Lenovo k 5 plus test results. Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus – Smartphone review with good design, mediocre battery and camera

Today we have a review of Lenovo K5 or there is another name - Lenovo A6020, which is a novelty of 2016, first shown at the NVC-2016 technology exhibition in Barcelona. Several more powerful modifications were also released, but we'll talk about them another time.

Smartphones of the Vibe line are always referred to as premium series devices, that is, flagships. But specifically Lenovo Vibe K5 is more of a budget phone.

The box is made of white cardboard with the image of a gadget on the front. In addition to the phone comes with:

  • quick start guide and warranty card;
  • charger for 5 Volts, 1.5 Amperes;
  • microUSB cable;
  • earbuds;
  • plastic tight case;
  • protective film.

Pretty rich equipment, which is not often seen.

Appearance

The body of Lenovo k5 is made of plastic, glass and metal. The manufacturer offers several colors: light gray, dark gray or graphite and gold.

The front of the phone looks standard. Above the screen is a speaker, a front camera with an extension of 5 megapixels, as well as light and proximity sensors. There is also a notification indicator, which is located in the upper right corner. It can change its color to green and red. Below the display are the standard navigation keys for the Android system. They are not backlit, but with reflective paint.

On the right side face there is an on-off button, as well as a volume rocker. The left side was left empty. On the bottom side there is a hole for a microphone. made of plastic. The upper end is made of plastic, which is not easy to do, but to improve the signal of the antennas. There is also a microUSB charging output, a standard 3.5 mm jack for connecting a headset or headphones.

The back cover is made of aluminum with plastic inserts. She is removable. The lid is not very pliable, but nevertheless it can be removed, which can be generally attributed to pluses. The main frame of the cover is made of aluminum, but the top and bottom strips are made to look like metal, although they are plastic.

Under the cover is a removable lithium-ion battery, two microSIM slots and a separate slot for a memory card. On the back cover is the main antenna, under it are several contacts from it.

There are two speakers on the bottom. One of the main features of Lenovo k5 is the presence of two stereo speakers. This, together with Dolby Atmos technology, allows you to get a fairly high-quality sound. True, you can fully appreciate the technology only in headphones. The sound is loud and voluminous.

In the upper part, there is a peephole of the main camera with an LED flash (its extension is 13 megapixels), and below it is a second microphone for noise reduction. In the middle is the Lenovo logo.

Dimensions:

  • Height - 142 mm;
  • Width - 71 mm;
  • Thickness - 8.2 mm:
  • Weight - 142 grams.

Lenovo K5 turned out to be a weighty smartphone because of its metal back cover.

The device is comfortable in the hand.

The phone is easy to operate with a finger of one hand. There is a coating on the back cover, but the smartphone still slides despite this.

Screen

In the arsenal of K5 there is a 5-inch display with an extension in HD 1280 by 720 pixels. This figure is very average today. The screen is made using IPS-matrix technology. Density - 204 pixels per inch.

Viewing angles are quite good and high quality. Fonts look smooth. It can be noted that the screen in this gadget turned out to be of high quality with a good margin of brightness.

Supports display up to 5 simultaneous touches. There is a light oleophobic coating on the surface. The finger glides well, but it is felt that the coating is weak, and it may rub off over time.

Processor, OS and autonomy

The technical characteristics of the device are as follows:

  • Quallcom Snapdragon 415 octa-core processor. Four Cortex A-53 cores operate at a maximum frequency of 1.4 GHz, two auxiliary ones can reach speeds of up to 1 GHz under low load. Although in the settings the processor is displayed as 615. This is due to the fact that they differ only in different operating frequencies. The original 615 runs at 1.7 GHz, as the 415 runs at 1.4 GHz.
  • Video accelerator Adreno 405.
  • RAM - 2 GB.
  • Built-in memory - 16 GB, where 11.6 GB will be available at the start. Memory cards up to 32 GB are supported.

But how does Lenova vibe K 5 behave in games? In heavy Asphalt 8, the picture is juicy, which does not particularly affect the smoothness of the process. The phone behaves more or less adequately. There are no brakes. But if we take, for example, football stimulants, then not the best results are obtained here. There is an fps drop. Tanks also go quite smoothly, but subject to lower settings.

