for the site. Some can be omitted or replaced by other similar ones, it all depends on your preferences.

By default, the hello dolly plugin is added - you can remove it. Nothing terrible will happen, it is purely entertaining.

Akismet is a useful anti-spam plugin. The built-in WordPress settings are not enough for complete protection, and very soon you can have a bunch of spam emails mixed with real comments. Checking and removing each of them takes a lot of time, so install Akismet right away.

Blog without Akismet - didn't check comments for a year.

But it’s not enough to install it, you need to activate and register on the site. Only then will it work properly. It's pretty easy to do, just follow the instructions:

Install - go to Settings - click the Get API Key button.

On the next page, scroll down to the very bottom and click the Awesome, let's kill some spam! Further standard registration: mail, login and password.

Then a page will appear where you can set the amount of remuneration for developers. If you want to activate Akismet for free, just move the slider all the way to the left. Zero should appear. Then enter the first name and last name in the fields on the right, and get the key.

It must be entered in a special field in the Parameters. And then check the boxes at your discretion (or leave as is). I recommend setting "Automatically reject obvious spam so it doesn't catch your eye." Then you won't have to spend time cleaning up spam.

All In One SEO Pack- the best plugin for optimizing articles and the site as a whole. I think that it must be installed and configured to promote the site. But I examined it in detail in this article.

Cyr-To-Lat– the plugin allows you to translate the Russian page name (title) into the Latin url. This helps speedy indexing and website promotion. And besides, it makes the links look much prettier.

It does not require any special settings - just install and activate.

WordPress Related Posts- displays "similar posts" at the end of the article. Either they are automatically substituted, or you configure them yourself. I recommend manually selecting the displayed records.

Installed by default, then go to Settings - WordPress Related Posts, and here you can customize the appearance. For example, what inscription will be displayed, the number of posts and their appearance. Everything is up to you, so no specific recommendations.

Google XML Sitemaps- a useful plugin that helps to automatically create Sitemaps for the site (this is necessary for promotion in search engines).

It does not require special settings, just install the plugin in the standard way and activate it. If you wish, you can customize the content and priority of displaying entries, as well as put a ban on the display of some categories.

It allows you to automatically create the content of the site. This is very convenient for both the webmaster and readers.

To find it, type Dagon Design Sitemap Generator into the search box and go to the first site. There click on Latest Release and save. Then add the plugin using the second method (download plugin - install).

Set the Russian language in the settings to make it easier to customize the appearance: display posts, pages or all at once, how many posts are displayed on 1 page, etc. There is nothing complicated in the settings, everything is clearly described.

It is best to create site content on a separate page (All Site Articles). Go to code editing (Text) and insert just one word:

!- ddsitemapgen-
(enclose it in<>)

Publish and ready, now you can place it in the top menu in a prominent place. There is only one problem - at the bottom of the page it says Plugin written by dagondesign.com. If it bothers you a lot, you can delete it. Go to Plugins and under Dagon Design Sitemap Generator click on Edit.

Open the file for editing, press ctrl+F, enter dagondesign.com and find the line:

Delete it and update the file. Now nothing more.

Hyper Cache- a useful plugin for caching the site. It speeds up the loading of site pages, which is very popular with both users and search engines. For young sites, this is not so relevant, but the older and heavier your blog is, the more tangible its work will be. It doesn't require any special settings. You can use any other caching plugin or do without it.

Useful WordPress plugins

In this section, I will list just useful plugins that I use on the blog. Some of them are not very well known and I had to go through many other options before I found them.

Comment plugins

ark hide comment links- closes links in the comments section from indexing, but keeps them active. Examples can be viewed on my website - if you click on a commenter's name, you will be redirected to their website, but these links are not considered external. No configuration required, just install and let it work.

Subscribe To Comments- plugin for subscribing to blog comments. Those. a person leaves a comment, checks the “Receive notification of new comments” checkbox and can actively participate in communication. He will receive an email notification if someone adds a new message to this article. Well increases attendance and helps to get regular readers.

