Phoenix does not see the phone what to do. USB-flashing "dead" Nokia phones via Phoenix software

So often we give our phones to special salons for flashing, and it costs a lot of money. But in fact, such a procedure is not only simple, but also does not take a lot of time, so you can safely, at home, flash your mobile phone. In this article, we will provide step-by-step information on how to flash a dead Nokia without the help of specialists.

Nokia model flashing process

To begin with, let's note a very important point, which consists in charging a mobile device. Ideally, the mobile phone should be fully charged, but a low charge option will work. Otherwise, flashing a dead Nokia is impossible.

We connect the phone in dead mode

  • Open the device manager on the computer. For those who are not aware of where the device manager is, let's designate the path: "My computer" right-click - "Properties" - "Hardware" - "Device Manager".
  • We pull out the sim card from the mobile phone and connect it to the computer using a cable.
  • Now on the phone, hold down the power button and hold it for about 2 seconds, after which, in the manager, two devices will appear. Then press the power button 3 times with an interval of about 15 seconds. That will allow these two devices to be installed, namely: Nokia USB flashing parent and Nokia USB flashing generic. They will disappear in a few seconds, so don't be alarmed, everything is going according to plan.

Let's note an important point, if any of the two presented devices is indicated by a yellow exclamation mark, this indicates an error in its installation. This happens when, before installing Phoenix, other drivers were not removed before installing these devices. So, if you have them on your computer, then you need to delete them before starting the procedure.

Connect Phoenix

  • First, the mobile phone must be connected to the computer.
  • Now you need to start Phoenix, and then select the "NO CONNECTION" mode.
  • Then, in the upper right corner of the program, click "File" and select "Open Product" from the list provided.
  • Now we have a list of Nokia phone models, select the one that is connected to your computer and click "OK".

Flashing a dead Nokia phone

Speaking about how to flash a dead Nokia phone, we note that none of the points presented in this article can be skipped, everything must be done according to plan, otherwise the phone will not be ready for the main flashing process.

  • Being still in the same Phoenix program, at the top we press the inscription "Flashing" and select "Firmware Update" from the list that opens.
  • Now a window has appeared, where the first line is indicated by the inscription "Product Code". Here you need to enter the firmware code by clicking on the square on the right, which will provide a list of codes. If you do not know which code is suitable for your model, then select the code, the name of which has the words "Cyrillic" or "RU", which will provide you with Russian. Then click "OK".
  • Now everything is in the same window, a little below the “Product Code” inscription, put a tick next to the “Dead Phone USB flashing” inscription and at the very bottom we press the line with the “Refurbish” signature.
  • A little higher, in the same window, a text will appear under the caption "Output", and only when the last sentence with the text "Press the phone" s power button appears, we immediately press the power button on the phone for about 2 seconds.
  • The phone flashing process has started. You will need to wait about 10 minutes. And if the firmware has finished successfully, then a message will appear on the computer with the following inscription: "Product flashing succeeded" and the phone will automatically turn on.
  • Disconnect the cable and close the Phoenix program.

As you can see, flashing dead Nokia phones is not only simple, but accessible to everyone. We wish you good luck with that!

Introduction
After reading the article, you can flash a non-included phone Nokia via Phoenix software in the so-called "DEAD MOD". This work is written in simple accessible language, therefore any owner of a Nokia phone can use it.

What do we necessary?

    1. Firmware for your phone. I recommend the latest version.
    2. Phone, USB cable, fully charged battery.
    3. Installed Phoenix program (you can on our forum). Its installation is written in the specified topic.
    4. Computer with Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7. XP is recommended.
    5. Nokia-related programs (Nokia Ovi suite, Nokia PC suite, Nokia Software Update, their various utilities, etc.) must not be running on the computer. Otherwise, problems that we do not need may arise.
So let's get started.

Main part
Turn off the phone, remove the battery, put it in place. For phones with a non-removable battery: turn off the phone, hold down the power button for 8 seconds (up to three vibrations). Note: we can find out about the installed drivers by looking at the installation / removal: Start -\u003e Control Panel -\u003e Add / Remove Programs... For phones without the USB charging function: insert the cable, shortly press the power button (for one to two seconds) on the phone, for phones with the USB charging function: just connect the cable with the phone off to the computer (no need to press anything), WINDOWS will find two new devices from Nokia (they will disappear after 3 seconds). Repeat this procedure two or three times with an interval of 5 seconds.

Install previously downloaded from our site latest version... "IMPORTANT": The phone without the USB charging function is connected to the computer, the phone with the USB charging function is disconnected from the computer! Run the program Phoenixby clicking on the shortcut on your desktop called "Phoenix". We are waiting for it to start. In the window that appears, open the " File"then" Open Product ".

In the window that appears, select " RM"our phone. RM can be recognized by removing the battery cover. Also, in fact, we find out the product code. I was stitching, which had" RM-588 ", therefore, I chose it.

After selecting RM, click "OK". Now go to the " Firmware Update ".

In the window that appears to the right of "Product Code", click "..."

A selection of product codes appears.

We choose the one that you like (since they are all with Russian). Personally, I left the one that I had. Then click "OK". In the new window, put a tick opposite Dead phone USB flashing and click "Options" ..

