Play market waiting for wifi network reasons and solution to the problem. Why Play Market does not work via Wi-Fi: reasons and solutions Google Play does not work via Wi-Fi

YouTube and Google Play (aka Play Store) are probably the two most popular and necessary programs for Android. Without the first, you will not be able to watch your favorite videos, and without the second, you will not be able to install any program or game on your tablet or smartphone. I think everyone will agree with this.

And it's very sad when YouTube or Google Play doesn't work. It is when you connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi. And this happens quite often. Not so long ago, a question on this topic was posted on the site. He has already collected quite a few comments, so I decided to put the solution to this problem in a separate article. I'll tell you about the solutions I know. Which, judging by the reviews, really work.

The problem is as follows. We take our phone or tablet that runs on Android and is connected to a Wi-Fi network, open the same YouTube, and there is an error: "Check your network connection" and a gray exclamation mark.

And in the Play Store via the same Wi-Fi connection, an error appears: "There is no Internet connection. Check your Wi-Fi or cellular network connection and try again."

Although our smartphone is connected to Wi-Fi. You can even see it in the screenshot. no. Sites are opened in the browser. So the Internet is working. Other programs also have access to the Internet.

An important point: through the mobile Internet (3G / 4G) everything works. Play Store allows you to install applications and YouTube videos are displayed and played. Doesn't work over Wi-Fi only. And as a rule, only through some specific Wi-Fi network and on all Android devices. And maybe others too. It does not matter.

Problem: there is no access to these two services from Google when connected only to a specific wireless network. Everything works through another internet connection.

If you have YouTube and / or Market does not work through any connection, even through a cellular connection, then in the article I will also try to collect solutions for this problem.

To start:

  • Reboot your phone, tablet, Android TV box, or whatever you have.
  • Reboot your router. If possible.
  • Test YouTube and Market over another internet connection. Mobile connection, or other Wi-Fi network.
  • Try to open a website in the browser of your mobile device. You can try to go to the same YouTube. If nothing works in the browser, different sites do not open, then see the article.
  • It is advisable to check if everything works on other devices.

After these steps, you should already roughly understand what exactly the reason is. Well, build on the results of these checks if you ask a question in the comments.

Let's start with the main solution.

Change DNS in Android if YouTube and Play Store can't see your internet connection

As practice shows, it is the change of the Wi-Fi network DNS addresses that helps to get rid of this problem. Why it happens? I honestly don't know. Either because of problems with the provider's DNS servers, or something in the router settings.

Therefore, we need to register DNS addresses from Google in the properties of the "problem" Wi-Fi network on the phone. Or register these addresses in the properties of the Internet connection in the web interface of the router. Let's consider both options. But I recommend that you first check everything on your Android device. If it works, and you have several more devices with the same problem, then you can already try changing the DNS on the router.

I will show on the example of a Samsung smartphone. But there should be no strong differences between other devices.

Go to settings, in the "Connections" - "Wi-Fi" section. We click on our network and hold. A menu should appear where we need to select something like "Manage network settings".

These are the DNS addresses from Google. Which I talked about in the article:.

We check that proxies are disabled (No) and save the settings.

After that, everything should work.

One point: in Android, there is no way to specify only static DNS, and get the IP and gateway automatically. And this is not very good. Since disabling DHCP (get all addresses from router automatically), we have set a static IP address. In my case 192.168.1.164. And if, when reconnecting to this network, this IP address is busy, then we will not be able to connect. Unless you reserve this IP address in the DHCP server settings on the router.

Therefore, if you have problems connecting to a Wi-Fi network, then know that this is most likely due to static addresses. Just change the last digit in the address (from 100 to 254), or set DHCP back in Android settings. And DNS addresses can be registered in the router settings.

I show you how to do this using the example of a TP-Link router.

After that, all devices connected to this router will use the set DNS addresses.

I hope you managed to solve the problem with accessing YouTube through the app and the Google Play store.

Additional solutions for connection error in YouTube app and Google Play

It is possible that these two applications do not work even when connected to different wireless networks and over the mobile Internet. In this case, check if the Internet works on your smartphone at all. You can just open some site in the browser. If the Internet does not work, then we are solving the problem with the connection. At the beginning of the article, I gave a link to a page where everything is described in detail.

Well, let's look at a few more solutions that may come in handy.

I look forward to your feedback. Be sure to write if these solutions helped you. If you helped, then what exactly. Perhaps you managed to solve this problem in another way, which you can share with us in the comments.

Like Windows, the Android operating system allows you to install applications offline, however, most users prefer to use the Google Store for this purpose, or rather, the special Play Market program. This method is not only more convenient, but also safer than installing from an APK file, since many applications are scanned by an antivirus program before being published.