The processor is controversial, for games - below average.

The device runs on the Android 5.1 operating system with a proprietary “shell” Lenovo Light UA on top of it.

Inside the gadget, a battery of only 2750 mAh is installed, which is enough for a normal working day when used in an average load mode. If you are going to load it with games, you will have to recharge it twice a day.

Camera

As mentioned earlier, the device has two cameras: the main one with 13 megapixels and the front one with 5 megapixels. Standard set.

The user has at his disposal:

  • Flashlight.
  • Autofocus and touch focus.
  • Support for HDR mode and a yard of others, which you can independently configure in the camera menu. From Auto and Motion to Night Shot to Night Portrait and Beach.

Including the owner can choose a professional mode, where he will adjust the ISO level, add contrast, saturation, sharpness or shutter speed.

The features of the front camera is that in the settings you can select a “mirror photo”, that is, the image will turn out exactly the same as you see it on the smartphone screen.

  • 4 to 3 mode;
  • Auto;
  • white balance;
  • Image quality;
  • Additional effects.

But despite this, the quality of the photo leaves much to be desired. The picture is a little "blurred", there is no clarity and too much "grain".

And when darkening, the photo, in general, does not reach the level that it should be.

Perhaps with subsequent firmware this issue will be partially resolved.

The maximum resolution for video recording is 1800p. The maximum duration is 30 minutes. There is an autofocus mode and electronic image stabilization.

Results and price

What do we get in the end for 7 thousand rubles? As always, there are pros and cons.

  1. Interesting design.
  2. Separate SIM cards and a memory card, that is, you do not need to choose anything.
  3. Quality screen.
  4. Loud stereo speakers.
  1. Not all games run normally, Lenovo's optimization is a little lame.
  2. Very "weak" battery.
  3. Price for this device.
  4. Cameras.

The Lenovo K5 is, in principle, a good smartphone that is suitable for most everyday tasks, but you should not expect more from it.

Video

A video review of the smartphone can be viewed below.

Despite the fact that Lenovo did not immediately take up smartphones, it is doing well. Let the smartphones released under this label lack stars from the sky, but they fully justify the funds invested in them. For example, Lenovo K5 plus, which we will now review, costs only about eight thousand rubles. For that kind of money, you can't count on anything extraordinarily extraordinary, and we won't do it. But the smartphone met all expectations and even did more than that - it surpassed them.

The device turned out to be quite pleasant both in terms of the technical part and in terms of appearance. True, Lenovo K5 and K5 Plus have one thing in common, namely, a weak battery. But there is nothing wrong with that, just a certain inconvenience appears associated with the constant need to carry a charger with you and be close to the outlet. In addition, buyers would be interested to find out what is the difference between other smartphones from the same line, and which one is the most profitable to buy.

When we go to the store to buy a new smartphone, we pay attention to its design and characteristics, and also watch a video review in Russian, if possible. So, in this model, quite good characteristics, given the low price:

  • The display is not the largest, only five inches. But this is more than enough to watch a video or find a contact number. In addition, the device is equipped with Full HD IPS Display;
  • As for the operating system, Android 5.1 is installed here;
  • The device is powered by an octa-core processor (64-bit and 1.7 GHz);
  • The RAM is 2 GB and the internal storage limit is 16 GB. To expand the capabilities of the device in memory, you must comply with restrictions up to 128 GB;
  • The phone is equipped with gravity, light and proximity sensors. In addition, it has an electronic compass;
  • You can install two SIM-cards;
  • Cameras: main 13 MP and front 5 MP;
  • Weight: 142 grams;
  • Battery capacity 2750 mAh.

A standard video review will allow you not only to find out these characteristics, but also to see how they will work on a particular device.

Differences between K5 and K5 Plus

These two smartphones were released almost simultaneously, they are very similar to each other and are included in almost the same price group. But there are also differences between them. And what they are, we will now try to find out.

