Program for scanning iphone documents. Scanner Pro

Today, there are many applications in the App Store that allow you to scan documents using iOS devices without resorting to the help of specially designed equipment. I decided to choose five of the most interesting free and paid programs that will appeal to many users.

Scanner Pro by Readdle

I'll start with the application that I personally use. Scanner Pro has a rather nice interface, designed in dark colors. On the main screen of the application, you have access to all ready-made documents that can be sorted by title and date, placed in folders.

There are two scan modes available. In the first case, we take pictures of the object and immediately start processing it, and in the second, we take several shots in a row, then edit the captured images in turn. During focusing, the application almost perfectly defines the boundaries of the document.

After the photo is ready, we can choose one of two filters, change the brightness and contrast for better display. The finished document can be saved to film, sent to mail or cloud storage in JPEG or PDF format. The operation of the application raises absolutely no complaints, but the price for the full version bites - 229 rubles.

Scanbot

Fast and easy scanner with automatic border detection and resolution up to 200 dpi. Just point the camera at the document and get a digital version in a moment. To optimize the quality, there are several color modes, and if necessary, the text can be immediately recognized and uploaded to the cloud. In case of especially important information, there is protection by Touch ID or Face ID.

ABBYY Fine Scanner

It's time to mention the free app. One of the main features of Fine Scanner is the ability to automatically select the best picture out of three taken by the user. I tested this feature, took many photos without focus, but I could not get the wrong choice from the application.

The application cropped the image with sufficient quality, finding its borders, and when saving, it allows you to select a category and tags, simplifying the search for documents, supports saving to the cloud, gallery and sending to e-mail. In short, Fine Scanner is a good free solution, there is nothing to add here.

PDFScanner

As the name suggests, this application can create documents in PDF format, so you will have to forget about saving to camera roll. A nice feature is that objects from the main screen can be simply dragged into the Dropbox folder for synchronization, without the need to open the document and select an action from the menu.

The developers have declared the function of automatic recognition of the edges of the object being shot, but in fact it does not work. I tried to take high-quality pictures, took pictures from different distances, but each time the application politely asked to crop the image manually.

The program allows you to choose different save formats (A4, A3, etc.), but if you do not want to get such a flattened image that came out of my experimental receipt, then you will have to set the size yourself.

Fast Scanner

A really great app. The free version of Fast Scanner has the ability to automatically find the boundaries of an object, adjust the brightness of the received document, which can be saved to film or sent by e-mail. Uploading to cloud storage is only available in the paid version.

The main difference between this application and those discussed above is the document editing function, with which you can make various notes and inscriptions right in the document, which I really liked. You can simply draw unwanted data on the image, if any.

Now iPhone owners can scan QR codes without having to install a dedicated app. All you need to do is point your smartphone camera at the code image and wait a bit. What could be easier?

In the past, the main problem with QR codes was the inability to scan them directly, and therefore it was necessary to install a special application. Has anyone used this?

Now this process has become elementary.

Apple has built QR code recognition into the camera app. This means that to read, you just need to open the camera and point it at the code image.

After that, a notification will appear on the screen prompting you to follow the link encrypted in the QR code. Clicking on it in your browser (usually Safari) will open the corresponding page.

The feature is enabled by default, so you don't have to mess around with settings.

  1. Make sure your iPhone is running iOS 11 or later.
  2. Open the camera on your smartphone and point it at the code.
  3. Make sure the camera is in focus and the QR code is clearly displayed on the phone screen.
  4. After recognizing the code, you will see a notification with the information that was encrypted in it. For example, the link contained in the QR code will appear.
  5. If the notification does not appear, then try zooming in or clicking on the QR code image to focus the image.
  6. Click on a notification to go to a web page, dial a phone number, or send a message.

How to enable / disable scanning QR codes in iOS on iPhone?

If you do not need this function or bothers you, it can be easily disabled through the settings.

  1. Open the settings menu of your smartphone / tablet.
  2. Scroll down the list and select the Camera app.
  3. Click the switch next to Scan QR Codes to disable the function.