A window with our firmware files will appear. Below we will see a red file - you need to select and delete it (Select it, press "delete", confirm by clicking "Ok" and click "Ok" at the bottom) If there is no red file, do not delete anything.

After that we press "Refurbish", we will have a window with instructions from six points.

In this window, click "OK" and immediately: for phones without the USB charging function - briefly (1-2 seconds) press the power button on the phone, for phones with the USB charging function - just connect the cord with the phone turned off to the computer. ( When the phone is detected, the computer will emit a sound of connecting a new device) The firmware process should begin.

That's it, our device is stitched. Now it will turn itself on and we can disconnect it from the PC. In "Phoenix", before disconnecting, close all windows.

Note. Usually, it is not possible to flash the first time, various errors may appear in the log. This is normal. The main thing is not to give up and repeat the above process until the firmware is successful.

Council. If you have tried many times and still does not work, then you need to take out the battery and insert it back. Then repeat the firmware process again.

Good luck! Eliseev Alexey USB-flashing "dead" Nokia phones via Phoenix software

Having systematized the data, I created my own fact on the firmware of smartphones, which has been tested in practice, the bulk of smartphones are stitched on mini-firmware.
Smartphone firmware using Phoenix Service_Software.
As an example of firmware: Taken a phone based on symbian 9.1 Nokia N73-1
1. Remove the battery from the phone, look at what is written on the phone case, I have Type: RM-133, Code 0539279
Download and unpack the firmware for your phone.

Pay attention to the product code of the unpacked folder with firmware (seven-digit number), this should be on your phone, if the product of the phone code does not match the product code of the firmware, we change it using NSS, on new phones like 5800, using Jaf or on such phones it makes sense to download the full firmware.
If the product code is not indicated on the mini firmware, but the firmware has been downloaded from our site, go to this page here are the Russian product codes for phones, the product code of your phone must match the information on this page.
Make sure the battery is fully charged before flashing your phone. The phone is switched on, it is desirable to remove the memory card, the sim card is in the phone. Connect the usb cable that comes with the phone.

2. Install the Phoenix_Service_Software_2009_4_12_37934 program (installation is detailed in the program archive).

3. Create ini file

Create a text document, change its extension to ini, save, fill it, I used the lps manual on the page
Working sample ini file (insert your data, delete description)

We create an ini file for the N73me phone, firmware 4.0839.42.2.1, with product code 0539284
To do this, with the help of NSS, I changed the product code on the phone to 0539284, so the file 0539284.ini will be called.
Next, we look at the files of the unpacked firmware, namely:
N73_4.0839.42.2.1_western_C00_PRD_cc.fpsx
N73_rofx_4.0839.42.2.1_PRD.V05
N73_userarea_4.0839.42.2.1_U02
Click on 1 file with the right mouse, rename, copy. Find a working sample of the ini file, use the mouse to mark the description: rm244_2003436_prd.c00 (C00 or C0R is the name of the largest firmware file by weight), insert your data N73_4.0839.42.2.1_western_C00_PRD_cc.fpsx. We edit the inserted file, instead of N73 to rm133, we get rm133_4.0839.42.2.1_western_C00_PRD_cc.fpsx at the output and so on, with the rest of the files.
We get the finished file 0539284.ini.

4. Rename the folder in my case RM-133.

5. We drop the created ini file into the RM-133 folder.

6. Move the created folder to the address C: Program FilesNokiaPhoenixproducts

7. Open Phoenix

8. Press settings, select Add

9. Through the Driver tab, select the USB connection, click OK

13. Go to Options

If everything is done correctly, it will be reflected:

14. Sew on the Restore User Product button with saving user settings, on the Refurbish button with a full body format.

15. After a successful firmware, we get the message Product flashing succeeded.

I advise you to run on windows XP SP2, SP3. If the phoenix does not see the firmware, restarting the computer helps, with manual registration
(Image File: CProgram FilesNokiaPhoenixProductsRM-firmware number, PPM File: CProgram FilesNokiaPhoenixProductsRM-language firmware file). If the phoenix does not see the phone, setting up the phone in PC Suite cable mode helps. When these methods do not help, uninstall Nokia programs, remove Nokia drivers, install or uninstall programs on your computer, then manually delete Nokia folder at CProgram FilesNokia. The last, sure way is to install windows, with the C drive format. Can I install PC Suite or not?
If you need this program for various purposes after the firmware, then you can. As you can see from the fact, I used PC Suite, I installed Phoenix Service_Software after installing PC Suite, you can install the first Phoenix Service_Software, the second PC Suite, depending on which program has a newer driver, it is better to install a new one on the old one, with the replacement of drivers.
One more rule of firmware: You cannot lower the firmware number, you can sew on the same firmware number and increase the firmware number.
An example of firmware with the same number, shown in the fax, can be sewn with an increase in the number, for example, from 4.0839.42.0.1 to 4.0839.42.2.1.
Owners of N73me phones can use the fax for firmware 4.0839.42.2.1, for owners of other phones it will serve as an example of creating ini files for the following firmware.
If nothing works with the mini firmware, do not despair, download the full firmware, this is most often an EXE file, on which you just need to stupidly click a couple of times and start the installation process. There may be a problem - the installation path is not specified correctly, it should be the following C: Program FilesNokiaPhoenixproducts
Fak will help any user to flash the best program, learn how to properly flash your smartphone, save your time and money.