As it turned out, these smartphones are practically no different. But there are two main factors that prove that there is still a small difference:

  • Display. On Lenovo VIBE K5 Plus, the performance is noticeably better, since it has a 5-inch IPS screen, 1920 x 1080 pixels, which allows it to work much better with the picture and display various colors. Whereas on the K5 only 1280 x 720 pixels are used, although the rest of the parameters are identical;
  • Processors. Another very important indicator that affects the quality of the device. The cheaper model has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 415 (64-bit, 8 cores) at 1.4 GHz, while the expensive one has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 (64-bit, 8 cores) at 1.5 GHz. The difference is barely noticeable, but it's there.

The rest of the indicators are absolutely identical, of course, if you do not take into account the prices. Here it is the main distinguishing feature for the buyer. Since the difference of $ 20 upon purchase hits the pocket a little, even if the amount is purely symbolic. So you can safely buy any of these models, and you will not lose.

Lenovo K5 Plus a6020 design

Like most smartphones from Lenovo, Lenovo K5 Plus (a6020), which we are reviewing, does not have a bright appearance. And in terms of filling, as you can see, this device does not shine. But for a “state employee”, a modest appearance and no less modest parameters are the norm.

The materials used to manufacture the device in question are universal and proven in practice. In particular, metal (aluminum) and plastic are used as side inserts. Included with the purchase is a transparent plastic case so that the device is not damaged.

By color scheme, available for sale:

  • White models;
  • Devices in the style of gold, that is, golden;
  • Black.

But there are problems with the black Lenovo a6020 vibe. The fact is that the device seems to be available on the official website, but it has not gone on sale in our country. Perhaps this is a temporary phenomenon, but so far there are no offers for those who want to order a phone in black.

In addition, due to its size, the device is not comfortable to hold in your hand. It can slip out. The slippery back panel contributes to this. Therefore, if you do not want to break your brand new phone, it is advisable to initially accustom yourself to use two hands when working with the device.

Software

The Lenovo VIBE K5 Plus uses an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor. The RAM is 2 GB, and the ROM is 16 GB. As for the wireless interfaces we are used to, the Lenovo VIBE K5 a6020a46 review shows that only NFC is missing. But that's okay, as a much more practical 4G network has emerged instead.

As for heating, which is the scourge of all budget devices, it is present, and quite strong. But the increase in temperature is felt during serious tasks, such as watching videos, playing games, etc. It happens. that the video "slows down" a little, but it depends on its quality and dimensions, and the phone gets very hot. As for telephone conversations and other standard manipulations, there is practically no heating.

In general, Lenovo 5, which we reviewed, is not unusual in the world of smartphones. This "state employee" has an unremarkable design and a rather weak filling. But keep in mind that this device is designed for simple tasks.

This article will be of interest to those who are concerned about purchasing a new smartphone from the middle price segment of the market. You are presented with a plus, characteristics, performance reviews and just the appearance of which is very good. We are sure that after reading it, you will definitely decide for yourself whether to take it or not.

Basic equipment

The device is sold and delivered in a small box made of hard and thick cardboard, on which the images of the smartphone itself and other markings are transferred with high quality. The lid, surprisingly, sits quite tightly, which gives hope that when transporting the phone, for example, by mail or delivery service, if you order the phone through an online store, your purchase will remain safe and sound.

After removing the cover, you will see the screen of your new gadget, dressed in a protective film. Additionally, the gadget has a so-called "Case" - a protective cover made of thin matte plastic on the back of the smartphone. This, of course, pleases, because, in addition to the phone, you get a bonus, albeit a simple one, but still a case that can protect your new pet from unpleasant scuffs and scratches. After removing the phone, you will find that it was located in a small "pallet" made of cardboard, which now, after removing the device, can be removed.

The pallet also serves as an envelope for documents, so don't rush to throw it away. On the “Lower Floor” of the box, you will find a protective film for the screen, a Micro-USB cable, a headset, moreover, with a built-in microphone and a one and a half amp USB adapter for connecting the phone to the mains.

