This review will focus on Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 3 (4.5) 4027D. This is a very budget model for people who want to get a smartphone for minimal money.

Design
The appearance of the device is not distinguished by anything remarkable: it is a typical rectangular brick with rounded edges. Of the unusual, it can only be noted that the huge touch buttons under the screen, devoid of backlighting. The cover has a soft-touch coating, thanks to which the device lies confidently in the hands. The body height is 132.2 mm, the width is 65.1 mm, and the thickness is 11.7 mm - the smartphone can be considered thick by modern standards. Its weight is 151 grams.
CPU
The hardware is based on a very budget 2-core MediaTek MT6572 processor. The operating frequency of the processor is 1.2 GHz, information on this subject is contradictory in various sources. The video chip Mali-400 MP 500 MHz is responsible for graphics processing. This hardware provides the ability to perform trivial tasks with a smartphone: calls, social networks, watching videos, launching applications, surfing the web, navigating. The Antutu synthetic test estimates the performance of a smartphone at about 12 thousand points.
However, given the insufficient amount of RAM, the user may experience a noticeable lack of performance. For example, the interface sometimes slows down. The speed of launching applications and switching between them leaves much to be desired. YouTube videos play normally in low resolution, but you won’t be able to watch online videos normally in a browser. Simple games a la Angry Birds run without problems. In resource-intensive 3D games, stuttering will sometimes be noticeable. And no graphics setting will help: there is too little RAM.
Memory
The manufacturer saved on RAM: in Alcatel Pixi 3 4027D, its volume is only 512 MB. For comfortable work with a smartphone, this is not enough, you need at least 1 GB of RAM. Periodic slowdowns in the operation of the device that occur when trying to load it with more than one simple task are proof of this.
Built-in storage capacity is also negligible: 4 GB, of which about 2 GB is available to the user. This is barely enough to install the necessary software, there can be no talk of any games. The battery life comes from a 1400 mAh battery. Not enough, but the iron is quite modest, and economically consumes energy. Camera
Alcatel Pixi 3 is equipped with a 5 MP main camera. The quality of the resulting photos is unsatisfactory, but it is quite consistent with the price category of the smartphone. The general blurryness of the pictures, the lack of proper detail - in general, a standard situation. You can use the flash to take pictures in low light. The camera is not equipped with autofocus, so photos can often be "out of focus", especially if you try to take a picture at close range. But there is an HDR mode, but it does not save the situation. Video can be recorded at a resolution of 1280 x 720, although the maximum available resolution in the settings is 840 x 480. The quality of the resulting videos is much better than the photo.
The front camera of 0.3 megapixels with interpolation up to 2 megapixels also does not shine with a good result. But for video calling it can be useful.
Display
The smartphone has a 4.5-inch TFT display. The smartphone manufacturer “forgot” to clarify the technology by which the matrix is made. Judging by not the highest viewing angles, we can assume that this is a TN-matrix. The screen resolution is 854 x 480 pixels, the pixel density is 218 ppi. However, the screen can not be called terrible - viewing angles and image quality are quite acceptable. The touchscreen recognizes 2 touches at the same time. There is no adaptive brightness control. The maximum brightness margin is not conducive to using the device in bright sunlight. But for the room brightness of the display is enough.
Network communications
Alcatel Pixi 3 4027D can work with two SIMs, they are installed in the appropriate slots under the battery. 2G GSM and 3G communication standards are supported. What did Alcatel rely on when bringing its new products to the public? First of all, on the "golden" combination of cost and functional load. A fairly powerful 2-core 32-bit MediaTek MT 6572M processor with a clock frequency of 1 GHz is fully consistent with the internal software of the gadget and successfully pulls all programs and applications installed by the manufacturer. The operating system is represented by Android 4.4.2. And even though this is not the latest OS model, but given that the phone is able to update itself to subsequent versions, this does not look so tragic on the whole.
In addition, the already existing characteristics of Alcatel One Touch Pixi 3 are adequately complemented by its compact dimensions - 121.3x64.2x11.6 mm and low weight - only 110 grams. It is these models that fit comfortably in any hand and do not look bulky. The touch screen, multi-touch with a TFT-matrix and an average diagonal of 4 inches, is capable of simultaneously distinguishing up to 2 touches and does not suffer from poor color reproduction or poor contrast. Summing up, we can say that the price set for Alcatel One Touch Pixi 3 perfectly corresponds to its internal content. Yes, without frills and various bells and whistles, but this is a great option when you can save money and not lose quality. The technical characteristics of Alcatel keep up with the times, there are no special glitches and freezes in the system, and in addition, this smartphone, due to the presence of two SIM cards, can easily replace two ordinary phones.
