Process automation is perhaps the most actively advancing consequence of technical and information progress. In some areas, automation has already ended, in others it is beginning/continuing. At the same time, in each country, automation processes follow their own path; this depends on many factors that are already obvious - there is no need to focus on them.

However, one way or another, everyone strives for a certain standard, often shown in modern science fiction. I think that soon the world's population will reach a high level in this endeavor.

Naturally, a key point in the latest technologies is the development of various methods for using human biometric data. This is quite natural, because at the moment biometrics is the best compromise between information security and ease of use. It is worth considering that security is not the only area where biometric technologies are used.

Today I won't talk about fingerprint or retina readers. I would like to dwell on an equally interesting and very promising issue - the recognition and synthesis of human speech. More precisely, we will look at a fairly universal system that can automate a fairly common notification process. Alerts to whom? Yes, anyone, it all depends on the specifics of your activity. At the moment, for example, this system is very popular in the financial sector, utilities, telecommunications companies, etc.

System Description

Horn - this is the name of the public address system developed by the Center for Speech Technologies (CRT). The speaker is an expansion card for a PCI slot of a standard PC and, in fact, software for controlling this card. As you can see, there is nothing supernatural, but the capabilities of the system are simply amazing. Before we start talking about the possibilities, it is worth noting that expansion cards come in two types: 4 and 8 channels - respectively, which is more suitable, given the scale of the enterprise/organization.

Possibilities

I’ll start the story about the capabilities of the Rupor system with the fact that it uses a product based on Text-to-Speech (TTS) speech synthesis technology, which allows you to convert any text messages into speech. This product is called VitalVoice. To help you more accurately navigate the capabilities of VitalVoice, I will quote from the website http://speetech.com (Speech Technologies LLC - CTR partner in Belarus):

“VitalVoice fulfills the main requirement of users for speech synthesis systems: it allows you to voice any, even very non-standard texts (SMS, emails, Internet forums, etc.) in such a way that the listener gets the feeling that he is hearing a natural human voice.

The text can be read by different synthesis voices. Each voice is based on the use of a speaker's speech database of about 10 hours of speech, marked up at 9 levels, including text transcription, marking into words, syllables, allophones, pauses, word and phrase stress markers, types of intonation, non-speech phenomena and other phonetic phenomena.

For correct intonation and determining the place of stress in words, a powerful module for automatic processing of Russian text has been developed, using morphological, syntactic and semantic types of analysis. The use of this module, as well as such voluminous and carefully marked voice databases, make VitalVoice a unique Russian speech synthesis technology.”

Thus, the Rupor notification system performs its functions as naturally and imperceptibly as possible for the subscriber being notified, which is a rather important factor (who wants to listen to a broken electronic voice).

Notification is carried out in several ways: via the internal telephone network, via a city/long-distance telephone line, via GSM communication channels (mobile phones, SMS messages). The list of notification tools is impressive, isn't it? In fact, it is possible to deliver information anywhere in the country and directly to the subscriber. At the same time, the cost of a call does not differ from the cost of a regular “human” phone call.

Software

Another advantage of the Rupor system is its software. It must be said that the developers did a great job, since the management and planning program has all the functions that may be needed when planning an alert. A system of priorities among notified subscribers, notification on all phones of a specific subscriber, recording the subscriber’s response (a very useful thing), recording notifications about delivered SMS, importing notification text from an audio file - this is far from complete functionality.

The program has a pleasant interface, the text is clearly visible, given the non-standard color scheme of the window (I must say, it adds style). The interface is intuitive, not to mention the fact that it is also in Russian - in general, even users who are not particularly PC literate will have no problems with creating alert plans.

An extremely important point for most organizations is that Rupora software allows you to integrate it with 1C systems (another big plus for Rupora), any databases and ASKP "Complat". The latter, for example, is very useful for utility services and will make it possible to set up, say, automatic notification of debt for services.

Conclusion

In total, we have a flexible notification system that allows us to complete almost all tasks. This system will not only save time, but will also allow you to notify all necessary persons without unnecessary personnel costs. An important point in all this is the possibility of introducing the system into the structure of any organization.

If we talk about my subjective impressions, I can say that I am impressed by the capabilities and ease of use. I didn’t notice any obvious shortcomings, but it’s worth understanding that when integrating the Horn, problems may arise caused by subjective factors. Well, that's what technical support is for ;).

This version of the module for sending SMS messages supports work with industrial modems of domestic production - iRZ TU32, replacing discontinued Airlink GL6110 modems manufactured by the American company Sierra Wireless. At the same time, full backward compatibility with previously supplied models is maintained, which guarantees the protection of previously invested investments.

Functionality updates

In addition to the main one, the system implements an auxiliary algorithm for processing notifications based on priorities. Unlike the main mode, where the subscriber's priority determines the order of his calls within an alert attempt, the additional algorithm determines the order of calls within the entire session. Thus, the system will try to call the priority subscriber until the limit of permissible attempts is exhausted, and only then will it proceed to calling the subscriber with a lower priority. The auxiliary algorithm is interesting in situations where it is not the fact of notifying the maximum number of subscribers that is important, but the delivery of information to officials in the order of priority.

In addition to the automatic synthesis of voice messages in Russian, it became possible to announce in the Kazakh language in the voice of Asel produced by MDG. Localization of the interface and the ability to send SMS messages in the Kazakh language are currently not provided.

Rupor 1.5 has expanded the ability to configure parameters for interaction with GSM voice gateways from third-party manufacturers, taking into account the individual characteristics of their telephone interfaces.

2015: Release of “Mouthpiece II”

The transition of an alert to the “Notified by SMS” status now occurs only after receiving a “delivery report” from the telecom operator’s SMS center, which maintains confidence in the delivery of information to the subscriber.

If, after an SMS alert, the “delivery report” does not arrive from the SMS center of the telecom operator, you can restart the alert manually. Adjustment of the acceptable “delivery report” waiting time and the number of sending attempts are now included in the advanced settings.

The report form has been redesigned and visualization in the web interface has been improved. The report has expanded the list of intermediate statuses when notifying by phone and SMS for each subscriber, which allows you to monitor the progress of the notification with high detail. This release of Rupor II improves the performance and stability of the software, including in the mode of integration with third-party information systems, and supports work with the HASP SL Pro security key.

The "Rupor II" system is intended for contact centers, telecommunications, logistics companies and other organizations and allows for customer notification and emergency information in emergency situations around the clock.

“Rupor II”, thanks to built-in speech synthesis and recognition technologies, alerts subscribers in the format of a familiar telephone dialogue. It is also possible to send text messages - SMS or e-mail. The system allows you to simultaneously inform more than 100 subscribers via digital communication channels. This significantly reduces the time spent on notifications, which is important in emergency situations or when there is a large subscriber base.

The main advantages of the Rupor II system are a flexible notification scenario, the convenience of creating tasks based on pre-created templates, and round-the-clock operation taking into account time zones. The system provides information to subscribers at the permitted time, which allows for notification throughout the country.

In addition to notification, "Rupor II" allows you to survey subscribers without the participation of contact center operators.

“The system calls the contact base in a short period of time, making “cold” calls, and transfers only potential clients, that is, “warm” calls, to operators,” explains Mikhail Khitrov, CEO of the Center for Development. “The system has wide functionality, and its purpose may vary depending on the specifics of working with clients. That’s why we expect demand for Horn II in various types of organizations,” he adds.

Horn II provides individual information to subscribers via digital communication channels and is an automatic customer information system:

  • voice notification via digital communication channels
  • sending SMS messages and emails
  • integration with CRM systems
  • generation of personal messages.