Appearance

The first thing that catches your eye and the first thing you want to discuss is how the smartphone looks. Externally, the smartphone is not much different from similar models and is somewhat lost among its motley brethren. However, its appearance is not without grace in its simplicity. As far as we know, the smartphone is produced exclusively in white and golden colors, but there is definitely information that in the Indian market you can find a device in black. What is the reason for such a paucity of colorings and the inaccessibility of the black case specifically for the Russian / Ukrainian market - remains unknown.

Design

If we talk about the design solutions applied to this smartphone, then first of all we will mention the dimensions:

  • Length - 142 mm.
  • Width - 71 mm.
  • Thickness - 8.2 mm.
  • Weight - 150 grams.

As you can see, in terms of dimensions, the smartphone is practically not inferior to the same Samsung Galaxy j 7.

On the front side, there is a five-inch diagonal screen with Full HD resolution. At the bottom, at the base, there are three touch buttons for control, and at the top of the earpiece, front camera and proximity sensors, lighting.

On the right side of the case there are volume control buttons and on / off phone. On the top side, according to the standard, there are ports for charging and "Jack". At the back, familiar to everyone: a camera, a flash and two speakers at the base.

Food

Now let's analyze the technical characteristics of plus regarding power. Power is supplied by a 2750 milliamp/hour battery. Alas, this battery capacity is not quite enough. With not very active work, the charge is enough, at best, for a day. With active work, respectively, less.

Lenovo k5 plus dual: electronics specifications

In order not to talk about the fact that the phone is a fashion accessory, the most important thing is still under the cover. Nobody will argue with this. The Lenovo K5 plus, whose specs are modest compared to its more formidable brothers, has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor with eight cores, which, according to some reports, work in a 4x4 bundle. That is, 4 cores are more powerful, the main ones, 4 are auxiliary. In addition, the system uses the Adreno 405 video processor.

Lenovo vibe K5 plus a6020a46: memory specifications

Also important is the memory used by the phone for various needs. If we talk about the amount of memory built into this phone, then here Lenovo K5 plus does not show characteristics above a high level: 2 gigabytes of RAM, ensuring the speed of the system.

16 gigabytes of built-in storage memory, of which approximately 10.5-11 gigabytes are available. At the same time, it is possible to increase its number with a MicroSD card. Its maximum capacity should be no more than thirty-two gigabytes.

Audio and Camera Specifications

Now let's talk about the characteristics of the camera, as many people choose a phone for their own needs, referring to this particular component. So, the Lenovo vibe K5 plus phone has the following characteristics:

  1. Running a little ahead, the sound of this model is not the best, but for phones of this price category it is quite tolerable. As already mentioned, the Lenovo K5 plus, whose characteristics are very average, is not the best phone in the world, so you should not expect perfect sound from it. The two speakers on the rear panel provide you with a completely non-cutting sound, so you can listen to music or watch videos quite comfortably. The only serious complaint is the location of the speakers. They are built in such a way that when held vertically they overlap with the palm of your hand, and when held horizontally - with your fingers, which affects the sound quality. As for the earpieces, they work much better, but still, in comparison with more expensive models, the difference is noticeable. The same can be said about the headphones that come with the kit. They do not shine with quality, so music lovers will either have to endure cheap sound or buy good headphones separately. In general, the sound of this phone is at a level slightly below average, which is very, very good for its pricing policy.
  2. Now the most important thing for phone photographers. Lenovo K5 plus features of both cameras, main and front, are low, but for the money paid for this phone, it would be foolish to expect more. It sounds intimidating, but in reality we get 13 megapixels on the main camera and 5 on the front. Frankly, it’s not enough for a full-fledged camera, but in order to periodically take a couple of photos, not really caring about the ideal quality, it’s quite suitable.

Both cameras are unfortunately very sensitive to lighting. With uniform daylight, the footage can still claim to be good, but if you are shooting in the dark, and even worse, under bright artificial lighting, whether it be lamps in a dark room or street lights in a night city, be prepared for the footage to be blurry and color reproduction will be unnaturally white. Such is the peculiarity of this device.

Conclusion

Now you can add up your point of view regarding the presented phone in this article. Of course, this smartphone is good in its segment of budget smartphones, and he feels confident there, but the choice to buy it or not is yours. It all depends on your requirements for such a mobile device.

