How to fill in the index in Google Play: instructions for entering the index. How to solve the problem with entering an index in Android Pay What is an index in google play

There is a bug with postal codes specific to the countries of the former Soviet Union in the Android Pay payment service. This can be a problem for those who live in Kyiv and want to use the service.

What is the problem?

The capital of Ukraine administratively has a special status and does not belong to the Kyiv region (Sevastopol has the same status, but Google services do not work on the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea). But the service still asks to enter the region of residence, and when you try to enter the post office index in Kyiv, an error message may appear. The area in the application has a higher priority than the index, which leads to a mismatch.

Solutions

The first option is to select Kyiv in the "City" column, and then do it again in the "Region" column, and then enter the real index.

If the first option did not work, then you should choose Kyiv and the Kyiv region, and then write the index of any city in the metropolitan area. For example, let's call the Boryspil index - 08300.

Specifying the index is a formality, and even if Google decides to send a paper letter to the user, it will still come to the right address. At most, there will be a slight delay in the mail.

There is a bug specific to Russia with postal codes in the Google Play payment service. It is familiar to some users of other Google services, including AdSense.

The fact is that although Google knows the indexes of post offices in all settlements of Russia, it does not fully understand such a term as “federal city” and requires you to indicate the area to which it refers. For residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg, when trying to enter the index of their post office, an error message appears. You can't take screenshots in Android Pay, so don't be surprised if the article is illustrated with photos.

Geographically, the city of federal significance is located inside the region, but it has a special pool of indices. In this case, the area has a higher priority in the application - this is what leads to the error. For some reason, Google hasn't addressed this issue for years, but there are two ways around it.

The first way: you need to indicate the name of your city in the “City” column, then select it again as an area and enter a real index.

The second way: you need to specify Moscow or St. Petersburg as the city, select the Moscow or Leningrad region and write the index of any regional city. For example, for Moscow, the post office 140500 in Lukhovitsy is suitable, and for St. Petersburg - 187111 in Kirishi. Specifying an index is a mere formality, and even if Google decides to send you a paper letter, it will still reach your real address, it will simply be redirected from the regional post office to the one that is near your home.

Many users who want to start making purchases on the Play Market often do not know how to fill out the index on Google Play. The need to enter such information appears when linking a bank card, since to register Google Wallet you need to enter all the data that you registered when creating a regular payment card, and the index is one of them. In the article, we will tell you how to enter the index correctly and what to do if an error occurs after entering.

Where, how and when to enter the index in the Play Market

Usually you need to enter the index when filling out the registration form in Google Wallet, when you link a bank card to the Play Market. How to do this, we will consider below.

Step 1. Register a Google account

If you already have Google mail, while the account is synchronized with the Play Market on your smartphone, feel free to skip this step. If you do not have mail or you have not yet logged into Google Play using it, follow the instructions below:

You can use the Settings menu to create or sync a new account with your device. Find the "Accounts and sync" sub-item in it, then the "Add an account" section and the "Google" sub-item. You will need to choose after clicking the "Next" button what to do, "Create" (if you have not created mail yet) or "Login" (if you already have Google mail).

Step 2. Linking a bank card

You will need to enter an index only if you decide to pay for the application using a VISA or MasterCard bank card. Go to wallet.google.com. This is where your new Google Wallet will be created.

Log in using Google mail. A form will appear on the screen that you will need to fill out. Here you will need to enter the card number and expiration date, full name, address, postal code, as well as other data, including the CVV code of the card. Remember that it is important to enter all the information as you entered it when you received your bank card, otherwise the registration will not be completed after the data has been verified.

After you have entered your details, read the terms of service as well as the privacy terms. To complete the registration process, of course, you need to agree with them. After registration is completed, 1 dollar will be debited from the card. Within a month (after reconciliation of all data and their confirmation), the amount will be returned to the account.

Step 3. Choose a payment method

You can link both a bank card and a virtual one created in the payment systems menu to the Play Market. If you have a verified account in Qiwi or Yandex.Money, go to your personal account of the payment system, and then choose to create an Internet card. It will be virtual, i.e. you will not have a plastic analogue on your hands. But with the help of Qiwi Visa Card or MasterCard Prepaid details, you can pay for applications on Google Play. Binding follows the same scenario as registering a bank card. You will need to enter the card number, expiration date, your details, etc.

How do you pay for applications?

Just go to the desired application in the "Play Market", and then click on the "Buy" button. The Google Wallet menu will appear. Check all data. Click on the "Accept and Buy" button. The download will begin immediately, and a receipt with information about the money withdrawn from the account will be sent to the mail.

If Google throws an error due to an incorrectly entered index

Of course, you need to fill in all the points very carefully. But if you correctly entered the card number, CVV code, full name, address and postal code, but Google Wallet still did not confirm the registration, reporting an error related to entering the index, you need to look for a solution. This message often appears among Play Market users, while a single solution to the problem has not yet been formed, so we will tell you about the most popular ways to get around this error.

