There are 4 types of jailbreak: tethered, semi-tethered, semi-detached and untethered. The first two are not very common and will not be useful to the average user.
Almost all recent jailbreaks have been semi-untethered. This means that after each device restart, you need to re-launch the jailbreak application to reactivate the jailbreak and use Cydia's capabilities. Until you do this, your device will work in the usual way, as if there was no Jail before.
Untethered versions of jailbreak are now being released less and less due to the difficulties in their implementation. They do not have the same restrictions as the semi-detached ones. Untethered jailbreak does not disappear after rebooting the device.
Can I jailbreak apps from the App Store for free?
Yes, but we do not recommend installing pirated apps on your device. It's illegal and you also steal money from hardworking developers. We do not approve of piracy, we do not help solve problems, and do not provide support in matters related to piracy.
Is it easy to jailbreak?
Nowadays jailbreak is very easy to do. Typically, you need to download a dedicated jailbreak app and drop it onto your device using tools like Xcode or Cydia Impactor. For earlier versions, the jailbreak program had to be launched on a computer and the device connected using a USB cable. What is the best jailbreak tool?
In fact, there is no "best" jailbreak, as the tools usually only work with a certain set of firmwares prior to Apple's release of patches. For this reason, they are constantly updated and new ones are created. For example, you would use one tool for iOS 7.1.2 and another for iOS 11.3. The “best” tool, therefore, will be the one that cracks the firmware your devices are currently on. Sometimes there are several tools for the same firmware, or (for older firmware) Mac and Windows versions of the same jailbreak.
Is jailbreak paid?
Not. Never pay anyone to jailbreak.
The hackers who develop the jailbreak do it for free. They sometimes accept voluntary donations, so if you appreciate the work that has been done to make sure you can enjoy the fresh jail, feel free to drop something on the developers. However, there is never a charge to access this tool. If you find a website posing as a new jailbreak and asking you to create an account or pay for access, that is a scam. You're out of luck so far. There are currently no public exploits for iOS 12.1.3 and up, and all vulnerable firmwares are not digitally signed, which means you cannot downgrade them to this level. Block updates, stay at the lowest firmware level and wait for the next jailbreak.
