Another tablet from HUAWEI visited our editorial office. This time it is a 10-inch model - MediaPad T3 10. The tablet will be interesting first to those who are looking for an inexpensive device with a large screen and good technical characteristics.
Before us is a typical tablet PC. Outwardly, everything is expected, the tablet has rounded corners and edges, and looks quite decent. Available in two colors: gold and gray. The back is metal, on top there is a plastic insert, on which, in the corner, the lens of the main camera is located, there is no flash. The build quality, despite the low price tag, is excellent. For its class, the tablet has an acceptable weight - 460 g. Dimensions for a 10-inch are small: 229.8x159.8x7.95 mm. The case is non-slip, the tablet is comfortable to hold.
The controls are located, seemingly convenient. Why, we will answer below. There is a microphone hole on the top end. At the bottom there is a single speaker. On the left side - 3.5 mm for headphones, a tray for a SIM card and a memory card. On the opposite side - the power button and volume rocker.
Everything seems to be correct: with the horizontal orientation of the screen, the fingers of the right hand lie on these buttons. But there are some apps, like Instagram, that only use vertical orientation. Moreover, Instagram itself decides where the bottom is in the vertical orientation, and where the applications are up, if to put it more simply - it allows you to use its interface strictly in one horizontal orientation. So, Instagram turns itself so that the power button and volume rocker are on the bottom. This imposes some inconvenience when using a tablet on Instagram.
The front part is covered with glass, which, due to the lack of an oleophobic coating, willingly collects fingerprints.
The screen is actually just under 10 inches - 9.6. Used IPS matrix with a resolution of 1280 × 800 pixels, 157 PPI. Despite the low resolution, the screen as a whole makes a pleasant impression: excellent viewing angles, a good margin of brightness, adequate color reproduction pleasant to the eyes. The tablet supports a color temperature setting, as well as an eye protection mode, when activated, the ultraviolet radiation is reduced, and the image becomes yellow. Above the screen are sensors and a front camera lens. There is only the manufacturer's logo under the screen, there is no fingerprint sensor, which is forgivable for a budget device. Since there is no sensor, on-screen navigation buttons are used for control, which can not only be swapped, but also moved the entire navigation bar to the right or left with a simple flick of your finger.
Let us remind you that the tablet is inexpensive, and, of course, cannot have top-end hardware, so the tablet's performance is four-plus, on a five-point scale. It uses not the fastest 4-core Qualcomm MSM8917 processor with a clock speed of 1.4 GHz. The amount of RAM - 2 GB, built-in - 16 GB. There is also a more advanced version - 3GB / 32GB. It is quite comfortable to watch videos on the tablet. Movies in 750p run without problems, in 1080p sometimes, in dynamic scenes, there are short-term picture brakes. When it comes to gaming, the MediaPad T3 10 is hardly a gaming tablet. Resource-intensive games, the tablet pulls only at medium graphics settings. Less demanding games can be played without problems and at maximum settings. Not the strongest point of the tablet and its sound capabilities. It is difficult to expect high quality and loud sound from a single speaker. The sound is flat, but clear, without distortion. True, the location of the speaker, to put it mildly, is not the best, if you use the tablet lying on the couch, holding it in front of you, the speaker is constantly blocked, drowning out the already quiet sound.
The tablet runs on Android 7.0, with a proprietary shell EMUI 5.1. The shell is familiar. Icons of installed applications are located on desktops. The tablet is devoid of any kind of garbage, in the face of useless installed applications, which is good. There is everything you need: services from Google, a proprietary application for optimizing tablet performance, a file manager. The office suite Microsoft Office can be considered a pleasant addition. The "Kids" application can be called extremely useful. In it, you can not only draw, but also set up parental controls, restrict access to applications and tablet functions.
The tablet can be used as a smartphone, that is, make voice calls, send and receive SMS. Of course, he has no earpiece speaker - you will have to use a headset or speakerphone. In addition, the tablet has support for LTE, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi, interestingly, works in two bands: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, which allows you to use it to its fullest with good, dual-band routers.
MediaPad T3 10 pleases with a decent autonomy - up to several days with medium loads. For this, one should praise not only the low screen resolution, which consumes little energy, but also a decent battery in terms of capacity - 4800 mAh.
But the photos are unlikely to please: the 5MP and 2MP cameras give out pretty average quality images. On the other hand, are camera parts used on 10-inch tablets?
At the time of this writing, the minimum price for a tablet according to Yandex.Market is 10,600 rubles. The price is quite adequate for a tablet from a well-known manufacturer, with good features and an excellent body.
