Galaxy S9 color, which one to choose: black, purple, blue or gray? All Galaxy S9 body colors - which one should you choose? Who is this color suitable for?

Samsung Galaxy S9 color: which one to choose and not be mistaken?

The Galaxy S9 and S9 + have quite a few design differences compared to the Galaxy S8 and S8 +, but you can still recognize the new items at a glance, thanks to the new colors.

The new colors were given very romantic names - Midnight Black (midnight black), Lilac Purple (lilac), Coral Blue (blue coral) and Titanium Gray (titanium gray).

Apart from black, all other colors are introduced for the first time in the new smartphone lineup. Let's take a closer look at all four of the above colors.

Here is some color information so you know what to expect from a particular color model before making a purchase decision.

Samsung Galaxy S9 Midnight Black

Samsung has been making Midnight Black phones for several years now, and the Galaxy S9 version is no different from its predecessors. This is a rich black color, without much shine and blotches.

Due to its texture, the metal frame appears grayish, for example the Galaxy S8 has a shinier finish. In fact, this model looks more like the black Galaxy S7.

Who is this color suitable for?

If reliability is your main concern, then you should opt for this midnight black color. Firstly, scratches are not as visible on black as on other colors, and secondly, such a phone will not attract too much attention.

This color should also be chosen by those who are going to carry the phone in a case. Subsequently, it will be easier to sell such a phone when you get tired of it.

Interesting: Samsung comparison, what's the difference? (Camera comparison)

Lilac is a new color for Samsung, a kind of replacement for the Orchid Gray of the Galaxy S8. This color reflects light very well and it harbors real magic: in dark light, the color appears to be a rich lilac, and in bright light - gray-blue.

The metal frame, depending on the lighting, can be light lilac or pink. Of all four colors, Lilac Purple is the most outstanding, largely due to the fact that there are not so many phones in this color, moreover, depending on the incident light, it changes its hue.

Who is this color suitable for?

If you like to stand out and are not devoid of love for originality, then this color will be the most optimal for you, hardly anyone will have a phone of the same color: sitting at a cafe table, you will never confuse your phone with anyone else.

A smartphone of this color will be rare even among Galaxy S9 and S9 + users, so even among the owners of a similar model, you will remain unique. So if you value uniqueness, then the choice of this particular shade will be the most correct one.

Interesting: comparison of Samsung, the difference between the two devices.

Coral Blue - this name does not correspond to reality a little, it does not look like the previous blue models of Samsung, it is rather dusty blue. This color is even closer to gray than blue, especially in bright light.

In the dark, you can't tell this phone from titanium gray. The metal frame has a subtle soft blue tint, but not particularly expressive. This color, like lilac-lilac, reflects light well. It is in the bright rays of the sun that you can see all the facets of blue.

Who is this color suitable for?

Coral blue is the best choice between a humble midnight black and a vibrant lilac purple. It is a fairly simple color and elegant enough that with the right lighting this color will show all its richness. It is a pleasant and sophisticated shade that you will hardly regret choosing it.

Information about the Galaxy S9 smartphone began to appear long before its official release. Almost a few months before the presentation of the smartphone, we knew a lot about it - including the alleged colors of the device case. No, some intrigue of course remained, but in the end ...

All leaks have been confirmed and Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy S9 in the following colors:

  1. "Ultraviolet" - pink-violet color.
  2. Black Diamond is regular black.
  3. "Titan" - gray-silver.
  4. Sea Blue is a light blue color.

All these colors were shown to us at the presentation. And as usual (), we didn't even hope that they would all end up in Russia. As a result, it was confirmed - in our country, at the moment, the Samsung Galaxy S9 will be sold in the following body colors:

  1. Ultraviolet.
  2. The black.
  3. Grey.

I would like to take it and shout: “Samsung, that's enough already! Where is the most interesting blue hull color? Why does the same thing repeat from year to year - in some countries there are all the colors presented, but the flagship arrives in Russia somehow flawed? " Has gotten sick ... :)

Well, okay, while you have to live with it. Moreover, immediately after the presentation, there were interesting rumors that the release of unique color solutions was possible for certain regions. Among others, they called yellow, red and completely white colors, which, you see, is already much more interesting. Give variety to the masses! :)

But while this variety is not there, let's think about the best case color for the Galaxy S9?

  • The black. Color for all time. It looks especially impressive - the screen flows smoothly into the body, creating a sense of the integrity of the device. There is, perhaps, only one drawback - fingerprints will certainly be visible on the case, and there is no getting away from this. Of course, you can use a cover, but then it will cover all the beauty :)
  • Grey. For those men and women who are tired of the "standard" black color, and who want at least some variety. Fingerprints are almost invisible - that's a plus. It looks not very expensive (although, someone like ...) - this is a minus.
  • Ultraviolet. The most ambiguous color. On the one hand, it seems to be pink (the beautiful half of humanity, pay attention!). On the other hand, it seems to be purple (maybe some men will appreciate it!). If you are aiming to buy a Galaxy S9 in this particular color, be sure to go to the store and see it with your own eyes. We strongly do not recommend buying "blindly" - after all, it can both please you and greatly disappoint :)

Of course, it is a great pity that the light blue color of the Galaxy S9 case has not yet reached us.

In our opinion, this would be a strong move from Samsung: to present the buyer with a wider choice of body colors, while the competitor (iPhone X) is sold in only two colors. However, there is "ultraviolet", which brings at least some variety. And thanks for that :)

Updated! Samsung has added two new body colors for the Galaxy S9 to delight users!

To the three already familiar colors (black diamond, titanium and ultraviolet) are added:

  • Dazzling Platinum (Gold).
  • Burgundy (red).

