As for domains, registration of a site in the .ru zone will cost 195 rubles. Domains are registered not for a hosting company, but specifically for a client, so it’s worth worrying about them. They are yours (you can even order a personalized certificate). Registrar - REG.RU (maybe there are other registrar partners). Note that if you register a domain through Reg.ru, then it will cost 590 rubles, which is many times more expensive.
There are, of course, specialized sites, such as 2domains, where domains are even cheaper. But the savings of 20-30 rubles, I think, is not significant (if you are not going to register domains in batches). So, if you decide to use hosting from Beget, then register the domain with them - there will be less fuss with binding, etc.
Who is the "Blog" tariff for? First of all, of course, for beginners. But "beginners" in different fields is a loose concept. Look, if you are a thousandth blogger, will you call yourself a newbie? Unlikely. And this tariff will easily allow you to host a blog with attendance of about 1000-2000 uniques, if not more (it all depends not only on attendance, but also, for example, on plugins and other loads).
As you can see from the screenshot, the average load over 7 days was 9.46 CP. With allowable tariff 65 CP (by the way, I now have this parameter increased to 85CP , such as a bonus). That is, the load can be increased by about 7 times more and at the same time remain within the permissible norm. Let's turn on the math: my average traffic at the time of this writing is ~ 300 uniques (plus or minus) x 7 = 2100. Thus, if my traffic was now about 2 thousand, I would safely sit on the same minimum tariff (update: in 2016, I am still sitting on this tariff and it is enough for me, attendance can be safely increased again by 1.5)
By the way, the allowed load (CP) per day on all shared hosting tariffs is exactly this figure. But it can be increased manually (if you suddenly need it), as well as some other parameters (i.e. upgrade the current tariff, and not switch to a more expensive one):
An attentive reader could notice that in the screenshot of the loads from January 28 to February 3, the load from my site was prohibitive - around 100 CP, and even reached 125 CP (this option is available only on VIP tariffs, which allow you to host 50 sites or more, well, or for a fee), and then dropped sharply.
So, at one time my blog caused just crazy loads on the server, and until recently I didn’t know what the reason was (well, not in my own 300 uniques =)). In the end, I nevertheless found out what was the matter and fixed the problem. I will write a separate article about this.
And one more thing about loads. As you know, some hosters sin by deliberately attributing overload to their customers in order to transfer them to a more expensive tariff. I responsibly declare that Beget definitely does not do this.
Firstly, you yourself can observe the statistics on loads - daily and hourly. Secondly, my case showed that for many months I "devoured" as many resources as dozens of sites could "eat" at the same time =) But, talking with support about this, I was assured that they were not going to block or force you to switch to another tariff (and in my case it would be at least a VIP tariff). Such is the story.
Own control panel (PU) and file manager
Someone likes universal PU like DirectAdmin, ISP Manager, Plesk or cPanel, someone prefers when the hosting provider has its own PU. Another thing is important - the control panel should be multifunctional and not truncated.
For beginners, I personally think it is preferable when the host has its own control panel - after all, such panels are more friendly and usable. But, sooner or later, in the future on a VPS, any blogger will still have to get acquainted with third-party universal PUs. And no matter how someone says that it’s better to start right away with specialized launchers, this is not entirely true. I am sure that having studied any "hoster" control panel, no one will have problems with the same cPanel. It's just going to be a little weird for a while.
Beget just has its own PU, but it is very functional - it can do almost everything that is available in special panels. But, unlike the latter, the Begetovskaya panel is very pleasant and convenient:

There is an opinion that the clients of a good hosting company don't even know if they have a good support or not. there is no need to contact the support service =) So it may be so, but there is hardly any webmaster or blogger who has never contacted technical support.