Entering an index is associated with various subtleties, because in the USA, for example, the index is 5-digit, in Russia it is 6-digit, and in some CIS countries it includes letters. Sometimes your index is not suitable for unknown reasons, because you entered everything correctly, and Google still does not want to accept the information.

To pay in the Play Market for any application, you will need to have at least a Google Wallet. Various methods are used to replenish it, but not all methods of transferring funds will be able to help with this. For example, direct payments from WebMoney, Yandex.Money, Qiwi money and other similar services are not suitable for this. In addition, regional restrictions apply. In this article, I will limit myself to an overview of possible ways to replenish the wallet for buying applications in the play store only in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

In fact, there are only 2 ways to use it:
- using a real bank card or a virtual card designed for paying through the global network);
- through mobile operators (Megafon, Beeline - the function is available only in Russia).

Let's take a closer look at the process of paying with a physical (valid) card. First of all, you need to create a Google account. Let's assume that you have it, because most Android OS users activate a Google account immediately after purchasing a gadget. Next, you need to select an application or game and tap on the button with its cost.

After that, you must agree to the terms of use of the electronic settlement system. Then choose a payment method using a card (both debit and credit cards are suitable). Tap on the "Add a card" function.

To purchase on google play, you can use almost any bank card such as Visa, MasterCard. However, there is an important point - your bank must necessarily allow you to pay via the Internet using a card. If in doubt, this question can be clarified with the bank's support service. This service may be provided by default, or you may need to activate it separately.
After that, you need to fill in the information fields displayed on the screen.
The first step is to enter the 16-digit card number.

The "MM" field offers to indicate the month of expiration of the card, and the "YY" field is the same, only for the year.

The last code you need to enter in order to start shopping on the play store is called CVV2 or CVC, and it serves as a security measure.

After filling in the above parameters, another menu will open, in which it is proposed to indicate the user's full name, country, city, phone number and postal code.

Attention! It is imperative that all the information provided is 100% similar to the data provided to the bank employees. After entering the information, the "Save" button will appear, after confirming which a personal Google wallet will be created.
I must say that you will have to go through such a detailed procedure for entering information once, in the future the system will remember all the entered data. To purchase applications in the google play market, you need to have enough funds in your Google wallet account to complete the requested operation.

Virtual cards for purchase in the play market

If you have no desire to issue an official plastic card at a bank just to make purchases in the play market, you can use the very convenient service offered by Yandex.Money or Qiwi Wallet. The latter allow you to easily and quickly create virtual cards in MasterCard Prepaid and Qiwi Visa Card formats. They differ from real banking "plastic" only in that they exist only virtually, and all the details are available in the personal account of Yandex.Money or Qiwi.
Paying with a virtual card is exactly the same as paying with a regular deposit or credit card, i.e. will require you to enter the same information: verification code, card number, expiration date, etc.

Google Wallet is used to pay for purchases in the Play Store. It can be replenished in a limited number of ways (for example, it cannot be directly replenished via electronic money Qiwi, Yandex Money, WebMoney, etc.). In addition, there are regional restrictions, so I will only talk about those methods that are relevant for Kazakhstan, Belarus, Ukraine and Russia.

In fact, only 2 payment methods are available:

  1. Through a card (real bank card or virtual for payment via the Internet).
  2. Through mobile operators (Beeline and Megafon, relevant only for Russia).

Now more about paying with a physical (really existing) card. First of all, you will need a Google account, I hope everyone has one. Choose a game or application, and click on the button with the cost.

Almost any MasterCard and Visa cards are suitable, as long as your bank allows you to pay via the Internet using a card. You can find out this information in the support service of your bank, in addition, the Internet payment function can be connected separately.

In the field "MM" we write the month of expiration of the card, in the field "YY" - the year of expiration.

In the CVC code field, write the last 3 digits that are on the back of your card.

Just in case: CVV2 and CVC code are the same, they are just called differently in MasterCard and Visa cards.

As soon as these fields are filled in, the following ones will open. Cardholder - your full name, indicate your country, city, postal code and phone number.

All data fields must 100% match those that you provided to the bank employee upon receipt of the card, otherwise the card will not pass the check. When you fill in all the fields, click "Save". At the same time, a wallet will be created in your Google account, which will be replenished from the added card (of course, there must be money on it). From this wallet in the future it will be possible to make purchases in the Play Market without filling out the fields in a new way.

Paying with a virtual card

Let's say you don't want to contact banks and get a card. It doesn't matter, because you can create a virtual one. To do this, you must have a verified account in Yandex Money or Qiwi Wallet. By logging into your personal account of your e-wallet, you can order an Internet card
