Sony Xperia C - Specifications. Sony C2305 - model review, customer reviews and experts Sony xperia c smartphones

Sony Xperia C is the first smartphone from the company built on the MediaTek chipset, which offers a large screen, sufficient performance and support for two SIM-cards. This model was developed specifically for those users who want to get a modern smartphone model on Android with good functionality, a large screen, but at the same time, it did not cost much. Did the Japanese manage to create such a smartphone? I think yes, because the model immediately received recognition and interest from users. Now is waiting for you SonyXperiaC overview, in which we will consider all the possibilities of the model.

Design and dimensions

Despite its status as an inexpensive smartphone, its appearance is very good - the OmniBalance design is in its pure form, the phone does not look cheap and this should be learned from the Japanese by the closest competitors. The smartphone is made of plastic and assembled very well. The back cover is removable and does not have a flat surface, but with a slight bend. The model cannot be called small - 141.5 x 74.2 x 8.9 mm, with a weight of 153. The frames around the display are rather large, and the screen itself occupies 66% of the front panel. Above and below there are "grills" behind which the microphone and the speaker are hidden. There are sensors and a front-facing camera above the screen, under which there is a long LED indicator with a pleasant glow. At the back you will see the main speaker, camera lens with flash. A nice feature - there is a mechanical camera button. The Xperia C is available in three color options: white, black and purple.

Smartphone display

What would it be about Sony Xperia C C2305 review without mentioning his screen? A 5-inch TFT-matrix with a resolution of 960 × 540 pixels and a density of 220ppi is installed here. Of course, it is impossible to call the screen a reference, but nevertheless it behaves well in everyday life. Of course, the viewing angles are not the maximum, there is fading when viewing the display at an angle. The screen also lacks brightness a little, but I don't think you will notice. The screen itself is not covered with glass, but with plastic, so it's better to use a film.

User interface

The smartphone is preinstalled with the Android 4.2 system with the proprietary Xperia Home user interface, which is convenient and simple, not cluttered with unnecessary functions. The model has all the standard set of programs from Sony and additional useful utilities.

Hardware part

The heart of the smartphone is the MediaTek MT6589 chipset - a processor with 4 Cortex-A7 cores at 1.2 GHz and PowerVR SGX544 video. This is complemented by 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory for data storage, which can be expanded using microSD memory cards. By the way, thanks to the use of the solution from Mediatek, users can choose where to install applications - to the phone memory or to a memory card (). In performance tests, the Xperia C performs well for its segment and in many cases is comparable to the results of smartphones with Cortex-A9 cores. It is noteworthy that the video accelerator demonstrates excellent results at all, so there should be no problems with games. The interface also works smoothly and without brakes.

The battery in the Sony Xperia Ce has a capacity of 2390 mAh and this is more than enough for the smartphone to work on a single charge for a couple of days for sure. Adequate autonomy is facilitated by a good optimization of the chipset and software, as well as a low display resolution.

Again, we note that this is a Dual SIM smartphone, which means that you can use several cards from different operators at the same time - convenient for business people. One slot is for 3G.

Camera inSony Xperia C

The smartphone is equipped with two cameras. Front - VGA-camera (0.3 Megapixel) with the possibility of using an application for retouching and improving the quality, I think there is nothing more to add here. The main camera is 8 Megapixels with one LED flash, the camera application contains all the necessary options and capabilities, and it is worth noting that its interface is somewhat different from models with the Snapdragon chipset - there is no application button for the camera. In general, there is all the necessary functionality and modes to take a good shot.

As for the quality of photos, it is very, very decent for such a module! The color reproduction is realistic and pleasant, the white balance is correct in most cases, the clarity and detail are excellent - we can confidently say that most users will be absolutely satisfied with the camera and the quality of the photos.