Today it's time for a more interesting option - Lenovo K5 plus. In the review, let's figure out how interesting the plus version came out compared to the regular one? Is it worth buying? Or is it better to pay attention to other Chinese companies?

The phone comes in a blue box with the model name. Inside, in addition to K 5 plus itself, lies:

  • Transparent case, which is a nice bonus that leaves a good impression of the company. Although the most simple, but still thanks.
  • Warranty cards and instructions in a separate envelope. The QuickStart Guide is multilingual, where most languages can be found. The limited warranty is only available in the countries listed on it.
  • The protective film is another bonus for this device.
  • MicroUSB cable for connecting to a computer and charging. Feels like a very high quality and fairly long cord.
  • A headset with a microphone that can be used for calls. Ordinary headphones, there is nothing remarkable about them. The sound quality is obtained thanks to them very budgetary.
  • USB adapter 5 volts, 1.5 amps.

As you can see, Lenovo has not been stingy to offer a full package of different goodies to its customers.

Appearance

As in the regular version of the K 5, here the main body is made of aluminum, but there are two plastic inserts at the top and bottom. The gadget lies well in the hand, but because of the metal back cover, it strives to jump out of the hand.

On the right side is the power button and volume control. There is nothing on the left side as the cover opens and the SIM tray is inside. On the back of the top there is a camera, flash and microphone. Below are two speakers and the Dolby logo. Let's talk a little about this technology, which makes the sound more voluminous and interesting.

Thanks to Dolby Atmos, you can customize the sound output depending on the file you want to play:

  • Movies;
  • Music;
  • Games;
  • Voice.

For example, in the "Music" mode, the sound becomes better and more interesting.

In headphones, the sound with Dolby Atmos changes significantly. It becomes more intense, interesting and enjoyable.

Dolby Atmos only has a positive effect on music. The smartphone produces a very good and high-quality sound. If you are a music lover, then you should definitely pay attention to this device.

At the bottom end there is only a microphone. At the top end there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a charging port. There are three touch keys on the bottom of the front, which, unfortunately, are not backlit. On top of the front side are the camera, speaker, and proximity and light sensors.

Dimensions:

  • Height - 142 mm;
  • Width - 71 mm;
  • Thickness - 8.2 mm;
  • Weight - 150 grams.

The weight has increased slightly compared to the standard version of the K 5, but not critical.

The cover of the phone is removable, but it sits very tightly, so you should not worry that it will accidentally fly off. Under it are two slots for MicroSIM cards, a slot for a MicroSD card (supports up to 32 GB), and a battery.

Screen

Lenovo k5 plus has a 5-inch IPS screen. Resolution 1920 by 1080 pixels, that is, Full HD. This is another change that has befallen the smartphone compared to the vanilla version of K5.

The bezels around the display are not very large, at least in the dark versions. If you take the white version, then such frames do not look very beautiful.

The screen turned out great - bright with good viewing angles. The margin of brightness is really at a high level.

Operating system and processor

Now let's see what technical characteristics the Lenovo k5 plus has acquired:

  • The Quallcom Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor, where four stronger cores operate at a frequency of 1.5 GHz, four weaker ones already at a frequency of 1.2 GHz.
  • Graphics accelerator Adreno 405.
  • 2 GB RAM.
  • Built-in memory of 16 GB. The user has almost 11 GB available, which is a bit small by today's standards, but can be expanded further up to 32 GB.

In GTA San Andreas, it works well on medium graphics settings, if you go to the maximum, then there is a jitter. But, most likely, these are optimization problems. You can play this heavy game, but you should expect lags and drawdowns even with a decrease in graphics quality. For a perfect game, you need to set the minimum settings. All other games on this device work great.

The smartphone runs on Android 5.1.1 operating system. There is a pretty nice Vibe UI - a proprietary shell from Lenovo. The shell works very fast, and at the same time has a number of chips. For example, the possibility of customization that changes the style of Vibe UI to familiar Android. The Chinese and European versions of the device have different firmware installed.

To keep the phone running, the manufacturer installed a 2700 mAh battery. Holds her smartphone very well, even higher than the average android device. With average use, the battery lasts for a day, with active use, for example, playing demanding games, for several hours.