Unfortunately, the "regular" Galaxy S9 cannot be purchased in burgundy color. Red is available only for the older model - Galaxy S9 +.

Although, it may be a temporary solution.

After all, if this color "comes in", then Samsung can paint the "simple nine". Why not?:)

P.S. Would you like to see the Galaxy S9 in a custom color scheme? Or are you quite satisfied with the proposed options? Share your impressions in the comments!

Buy to avoid confusion. Samsung's new phone is stylish and sexy, and choosing the right color is a big deal. Samsung confirmed four colors during the announcement, but it looks like some vendors will only offer two. And not the ones you expected. If you are wondering, “What color should you buy the Galaxy Note 9?”, Here are your options and everything you need to know.

We've seen tons of great color choices for Samsung smartphones in recent years, but the Galaxy Note 9 changed everything again. Each model is black from the front panel, only the sides and back panel are of different colors. This is because the front panel presents a 6.4-inch screen with an Infinity panel.

You don't really need the color on the front as there are only sensors and a camera that fit perfectly into the black bezels. If you're curious, different bezel colors don't look so good at all, an example is. In addition, the completely black design makes the screen look larger. So, should you buy the Galaxy Note 9 in black, blue, purple or copper?

We've already seen Coral Blue and a few other colors in the Galaxy S and Note series, but nothing like what the Galaxy Note 9 offers. Samsung has released four stunning colors: Midnight Black, Ocean Blue, Lavender Purple ) or Metallic Copper (Brown). They all look good.

However, there is some bad news. It looks like Ocean Blue (with yellow S-Pen) and Lavender Purple are colors only available in the United States. At least for now. We've reached out to Samsung and have yet to get a clear answer. When the Galaxy Note 9 goes on sale on August 24, US stores will only get these two colors.

Midnight black - you will watch a lot of movies, you do not want flashy color and you like black.

Ocean blue - the golden mean, quirky and flashy in its own way, but not too provocative, and also resistant to finger stains. You won't want to use a case, you will love the yellow S Pen.

Lavender purple - you want a bright and crisp color that stands out from others. Nothing to do with the iPhone. In certain lighting conditions, it looks extremely unique. You probably won't use a case and your phone will get a color that most people don't have.

Metallic Copper - you want a unique, beautiful and noticeable Galaxy Note 9 that is different from everything else on the market. It's so metallic that at first we thought we were seeing Rose Gold. But no, it's a stunning copper color. It is a little underestimated, but it looks great in the sun, frankly shines.

Which colorGalaxyNote 9 Choose: Video & Entertainment

While it comes down to personal preference, black is probably the best choice overall. It is less prone to fingerprints, less visible scratches, and is the best choice for watching videos or entertainment. The black bezels mean the huge 6.4-inch display matches the body of the phone nicely, making it look even bigger. Every smartphone has black bezels, but in this case, the black back continues the trend.

It may seem obvious, but black does matter. Unlike some colors, it does not focus on fingerprints, it looks neat and conservative.

ColorsGalaxyNote 9: Scratches and fading

Another thing you will want to consider when choosing a color is how easily it scratches. Or how badly the scratches are, if you don't plan on using a case. You don't want your smartphone color to accentuate scratches or fade after a year or so.

Keep in mind that whatever color you choose is fairly durable. Samsung covers the front and back with reinforced Gorilla Glass. The glass is above the paint. This means that you are scratching the glass, not the colored coating of your Galaxy Note 9. The color will never scratch, fade or show other signs of wear. However, black can make scratches quite visible, just like brown.

Have blue Galaxy Note 9 yellow S-Pen.

The editor's personal choice falls on black and blue. The latter has a lovely shade, it looks like a blue tint, and its yellow S-Pen looks very interesting. On the other hand, you can buy the yellow or purple S Pen from Samsung stores if you want to mix styles with other colors.

ColourGalaxyNote 9: Fingerprints and smudges

Fingerprints are what we have to deal with. Especially on such a large device, especially when your palms are sweaty from playing Fortnite. Due to the nature of the design, fingerprints and grease stains are inevitable. The glass front and back reflects everything and will always be so. The new blues and purples are likely to hide fingerprints, and black does a good job in that direction too. The brown is bright and showcases everything.

Again, we cannot be completely sure until we personally test each one. We recommend visiting a store to have a look at the phones yourself.

GalaxyNote 9: Cases

Consider if you're going to use a case with your Galaxy Note 9. A phone as expensive and beautiful as this isn't easy to put on a case. These are rugged smartphones, but they get scratched and damaged. One drop is all it takes for a shattered screen or cracked back panel.

So, if you are using a case, what color to choose and what does it matter at all. The cases cover almost the entire body of the Galaxy Note 9 except for the bezel and a small area on the back. You will not see anything except the black front panels, any color you choose can only be seen in the performance of the fingerprint scanner and two cameras.

What colourGalaxyNote 9 buy?

So, in conclusion, what color should you choose your Galaxy Note 9? Well, it all depends on you. Considering that some stores will only get the blue / purple options, the choice isn't great. However, if you wait, all colors will be available. The moment we understand the situation with the supply of different colors, we will tell you the details.

In our opinion, all colors look amazing and cool, but I like black for its style and smoothness. This is the color Plus has chosen, but with the Note 9 I plan to try blue. To be clear, does it matter to you? All colors look great.

In a survey of nearly 30,000 iPhone buyers since 2015, the black option remained the most popular option. So while most people choose black, be brave and try something different.

Let us know which Galaxy Note 9 you are planning to buy if you care. At the end of the day, most expensive smartphone owners will want to put on a case. It will cover the color but protect the curved glass screen.

Again, we'll update this article when we learn more about the additional colors of the Galaxy Note 9 and which will be available in Russia, as well as when.