As for video, the camera can record Full HD 1080p videos at up to 30fps. The quality of the video is also pleasing - all the details are visible, although it is possible that there is a little lack of stabilization and still you can applaud here too. Below is an example video:

Summing up

In the modern world, all kinds of high-tech devices are updated with amazing frequency. This trend is typical for the Japanese company Sony. In particular, a few months ago, another novelty from this manufacturer appeared on the domestic market. It was the C2305 smartphone. While not a very complicated device from a technical point of view, it fully meets the requirements of modern consumers and at the same time has a relatively low cost.

general description

For the production of the model, durable plastic is used. Only the on / off button and the camera rim are made of metal. The choice of the user is offered phones in black, white and purple colors, which has already become a characteristic feature of the line called Xperia C. The developers have covered the front panel with protective glass. On it there is a five-inch touchscreen display, microphone, speaker and the left side edge of the Sony C2305, the manufacturing company has equipped a convenient and also buttons for activating the camera and power. On the opposite side there is only a microUSB port. The lanyard hole is located on the bottom. The back of the device has a slightly concave shape. Here is the speaker, main camera and auto focus light.

In general, there are no unnecessary elements in the design of the novelty. The size of the model is 141.5x74.15 mm in height and width, respectively. At the same time, its thickness is equal to only 8.88 mm, which is a pretty good indicator that many users pay attention to.

Ergonomics

Stylish yet elegant appearance makes the Sony C2305 more attractive. Reviews from the owners of the device indicate that it is very comfortable in the hand. Moreover, thanks to the matte surface of the back cover and rounded corners, the phone does not slip out of your hands, even during a long conversation. Quite an interesting design decision, giving the device neatness and elegance, many users call the execution of the lateral edges made of glossy plastic. It should be noted that a new design is used for the model's case, thanks to which the back cover seems to be missing. Because of this, opening a smartphone is not so easy.

Connection

The C2305 phone supports work with two SIM cards, switching between them is convenient and quick. In addition, when talking on one of them, the second is automatically turned off. The device supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0, and navigation is carried out using the A-GPS system. As practice shows, reliable communication and fast exchange with paired devices occurs without interruptions in wireless technologies. The basic modification programs include the Google Talk application, with which you can send messages to the chat.

Display

As noted above, the model has a five-inch touchscreen monitor. Its resolution is 960x540. Such an indicator cannot be called impressive, so there can be no question of ideal image quality - small details and fonts do not look quite even. The additional second-generation Schott glass provides good protection of the device from various external influences. The sensor is capable of simultaneously recognizing up to five touches, and its sensors quickly respond to even light presses. Switching between applications, menu options, zooming and scrolling are smooth and responsive.

Camera

The rear-facing eight-megapixel camera is one of the main strengths of the Sony C2305. Its overview is quite extensive. At the same time, thanks to the use of the Exmor RS high sensitivity sensor, excellent image quality is ensured even in not the best lighting. The camera has a number of different settings and modes, which allows you to take photos with amazing detail, brightness, color reproduction and clarity. “Self-portrait” has become a rather interesting and unique function. Its essence lies in the fact that you just need to direct the camera lens at yourself, after which the device itself will take an excellent picture using voice prompts. Among other things, the focusing system can boast of the presence of several modes. A separate button on the body will allow you to photograph objects even in the locked state of the smartphone.

Performance

The Sony C2305 has a quad-core processor, each clocked at 1.2 GHz. In addition, a good operating speed of the device is provided by 1 GB of RAM. All programs, regardless of their size, start and run without delay. As for the stationary memory, its size is only 4 GB, but if necessary, you can install an additional microSD card. For web surfing, the device is just perfect.

Menu and control

Like many other modern modifications, the Sony C2305 smartphone operates on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. It should be noted that its interface has been quite successfully adapted specifically for this device. The user can adjust the screen settings independently. The menu opens access to the phone book, applications (standard and installed additionally), the list of messages, the Internet browser and, of course, the Google Play application. Touch control buttons for navigating between programs and returning to the home page are located at the bottom of the monitor. Information regarding the current state of the phone, including signal quality of networks, wireless communication, current time, battery charge, and message notifications, is displayed at the top.