Alas, neither the Play Market nor the Android OS itself is perfect, so from time to time users have to face various errors, including errors in the Google Store. For some, the Play Market simply does not open, for others it cannot connect to the server, someone complains about the inability to perform this or that operation.

The reasons why the Play Market does not work are mostly related to malfunctions in the system itself, but it often happens that the fault of the Store's malfunctions is the user himself, who voluntarily or involuntarily changed the Android system settings. What if the Google store, which was functioning completely normal before, suddenly stopped working?

Temporary problems

App Store problems can be caused by temporary interruptions in system services. This fully explains why the Play Market does not work on Android. What to do? No matter how trite it may sound, a simple reboot of the device often helps in such cases.

It should also be noted that problems with the Store may be related to problems on Google's servers. It is very easy to check this, just try to open the Store in a browser or from another device.

Lack of internet connection

Check if everything is in order with your Internet connection, if you have enough funds in your account, if the limit of mobile traffic has been exhausted, if you have left the coverage area, if the source of the signal is a router, make sure that it distributes the Internet, and the mobile device sees the network and is connected to it.

Lost Store and Google services settings

It is possible that the problem is related to a failure in the settings of the Store itself or Google services. Eliminate this option. Go to the application management section and, finding the Play Market there, clear its cache. If this is not enough, click also the "Erase Data" button.

These actions will delete temporary files, reset the Play Market settings to their default values and, if the problem was here, restore it to work. The same steps must be repeated for the Google Play Services application. Please note only that after the reset you will have to log in again.

Problematic updates

If Play Market on Android does not start after the update, it is possible that the source of the problem was bugs in the update package. Try uninstalling the update or rolling back to a previous version of the app, if available. For these purposes, it is good to have some kind of application backup program on the device, for example, SYNCit HD.

Disabled Download Manager or Google Accounts

The Android operating system has a service application called Download Manager. It is believed that for the Play Market to work correctly, it must be running. Go to Application Management, go to the All tab, find the Download Manager application and make sure it works. If the Manager is not active, enable it.

At the same time, we recommend that you find the Google Accounts application and also make sure that it is also active. If this application is disabled, the Play Market will not open, and if it does, it will most likely work incorrectly.

Google Account Access Errors

The reason why you cannot enter the Playlist Market may be an error accessing your Google account. You can work around this problem by deleting and reconnecting your Google Account.

Since deleting an account may result in the loss of user information, you must back up important data before performing the operation.

The presence of incompatible applications on the device

Some third-party applications, in particular Freedom, can block access to Google services and thereby disrupt the Play Market. If you are using Freedom or another similar app and you suspect that it is the one that is causing the Google Store to malfunction, uninstall it. It is necessary to remove such programs correctly, namely, first the application must be stopped and only then the uninstall button must be pressed. Sometimes a running vpn service prevents the Market from working properly. Try to stop it temporarily.

HOSTS file changed

A number of third-party applications, such as, for example, the same Freedom, can modify the HOSTS system file, which is responsible for setting up connections with remote hosts. There is a possibility that some third-party program has written its data in this file, which prevents the normal connection to Google servers. Therefore, after completely uninstalling questionable applications, you should check the HOSTS file.

To access it, you need to be root. Let's assume you have them. Go to the file manager at the location / system / etс, open the specified file with any text editor and delete all content from it except the line 127.0.0.1 localhost. Save the file, reboot your device and test the Play Market.

Store files are corrupted

Another reason why Play Market does not start may be a violation of the integrity of its files. Such damage could have occurred after a virus attack or user manipulation of Store files. In this case, you need to try reinstalling the Play Market. Uninstall the application in the standard way, clean the system with CCleaner or another cleaner, then download the APK installation file of the Market from a trusted source and produce it in any way convenient for you.

Incorrect time is set in the settings

And now let's consider the situation when the Play Market does not work via Wi-Fi or mobile Internet and says "No connection", although it is known for sure that everything is in order with the Internet connection on the device. The most likely cause of this issue is the wrong time in the settings. Go to the date and time section and check the boxes next to the "Network time zone" and "Network date and time" options. After that, the date and time will be synchronized automatically.

Resetting the device to factory settings

Resetting to factory settings or Hard Reset is a tough method that should only be resorted to when other methods have not yielded results. Before resetting, it is imperative to back up your personal data, as well as the necessary applications, because they will all be deleted. You can start the hard reset procedure either from the Recovery and Reset section or from the Recovery menu (recovery mode).