Configure the plugin in the Settings - Subscribe to Comments section. Just enter the Sender's Name (for example, Anna Aprelskaya or Blog site) and mail (preferably on the site's domain). Enter the text that will be displayed in the letters. Example:

Comment Redirect by Yoast- allows you to redirect after the first comment to a specific page. Usually on the “Thank you for the first comment” page, where you thank for participating in the life of the site, offer the most interesting content and place a subscription form. If the site hosts a commentator or subscriber contest, be sure to let us know.

Go to Plugins —Comment Redirect, and select from the drop-down list the page to which the person will be sent. It is advisable to remove this page from the general list (menu and sitemap). This can be done with a plugin Advanced Category Excluder.

Top Commentators Widget– allows you to create a Top Commenters widget. People comment more on sites where you can become more visible and get into the sidebar. In addition, it is more convenient to hold commentator contests with this plugin, because the calculation is automatic.

You can configure the widget in the Design - Widgets - Top commentators section. Drag this widget to the sidebar section. There are many settings here, let's look at them:

Change widget title: what inscription will be above the top? Top commentators or Rating of commentators.

Add description below the title: description for the widget. You can leave it blank or offer to participate in the commentator contest.

Exclude these users: exclude from the top. Specify your nickname so as not to take first place.

Reset period every: For what period is the data taken? Month, year, all the time?

Limit characters in names to: restriction of characters in the user's name/nickname. Depends on the template, but on average 10-16

Remarks for blank list: what caption will be displayed if no one has commented yet? For example, Be the first to comment

Open each link in a new window? Open link in new window - Yes

Show number of comments for each commenter? Show number of comments next to name - Yes

Use the following default Gravatar: what picture will be if a person does not have an avatar? Choose to your taste, I put Mystery Man and the size of the gravatar (Size:) 65

Leave the rest as is and click Save.

Article design plugins

wp-jquery-lightbox image plugin for wordpress. It is very convenient to view the images of the article (for example, open any image in the article). The photos are getting closer, the background is darkening, you can scroll through all the photos in the article. I tried several other plugins, but this one is the only one I like.

To change the default appearance, you can go to Settings - jQuery Lightbox. There you can adjust the image sizes, appearance, appearance method and other similar nuances.

advanced spoiler allows you to make neat and beautiful spoilers in articles. With their help, you can hide part of the information or reduce the size of the article. You can customize the appearance and opening mode of the spoiler.

WordPress Post Tabs- allows you to create beautiful tabs on the site. I rarely use it, but articles become much more comfortable with it.

MaxSite Russian Date- a simple plugin that translates the months into a readable form: instead of June 16, it will be June 16.

Other plugins

WordPress Protection- a simple plugin that helps protect copyrighted articles from copying. Go to Settings - WordPress Protection to set it up.

  • Disable Text-Selection ? Check the box and your site will not be able to highlight the text
  • Don't Disable Mouse Right Click. The right mouse button (RMB) works.
  • Disable Mouse Right Click without any alert. RMB does not work, no warning appears.
  • Disable Mouse Right Click with an alert box: RMB does not work, but you can specify the text below to display it.

WP-CopyrightPro You can also use this plugin to protect against article theft. Turn it on and when copying, your inscription will appear after the quote. For example, the information is taken from the site site

Scroll to Top Button- sets the up arrow on the site. With it, you can quickly get to the top of the page. An example can be seen on my website on the right. A very useful thing, especially when there are a lot of long articles on the site) It does not need to be configured.

There are many similar plugins. I recommend typing this name into the search bar and downloading it from wordpress.org. Choose the option where there is a Vkontakte button. This option has very flexible settings in Russian, so I strongly recommend using this option.

These are all the most necessary WordPress plugins in Russian that I can recommend. Study the information and look for other useful plugins, recommend them in the comments. But it's better not to install too much - it will load the site and slow it down.

Are you one of those who have hired multiple writers or contributors for your WordPress site? Does communication with authors take a lot of time? Do your emails to employees mostly contain the phrases "Don't use external image URLs", "Use an H3 tag", or "Please center images"?

You are not alone in this! Team management is not an easy task, especially remotely. How many of us work in an office where you can bring the whole team to one table? For most bloggers, this is not possible.

Luckily, several WordPress developers have taken on this issue. Thus began the era of eliminating the problem of multi-author blogs in WordPress. These plugins take team collaboration to the next level, meaning you can now use WordPress to communicate with employees instead of third-party software like Basecamp.