By the way, Beget was one of the first to inform its clients about these attacks and warn about the need to change the login address in the admin area and about other protection measures.
Support constantly keeps clients informed about certain events. It does not happen here that some planned work is carried out first, but they report this only when the client himself asks why his site was not available.
In general, I have absolutely no complaints about technical support. And I had to talk with them enough =) This is due to the very overloads from my site, which I have already spoken about.
In fairness, I note that the support did not indicate to me the exact reason for those loads, although he indicated where to dig. But there is nothing to reproach them with, they are not required to understand "from and to" in all existing CMS. They are primarily sysadmins. Yes, and I had a very non-standard problem (I didn’t find anything about it in Runet).
I also note that their ticket system, apparently, works on the principle of "who is free, he answered." Therefore, it may happen that you explain the situation to a person, and he is not entirely competent in this. But, again, for the sake of fairness, I’ll say that in such cases they don’t try to give you stupid advice, such as “reboot” or “you have viruses”, but immediately write that they will pass the ticket to the techies. And yes, this is a ticket system, i.e. there is no need to explain anything again to another person - he sees all the previous correspondence.
In addition to tickets, there are other communication channels - ICQ, Skype, telephones (free for Moscow, St. Petersburg and all of Russia), e-mail, Telegram. In general, everything is at a high level. By the way, there are also phones for Ukraine (also free). They recently entered this market as well.

The issue of backups is the most important parameter when choosing a hosting! Don't forget about it.
Some hosting companies only claim to make daily backups, but in reality it may not be the case. Some, for example, which I already wrote about, make daily backups, but you cannot manage them yourself, but only on request.
Specialized control panels store backups in your own disk space, which is also not very acceptable. First, imagine the situation if an attacker gained access to your hosting PU. Therefore, he can delete both all backups and the site itself (or delete backups and "infect" the site). Or in general, modify even the backups themselves. Secondly, in the case of file backups (and the database too), you will quickly exhaust your disk limit if you store them in the same place as the site itself. Well, and thirdly, not everyone will constantly download site backups (not databases) to their local computer. This should be done periodically, not daily (but you still need to do it!)
In Beget, backups are made automatically. Both files, and bases. They are stored on other servers. And you can manage them yourself:

You can also manually create a full backup of the current state of files and databases. It is recommended to do this before carrying out any significant manipulations with the site. Files and/or databases in this case are uploaded to your directory on the server in an archived form, and you can download them to your computer through a file manager or FTP client.
And again, for the sake of fairness, I’ll say: I noticed that for some reason there are no automatic backups for some days. There aren't many days like this, but they do exist. Why? Don't know.
In any case, do not forget to make additional database backups from your side - with plugins, scripts. For example, one of the best security plugins - - can make scheduled backups (at least every hour) and send them to your email.
Flexible payment system
I don't know why, but many companies (not only hosting ones) do not connect services like Robokassa as a payment system. Yes, this is an additional fee, but it is very convenient.
For example, a novice blogger who does not have the opportunity to immediately pay for a year of hosting (although it is cheaper) will pay monthly. And at one fine moment, his site may be blocked for non-payment - forgot to pay, not enough money, etc. This is especially true with the "not enough money" option. Anything happens.
But if his hoster connected the Robokassa payment system or a similar one, then the client could pay any amount directly from his phone (at least 10 rubles), thereby extending the payment for a couple of days. Until he gets to the terminal or receives a salary/stipend.

So I think the following:

Here is my personal example. About a month ago I changed the site template. It was April 15th. Up to this point, with my attendance (well, an average of 1100-1200 on weekdays), my workload varied around 20-25 CP. Based solely on attendance, your 2,000 visitors will be well within 65 CP. But look what happened next, here is the graph:
As you can see, it was from the 15th that the load doubled or tripled, and on some days even almost quadrupled. And it's the new template that's to blame, unfortunately.

Registration in Beget
A Russian person, by nature, is always on the lookout, so he will pull out the ruble only when he is sure that it will not be stolen - this is a big difference between us and the fearless Americans. Therefore, our hosting companies have to work not according to the generally accepted scheme “paid, test, if you don’t like it, we will refund the money”, but according to the Russian “test, then pay”. Almost all Russian hostings provide a test period without payment - you just register and start using it, however, Beget decided to surpass all competitors and made a test period lasting (drum roll) one month! I don’t know that you can test for a month, but this is definitely a plus.
Registering a test account is elementary: you only need to specify your full name, email address and cell phone (an SMS with a verification code is sent to it). All credentials are sent to your e-mail immediately, you can immediately start working! It took me 7 minutes to register, create screenshots and write this section: Beget minimized the time to start, this is a plus for me - I don't like to wait. Yes, and try at least once to register with Agave hosting: they don’t ask for the name of the great-grandfather on the wife’s side. In general, a good start - the fastest registration and the longest test period - let's see what happens next.
Control Panel
Hosting Beget, as I wrote above, went its own way, it created its own control panel so as not to buy ready-made solutions from cPanel or ISPmanager. When I entered the control panel, I got the impression that something was missing, there were too few icons, 
Or are they all well put together? If you go to any menu item (in the screenshot on the right, I am in the “FTP” section), then navigation is carried out through a pop-up menu. It's nice that from year to year Beget keeps up with the times and regularly refreshes the panel.
Payment
Hosting Beget cooperates with the RoboKassa payment acceptance system, which is much better than the Assist system that “stopped” in development, you should have seen their interfaces for stores, horror. By the way, it was precisely because of Assist that Aeroflot had big problems at one time - the payment acceptance system did not work for a whole week. 
RoboKassa provides various payment methods (electronic payment systems and Visa / MasterCard cards), you can see them on the screenshot. My test payment via WebMoney was credited instantly, there were no problems.