Camera

The Lenovo K5 plus has two cameras: a 13MP main camera and a 5MP front camera.

Cameras are one of the advantages of this device.

When pressed with a finger, focusing is much faster and better than in a simple K5 model, and the quality of the pictures is an order of magnitude higher.

There is an HDR mode that allows you to get a brighter picture with less shadows. But when using this mode, it will be necessary to wait a little for the setting to take place. An example of a picture can be seen in the photo below.

On the street, the camera takes great pictures, as there is a lot of light. Texture detail is quite acceptable for this price segment. As soon as the light becomes less, then the quality of the pictures decreases.

Results

You need to understand right away that Lenovo K5 plus is not a flagship, because its price is on average 14 thousand rubles. It has strengths like a screen, Dolby technology and stuffing, as well as disadvantages in the form of a kind of call menu and small fonts.

The device turned out to be very interesting and definitely worth the money.

Video

The budget smartphone market over the past couple of years has become much more interesting than before. Chinese manufacturers are now managing to make devices several times cheaper than the flagships of A-brands, but with a very interesting design and quite sufficient performance. Of course, this also affects the competition in the segment. Users now want to get a device that is not just cheap, but also functional. Today in the review we will see if the Lenovo VIBE K5 Plus smartphone managed to compete with rivals at MWC 2016.

The smartphone is sold in the usual two-color packaging for Lenovo. The delivery set consists not only of the device, charger and earphones, but is supplemented with a protective film for the display and a transparent plastic slip case. Those who are very worried about the safety of their gadget will not have to spend extra money on these accessories. True, the cover is not perfectly fitted, but you should not demand more from the complete accessory of a budget smartphone. He will do his job.

The first impressions of getting to know the K5 Plus slightly spoiled the problems when setting it up. Restoring from a recent backup failed. Well, okay, it happens. But even when setting it up as a new device, there were minor problems: either the application download would freeze, or for some reason Wi-Fi would be turned off - in general, I managed to install and configure all the applications I needed only once from the third. Fortunately, there were no other surprises. Hopefully, this is only a problem with our test unit, and the next software updates will overcome these annoyances.

Design and Usability

Externally, VIBE K5 Plus does not stand out among most ordinary smartphones. The choice of the user is available in white and gold options for the design of the case. In India, for example, there is a black case, but there is no such option on the Ukrainian website of the company. A white sample came to our review (while only the front panel is white). The back cover is removable, it is made of aluminum, but there are plastic inserts on the top and bottom. The cover smoothly passes into the sides of the device, which are separated from the display by a shiny edging.

The size, materials and shape of the body are not very well combined, the smartphone is slippery and it is not always convenient to use it with one hand. Of course, it will fit in a large palm without such problems, but it will still remain slippery. The complete cover does not greatly affect slippage, but also slightly increases the dimensions. So before buying, you should definitely go to the store and spend some time with the device. In figures, the dimensions of the gadget look like this: 142 x 71 x 8.2 mm, the weight of the structure was 150 grams.

The case is collapsible, the back cover is completely removed for installing SIM cards and a memory card (you can install two operator cards in a smartphone and add microSD to separate slots, and not, as it is now fashionable, make the second slot combined, for one thing). Despite the removable “back”, there are no special problems in operation. Fasteners tightly hold the lid and do not emit extraneous sounds.

All controls are located on the right side, the left side is empty. At the bottom there is only a hole for a spoken microphone, a headphone jack and microUSB are placed on top. On the back, in addition to the main camera with a flash and an additional microphone, two main speakers were taken out. Above the display are earpiece, camera, proximity and light sensors; under the display are three touch buttons without backlight.

The smartphone looks, subjectively, not bad, but there is nothing special about its appearance. I didn’t like only two things: the speakers are located where they overlap with your fingers during games and watching videos, which, accordingly, leads to sound distortion; The location of the microUSB connector on top is not the best, it is inconvenient to use the device with the cable connected. Otherwise, if the dimensions of the case suit the user, then there should not be any global problems in use.