Flashing

This is perhaps the most radical way to restore the Market. There have been cases where the Google Store, as well as other apps, services, and the Android operating system itself, continued to malfunction even after a factory reset. In this case, you can resort to flashing as an extreme option.

Brief summary

So, we have given the main reasons why the Play Market on Android often does not open and indicated what to do in most of the cases described. However, you need to understand that there are problems, if I may say so, of a private nature, which users of mobile devices with custom firmware have to deal with. The same should be said about the owners of Chinese mobile phones, in the firmware of which Google services are not used in principle. Errors in the Play Store, for example, after installing it on a Meizu smartphone, may be caused by other reasons, which should be considered in the context of the features of the mobile device and its software environment.

Problems with Google Play over wireless networks may be caused by network problems or application issues. For troubleshooting, step-by-step diagnostics of the connection and Play Market functions are used. In most cases, the quickest fix is to connect to a different Wi-Fi hotspot.

Solving connection problems

If you're having trouble using Google Play, check your Wi-Fi connection. To do this, try accessing sites through a mobile browser. If the pages are not loading, terminate the current connection. After that, reconnect to your Wi-Fi and try to access the Internet. If the error is repeated, this indicates problems with Internet access on the router being used.

Reboot your router and reconnect to Wi-Fi. To completely reset the settings, use the "Forget network" function in the interface of your Android smartphone. When connecting, you will need to enter the password again. In hidden networks, you also need to enter the SSID (the Wi-Fi name set in the router settings).

Note! If rebooting the router and re-entering your account information do not bring any results, contact your Internet service provider to resolve access problems.

Updating authorization data

The reason for the inability to enter the Market can also be problems with your Google account. For example, if you changed your account password and did not specify new parameters on your phone. In this case, go to the "Settings -> Accounts" menu and select the first item - Google account.

Open the options menu and select the "Delete account" line. The system will ask for confirmation before performing the selected action. Click "Yes" in the pop-up window and wait for all information associated with the selected entry to be erased. In the future, you can add the same account again by entering your email address and password. All parameters that were saved in the cloud storage will be restored.

Important! Before deleting, check what information will be saved and what data will be lost forever. Back up important data if necessary.

Other ways to restore work

Go to the parameters of the required utility (item "About the application" in the options of installed programs). In the interface that opens, click "Erase data", and then - the "Clear cache" button. Try to sign in to the app again.

Sometimes Play Market servers are unavailable for all users. This malfunction is not related to the settings of the smartphone or the Wi-Fi connection used. You can verify that the problems accessing Google services are global in nature by logging in through another device or a different network.

Advice! If you have the same access difficulties with different providers, or different smartphones or tablets, please try to sign in later.

Recently, many owners of Xiaomi smartphones unexpectedly faced a very strange situation. When you try to download an application from the Google Play Store, a regular picture appears with the inscription "Downloading" and a "slider" showing the progress of this very download, but a message hangs on the right: " Waiting for Wi-Fi". In fact, the download does not take place, and the" wait "can last as long as you like. Interestingly, the problem arises both when Wi-Fi is working normally and when you connect to the Internet via a SIM card via a mobile network. Moreover, its appearance does not depend neither from the firmware version nor from the model of the Xiaomi device.

It is clear that the reason for the error is not at all in the connection of the smartphone to the Internet. Experts have found that the version is to blame for all this. Google Play Store 7.6... To date, we managed to find several ways to solve the problem, and we are ready to introduce you to them.

Method 1: Substitution of the Google Play Store file

To fix the "Waiting for Wi-Fi network" error, try the following procedure on your Xiaomi smartphone:

Apps from Google Play Store should be downloaded normally, without the "Waiting for Wi-Fi network" error.

Method 2: Firmware Google Play Store via Recovery

In order to use this method, you need an unlocked bootloader and TWPR recovery menu. The manipulations to fix the "Waiting for Wi-Fi network" error are as follows:

After this, applications from the Market should be loaded normally.

The procedure for downloading any applications or games is greatly simplified by using the functionality of the built-in Play Market, which is initially available for all users of smartphones with Android software. At the same time, for the service to work, an Internet connection is required.

The standard for such events is a Wi-Fi connection. Under certain circumstances, the Google repository may not function using an access point, so there is discomfort when you need to install or find both specific information and an application. To solve the problem, you need to figure out why the problem occurs and how to fix the difficulties without professional help.

Why doesn't Play Market work over Wi-Fi?

  • Inconsistency between the set date of the month and the time on the phone;
  • Deviations in the operating system regarding the parameters of a correct connection to the Network;
  • Errors in the performance of a specific program;
  • The presence of a breakdown of the router or lack of traffic, provided that mobile data transmission is used;
  • Disruptions in the functioning of the Play Market, the cause of which is the Google developers.