When working with FTP, no problems were noticed, the speed of uploading files to the server (from St. Petersburg) occurs at the maximum speed of the Internet channel. 
As for the file manager, it is present and its functionality should be enough for novice users. It looks simple and painfully familiar - a two-pane file interface that can be controlled from the keyboard (the arrows work to move between files, the TAB key - to move from one window to another). Here you can create archives, extract files from them, search by content, and much more. One minus, but bold - it does not always work stably, sometimes it gives such an error.
Beget work speed
Beget it is difficult to call PHP a champion in terms of speed, however, the stable execution time of the test script indicates an even distribution of server resources among the accounts located on it (as well as the absence of overselling - when clients on the same server are like herrings in a barrel). For more vital results, I “driven” popular CMS (Joomla, Drupal and WordPress): Beget copes well with standard applications, page generation time is a fraction of a second. When working with self-written CMS, coupled with high site traffic, do not forget about the creation of caching systems, this helps a lot to reduce the load, especially on budget hosting. 
For professionals, Beget (beget.com) offers a number of very useful tools - Memcached (in-memory data caching), Redis (distributed data storage), Tarantool (Open source NoSQL data storage). All these services are paid (the cost of each depends on the chosen configuration), but their presence is a definite plus - you rarely find such tools anywhere on shared hosting tariffs.
Websites and Domains
Here I thought why hosting called Beget? It looks like a long baguette that I buy in a store, and I think I'm not the only one who has such an association, I'll have to ask technical support. But back to the review: when registering with Beget hosting, one site is automatically created (in the ~login.bget.ru/public_html folder), and a technical address of the form www.login.bget.ru is also immediately created, by which you can debug the site before how the real domain will be directed to it. It would seem a trifle, but for the vast majority of Russian and foreign "production" hosting, this technical address cannot be recognized without contacting the support service (as if they are hiding it, by God), and this is the first thing that anyone who transfers their existing site to new hosting.
When the site is already set up, you can add an existing domain (section "domain management") and direct (link) it to the desired folder. By the way, Beget works correctly with Russian RF domains. 
For each site, you can select the PHP version (7 latest versions available) and CGI mode.
Backup or "what if .."
The importance of a data backup system (or “backup”) only begins to be appreciated after something has happened. You don't have to look far for an example: in March 2010, a fire broke out in the largest data center in Ukraine (where the servers of many Ukrainian hostings were located) due to a faulty fire extinguishing system. Only some of the hostings were then able to provide backups to their users, the fact is that some of the hostings did not create backups at all (although they should have), others stored backups in the same burnt data center, only on a different server.
As you can see, all data can disappear without a trace in one fell swoop, never rely on hosting, periodically make copies and keep them with you.
Hosting Beget stores backup copies of files and databases for up to forty days (not every day, but at certain intervals - see screenshot), the figure goes to the record, I don’t remember which hosting would have been longer. I tried to restore various copies, it works without problems (the ordered archive copy is automatically placed in the root of the account within 5 minutes). On the other hand, you don’t need to have any childish illusions that copies are stored in another data center, so always have your copy of the site data.
Update 2017: Some time ago, Beget launched a new and very interesting service - data backup from remote servers. The essence of the technology is simple: Beget (beget.com) automatically makes daily backup copies of files located on absolutely any hosting - you just need to specify the FTP connection parameters (login, password, server address). This can be useful for everyone who uses several hostings (especially of dubious quality - such as ) for different projects. If something happens - you will always have fresh copies of the files. The sad news is that this service was not popular and was soon curtailed.