Display

The front panel of the smartphone has a 5-inch display with Full HD resolution. At the same time, the pixel density is 440 ppi - a remarkable number of dots for such a diagonal. IPS-matrix shows quite a nice picture. Viewing angles are good. There is a reading mode that applies a yellow filter to the screen. You can also manually adjust saturation and color temperature.

There is also a light sensor in the state employee, but its work leaves much to be desired. In the sun, the picture remains readable, but the protective glass is very glare. Oleophobic coating works as it should. There are no complaints about the accuracy of the sensor. Recognizes the display up to 5 simultaneous clicks.

Calibration is not ideal, but even in direct comparison with flagship devices, the picture does not disappoint - far from all top smartphones used to have such good screens. The only thing that the display lacked was the polarization layer. But you hardly expect to see this in an inexpensive device. In general, such a display will be enough for an unpretentious user. According to subjective feelings, the screen is very good for everyday use.

Sound

The company calls the sound one of the strongest aspects of the smartphone. On the back panel there are two speakers with support for Dolby Atmos technology. As expected, these are not the best speakers on the market, they are far from the level of HTC or Moto X Style, but they are clearly one of the strongest in their class. There is a lot of volume, the user can comfortably watch videos on YouTube, whether it is a video blog, a movie trailer or a music video. The only complaint is the location. The speakers are often covered with fingers during games and watching videos, and the vertical position is completely covered with a palm, and the sound is distorted.

Conversational speaker and microphone do their job well. The bundled headset is uncomfortable and sounds frankly cheap, but if you use good headphones, then the sound is enough. The signal, of course, is far from ideal, but for most users it will be enough.

cameras

There are interesting cameras in today's state employees, and the K5 Plus is no exception. The 13-megapixel sensor allows you to take pretty good pictures. Compared to flagship cameras, of course, the difference is significant, but in good daylight, the user will be able to get a satisfactory shot. It will probably take a few attempts, but you can get an acceptable shot. Video recording is at a maximum of 1080p, but the recording quality leaves much to be desired when the lighting is poor. Like all cameras, this one will need a lot of light, otherwise detail will drop and unwanted artifacts will appear. At night, when the street lights are on, the photos will be blurry and with a clear white balance miss.

The biggest problem is not even the quality of images in poor light, but the speed of work. The camera starts up for a relatively long time - you won’t be able to quickly get a smartphone out of your pocket and immediately take a normal picture. But the camera application is simple and intuitive. For lovers of built-in effects, the K5 Plus has this option.

The front camera has a 5 MP sensor. In fact, like the main camera, this one will need a lot of light, otherwise the picture will come out soapy. This effect is further enhanced by standard retouching tools. But it is worth mentioning that we are talking about a budget smartphone, and for its price, these cameras are quite good.

Hardware platform and software

The Lenovo VIBE K5 Plus is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor, Adreno 405 GPU, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB ROM, expandable with a memory card (up to 32 GB). Of the wireless interfaces, only NFC was not enough, but there is support for 4G networks. In tests, the results, quite predictably, are not record-breaking. The smartphone heats up when playing games within comfortable limits, and with simpler tasks, heating is practically not felt.

As I already wrote, at first the smartphone worked with errors, which negatively affected first impressions. Then things were better, but sometimes there were still small delays and twitching of the animation. Alas, there is no stable smooth operation of the interface and applications. When actively working with several tasks, when you need to quickly switch between different applications, this is especially felt. On the other hand, these problems do not appear often.

The gadget is running Android 5.1.1 with a proprietary Vibe UI interface. Externally, the launcher is unlikely to appeal to all smartphone users. It does not have any particularly useful features. Fortunately, using any other UI design option is not difficult. Subjectively, pure Android would fit here much better. Perhaps this would have a positive effect on the overall performance of the device. I really hope that such hitches in work are the problem of a test sample.

autonomy

The removable 2750 mAh battery is capable of getting through the day with a very active usage pattern - in other words, you can count on 4 hours of screen time. Of course, serious games or navigation will affect this figure. My smartphone could show 3.5-4.5 hours of a working display. A big bonus in this case is the ability to replace the battery, which is much more convenient than any power bank. So the user should not have critical problems with autonomy.