1.Edit flow

Edit Flow is one of those plugins that should be at the core of WordPress. We use it even on blogs with 1 author. The calendar view and post status feature makes it almost indispensable, especially for multi-author blogs.

This is one of the most powerful and affordable multi-author plugins. It is so huge that the developers divided it into 7 different modules, each responsible for a specific function:

  • Calendar - convenient display of your content by month
  • User Status– defines the main stages of the progress of work
  • Editor's notes– comments in the admin panel for a private discussion between the author and the editor
  • Editorial metadata- don't overlook the details
  • Notifications - get content updates
  • Budget History - View budget for upcoming content
  • Group of users– divide users into sections or their functions

This plugin can single-handedly manage the progress of your entire site.

2. Co-Authors Plus

One of the main requirements in multi-author blogs is the publication of a post that has been worked on by several authors. As we all know, WordPress posts can only have one author. You can't just write "Samantha Brown and Harry Woods worked on the article." But with the Co-Author Plus plugin, it's possible!

And as a bonus, you don't have to create a user account for the author. Just create guest author profile and give it authorship.

3. CoSchedule

This plugin connects to CoSchedule, a group content calendar. Send unlimited social media posts with every blog post.

CoSchedule is the first and only editorial social media calendar that combines blog and social media schedules. This way you can save time and increase views while scheduling blog posts and social media posts.

4. Dashboard Notepad

Or as we like to call it - Stickers for WordPress! This plugin will be very useful for communicating with authors on your WordPress site.

As an administrator, you can create a widget, customize its size, and send messages. You can also choose who to show the message to, depending on the user's role. The message will be printed to the console when the user logs into their account.

5. Genki Pre-Publish Reminder

A bit like Dashboard Notepad. This plugin displays posts on stickers at the top of the sidebar or below the main post editor on the editor screen or page in WordPress. Write your message to the Reminder List and customize it using the available options.

When opening the WordPress editor, users will see a message.

6 Editorial Calendar

This is the perfect plugin for aspiring bloggers. It will help you keep up with your posting schedule by displaying deadlines on your calendar. Everyone knows that updating a blog regularly (not necessarily daily) is the essence of success.

With this plugin, you can change the posting schedule using a drag-and-drop interface, quickly edit the post title, content, and publish time, and manage multi-author posts. It doesn't matter if you're the only blogger or have other employees, you must install and actively use Editorial Calendar.

7. Drafts Scheduler

At times, you spend a lot of time on articles “completely ready, you just need to click the “publish” button. We, too, have often been in a similar situation.

Publishing articles is really time consuming. This plugin will automatically schedule all your projects based on the time frame you set. For example, it could be a set number of randomly selected entries that are published at regular intervals.

The downside of this plugin may be that all scheduled entries are published, even those that are not yet ready. Luckily, there is an Undo Schedule button that will save you from accidentally posting unfinished projects.

8. Top Authors

This plugin is a powerful motivator. It shows the list of authors of your site as a widget based on the number of published posts. The author with the most publications will be at the very top of the list.

The widget can be installed anywhere on your site.

9 Fancier Author Box

Usually, after each entry, a short biography of the author is placed. All high-profile blogs attach author biographies to their posts. This creates a psychological bond between reader and writer. Some blogs even combine bios and a subscription form.

However, traditional windows with author biographies lack functionality. Their design and characteristics change only depending on the theme used. The Fancier Author Box solves this problem by providing the ability to add features to the biography box.

Now you can connect social media accounts, show recent posts, pages, and custom post types, and redesign each element as you wish.

10 Audit Trail

Audit Trail is somewhat like a national security agency when it comes to registered user activity. You can track what the user does when they enter the site. The plugin saves the username, time, activity and IP address. You can also see all the pages that the user viewed after logging in.

11. Good Writer Checkify

Always remember the golden rule - only use the plugins you really need. Additional plugins mean additional load on your server. If you are using other tools like Any.DO , Todo.ly or even Basecamp then keep using them. We have used them ourselves and can recommend the first and last service.

All plugins are very good, but we would recommend to pay special attention to Editorial Calendar . This is a must for every responsible blogger. Of course, he can sometimes be annoying, but the main feature of all successful people in history has been and remains discipline.