Ways to solve problems

With full confidence in the cause of the problem, the site recommends checking the simplest and most understandable solution methods:

  1. Restarting the smartphone. The technique is effective for eliminating minor deviations in the correct operation of the operating system;
  2. Setting the correct date and time. One of the features of the built-in application store is the need to constantly check the compliance of the current device parameters in order to establish a connection. Therefore, with a minimal difference in settings, problems do not arise, however, significant differences complicate the normal synchronization of the Play Market. In practice, you only need to select valid data with respect to the data display;
  3. Inability to contact Google. The problem is extremely rare and can be resolved in the shortest time period. Signs of a problem in the company are characterized by unusually long or partial page loading, constant waiting for a connection to the service, as well as involuntary closing of the application. Therefore, the difficulty is only in anticipation, since all failures will be eliminated by the manufacturer's programmers in a few hours;
  4. Stopping or uninstalling Freedom can cause problems when trying to launch the app store, so you can re-download or reactivate the app and open it to resume. Then go to the settings section and select the "Stop" value in the upper right menu;
  5. restore to factory settings, having previously created a backup copy of the user files.

Incorrect synchronization with the modem

When the connectivity is not available only when using an access point, then you need to determine the problem of the router:

  • The primary manipulations relate to the performance check, while making sure in detail that all the LEDs are active, which confirm correct pairing. Displaying red indication means the need for specialist assistance;
  • If you cannot launch the Play Market, try using your browser to go to any site. Full exhaustion of the operator's tariff will not allow connecting to any resource. Additional information on the distribution of the Internet can be obtained directly from the technical support of the respective company;
  • Insufficient data transfer rate. The lack of downloading the Play Market may be due to the excessively long synchronization of the program via Wi-Fi. If the display displays a white interface for a long period with a power-on process and a subsequent notification of the end of the waiting time, then it is advisable to try to solve the problem with the provider regarding the quality of services and connection speed;
  • The presence of a ban on the connection from the Internet for your smartphone. From the settings section, select the "About phone" option and click on the "General information" item, where the valid MAC address of the mobile device is located. When viewing the modem parameters, you can make sure that a similar sequence is present in the prohibiting list, after which it must be removed and the router restarted;
  • Incorrect local access point password. Despite the presence of an active Wi-Fi image in the quick access panel, in reality there may not be a correct connection, so you need to re-enter the access code;
  • Incorrect router software. In this case, you need to go to the official resource of the manufacturer of the device and download the most relevant system;
  • In the absence of any effectiveness of the available methods, you can perform a factory restore with the deletion of all user data, therefore it is recommended to transfer important files to an external drive or computer in advance.

If it is impossible to correct the errors that have arisen by means of system manipulations, it is most likely that the problem lies in the breakdown of the technical part of the device.

In practice, detailed diagnostics will be performed only by a specialist in order to find out in which specific element the problem and the need for repair are localized.

Disruptions in the work of Google Market

  • Register or go to another Google account, since it remains possible to block the main account;
  • Install the latest updates, while it is recommended to create a backup copy first;
  • If you have a saved earlier version of the Play Market, it is advisable to install it instead of the current modification. In practice, it is advisable to use utilities, for example, Titanium Backup;
  • Full recovery of the operating system, provided that the TWRP Recovery functionality has been used in the past, and in the menu options, you must select all categories in addition to the microSD card, followed by installation of stable software;
  • Delete cache. Through the settings, open the "Applications" section and click "All applications", then clear the data of Google services. The performance check can be carried out after restarting the smartphone;
  • Please use the official MIUI software, as third-party modifications often have glitches.

Difficulties with access settings

If the mobile communication parameters are set incorrectly, then you need to edit possible inconsistencies:

  • Check the system file that ensures the correct exchange of data between the device and the local network; in this case, you will need a specialized Hosts Editor application, but full use requires superuser rights. The component is located at "/ etc / hosts". You need to make sure that there are no fixes, for example, as a result of using a banner ad blocker or manual innovations. Additionally, the data can be violated by malicious programs, so you should exclude all information other than "0.0.1 localhost", then save and reboot;
  • Check the proxy of the connected network is correct, as there may be no mobile data transfer. In practice, it is required to study the set parameters of the access point through the VPN section in the settings of the Xiaomi smartphone, followed by deleting and restarting the phone.

If all of the above recommendations are ineffective, then the most radical method is available - reinstalling the software, while it is highly desirable to use the international official version, which is provided with no glitches or problems.
