Usually in a large family they have a common account for simplicity. When you used to set up synchronized reception of calls from any iOS devices for convenience, don't be surprised if all devices ring at once when you receive an incoming call. Therefore, it is quite a common problem for many users when several people use an iPad, iPhone and a computer at the same time, which are connected through a common Apple ID.
Sometimes this feature is quite handy. For example, if you are using an iPad with headphones on, you can skip an incoming call for an iPhone, but if your iPad or Mac is connected to a phone number, you will also receive an incoming call directly on your iPad and, using the FaceTime option, you can answer the call.
Many people ask the question: how to turn off calls on the iPad, for example, when you watch a movie or sleep. For example, you can hear a simultaneous call for both iPad and iPhone, so you can’t immediately figure out where the call is coming from. Since the incoming call is synchronized simultaneously with both devices, the sound is correspondingly amplified twice. Therefore, having synchronous connections is often inconvenient, and not always safe.
In order to disable incoming iPad calls, you need to open the “FaceTime” video calls option in the “Settings” section and turn off the feature activity slider in the “iPhone Cellular Calls” subsection. At the same time, the Wi-Fi connection must be activated on the iPad, iPhone or other device. In addition, all synchronized devices must be connected to the same Internet network with WI-FI enabled.
Deactivating Handoff Messages
The same popular way is to turn off the “Handoff” continuity function in the “Basic” settings menu. “, which allows devices to work together from different locations. The "Handoff" function is a tight relationship with iOS devices. If your iPhone or iPad with iOS 8 is near your Mac, this feature helps you start any action on your iPhone and finish it on your iPad.

How to disable iPad calls from iPhone
In order to disable duplicate calls to the iPad, you can do this directly from your iPhone, where the SIM card is installed. To do this, open the "Settings" menu of the iPhone and open the "Phone" subsection, and then go to the "On other devices" option.
Next, select the smartphone option "Allow calls on devices" and turn off any connected devices that you no longer need: iPad, Mac computer or laptop. If you want to leave some iOS devices for a duplicate call, you can leave them on. Disabling is done by dragging the activity slider to the inactive state. Now incoming calls to the iPhone will not be duplicated on other devices that have a common ID.
Owners of several Apple devices have already managed to try out and even get used to some of the features of the Continuity function. In fact, the functionality and idea inherent in Continuity are cool, although not always everything works 100%.
As practice has shown, not everyone was happy with the new features. For example, many users are annoyed by the fact that phone calls from iPhone now arrive on iPad and MAC at the same time. But not many people know how to turn it off ... We'll talk about this today.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, let me briefly describe what is Handoff (Continuity). Starting with OS X Yosemite, a set of new Mac OS and iOS features were introduced to improve productivity on Apple devices... Increase efficiency, if you will.
So, when you start writing a message on your iPhone, you can finish it on a MAC or iPad using Universal Clipboard. Or, if you have an Apple Watch, you can set up your MAC to "Auto Unlock" without entering a passcode.
You can also receive iPhone cellular calls on other devices... All of these features and more are grouped into one group called Continuity.
How the function works
The Continuity function works under the following conditions:
- Each device is signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID
- Each device is signed in to FaceTime with the same Apple ID
- Each device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network
- The Handoff function is activated in the settings of each device (this is done differently on different devices)
As I wrote above, NOT every user is delighted with three simultaneously ringing i-devices in the house when they call you on the iPhone. If you are one of these users, do not despair - there is a way to disable this feature. Below are small instructions for each type of device.
If you want to turn off "iPhone (Cellular Calls)" on ALL additional devices, then on the main iPhone, go to and turn off the slider " Allow calls". Here, from the list below, you can specify which devices still allow calls.
Disabling Cellular Calls on Another iPhone/iPad
If you still want to simultaneously receive cellular calls on some devices (for example, on a MAC), but disable the second iPhone (or iPad) from this function, then proceed as follows:
STEP 1 - Get the iPhone/iPad you want to turn off "iPhone (Cellular Calls)"
STEP 2 - Go to Settings - Phone - On other devices and disable " Allow calls»

Disabling Cellular Calls on MAC

How to disable duplicate FaceTime call on iPhone
The easiest way is to turn off calls on the iPhone or iPad itself. To do this, go to “Settings” - FaceTime, and then turn off the “iPhone Cellular Calls” function.
Disabling "Cellular Calls" in this way is a radical way, which is not the most successful, because the user will not be able to call from other devices with a similar account. A more subtle way is to leave the Cellular Calls slider on on the iPhone and off on the Mac.

The latest generations of all smart devices from Apple have a built-in "Continuous" or "Continuously" function. With its help, the details of some applications, configuration settings, calls and text messages can be duplicated on different gadgets belonging to the same owner.
Sometimes users have a situation where the same call comes to two iPhones. This brings a lot of inconvenience, especially when you are away from home or want to use only one gadget for making calls. Also, the function will be unnecessary if one of your devices is used by another family member. Frequent calls will interfere with the work with the gadget.
In what cases is there a duplication of calls on the iPhone?
The phone-to-tablet call will only be repeated if a number of continuity requirements are met, namely:
- All gadgets must be connected to the same Apple ID;
- Connection of devices with one router (single Wi-Fi network) or connection to one access point;
- Gadgets share the same ID in the FaceTime app.
To deactivate the function, one of the above features must be changed. For example, disconnect another gadget from the router or FaceTime. Note that you should not try to change your Apple ID, otherwise this may lead to loss of access to the device. It is recommended that you use the ID that you set up initially after purchasing your iPhone.
Disable Sync in iPhone Settings
If you want the data on incoming and outgoing calls to no longer be duplicated on all your iPhones, you just need to deactivate the unnecessary option in the phone settings:
- Go to Settings and click on "iMessage";
- Scroll down the window;
- Deactivate the "Calls from iPhone" slider;
- Reboot both devices that are syncing.
For some users, the problem of duplicate calls on the iPhone does not disappear even after deactivating the add-on. If this happens, repeat a few more steps:
- In the Smartphone Settings, open the "Phone" window;
- Click on "Calls through other devices";
- Disable call permission.
Synchronization of two Apple devices can occur not only due to the Continuity function, but also due to the connection to the same iCloud storage account. To fix the problem, it is enough to make sure that one of the phones does not send data to the cloud:
- Click on the "Settings" icon in the main menu of the iPhone;
- Select "iCloud Drive";
- Turn off the slider next to the "Allow to store data in iCloud" option.
Thus, all phonebook and dialer log data will not be sent to the cloud server and other device will not be able to receive it. Calls to iPhone and iPad will no longer be duplicated.
Another quick and effective way is to simply turn off the Internet on one of the gadgets. Without access to the global network, synchronization is impossible and there will be no more inconvenience with repeated calls.
Please note that even if the slider has already been disabled in one of the functions described above, activate it, and then turn it off again. This way you can eliminate possible errors and failures in the settings, which provoked incorrect operation during the synchronization process.