Autonomy

The Sony C2305 is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery with a capacity of 2390 mAh. Taking into account the modest performance of the screen, which was discussed earlier, this volume is more than enough. A vivid confirmation of this can be called the fact that even with intensive use, the smartphone will be discharged only after a day. Moreover, the device has a special energy-saving mode, when activated, all unnecessary applications that consume a lot of energy are automatically turned off. This allows you to increase the operating time of the device two to three times. In continuous talk mode, a full charge of the battery will last for about 10 hours, while in standby - for 588 hours.

conclusions

To summarize, the main advantages and disadvantages of the Sony C2305 should be mentioned. Experts refer to the main advantages of the model as a stylish look, a unique body design, an eight megapixel camera, a processor and a slot for two SIM cards. As for the weak points of the device, it is a small display resolution and frequent glare on a glossy surface under bright lighting conditions. In general, for its price segment (in domestic stores, you need to pay about 10 thousand rubles for a phone), the device can be confidently called a pretty good choice. It is able to provide excellent communication quality and easily copes with a variety of tasks. Moreover, in spite of its relatively low cost, the phone is distinguished by rather powerful characteristics that meet the modern requirements for devices of this kind.

There is no camera, despite its pixels, the photo sucks, the old Nokia was better than taking a photo. I want to press a button and get a high-quality photo - in Sonya it is inconvenient to take pictures, it is incomprehensible whether I took it off or not, it takes a long time to focus. Even in the daytime, the photos are somehow fuzzy.

I bought Rostest, after 3 months of careful operation (I don't play games, I go to verified sites)) it crashed. And then the firmware flashed, I flashed it at my own expense because I needed a phone urgently. And there was no time to wait for the warranty for weeks. As a result, I flew to 1500 rubles upset. I no longer trust the reliability of SONY.

The back cover was deformed, gaps appeared, stickers on the sides peeled off. The battery has to be charged in two stages: from the beginning to about 67 percent and the charging is turned off, pulled out and inserted again, and only then up to 100. Earlier, after turning off and on, the icons disappeared, after updating the software, the icons stopped disappearing, now the wallpaper flies. The dialer for working with 2 SIM cards is inconvenient, I had to download a paid one. The memory is littered with a bunch of unnecessary programs that cannot be deleted. and the organization of work with memory is generally disgusting.

Japanese budget solution with a large screen and support for two SIM-cards on the MediaTek chipset

Recently, we tested the LG G Pro Lite Dual smartphone - a model of the mid-price range of the A-class manufacturer with a huge screen, and besides, it supports work with two SIM cards. Without going into details, let us recall that that device belonged to the category of so-called "budget shovels" - smartphones that are much less advanced in hardware (and, above all, in screen quality) than their top large-diagonal counterparts, but at the same time, they are also capable of providing the user the opportunity to enjoy the now fashionable screen size from 5 inches and above, and for much less money. Accordingly, the user, as usual, is given a choice: more expensive and of better quality - or cheaper, but simpler. We have already tested enough of such simplified tablet phones: Samsung has Mega with 5.8 and 6.3 inches screens, Huawei has Ascend Mate (6.1 inches), LG has G Pro Lite Dual (5.5 inches), and now it's Sony's turn. The Japanese came out with a very similar model Xperia C, it costs about the same, so there will be something to compare it with.

Appearance and usability

Externally, the Sony Xperia C smartphone should appeal to many: the non-slip, non-marking, matte and rough body continues the traditions of last year, laid down in the Sony Xperia Z and Xperia ZL models. More simplified in relation to the flagship Xperia ZL at that time, it incorporated part of that design concept with flat mirrored panels-inserts on all four sides, which the creators called OmniBalance. In turn, the even simpler Sony Xperia C as a whole has now retained the shape and general appearance of the same Xperia ZL, but the panels on its sidewalls are no longer mirrored, but matte - such as those of the updated flagship Xperia Z1. But in general outlines, in the shape of the "blown" back cover, the heroine of today's review resembles exactly that very Xperia ZL. True, the back cover materials were slightly different: it was plastic with a rubberized soft-touch effect, and even the surface was textured with pimples. Here the surface, although matte, is without texture, and besides, it is hard - it does not have a soft-touch effect.

The smartphone is quite large in size, which is partly explained by the large screen diagonal. However, the side frames are not too narrow here, so the smartphone could well be smaller and sleeker. There are no special complaints about the thickness of the case; it is quite convenient and comfortable to hold the device in the hand. The mass also does not burden the hand too much - thanks to the rough surfaces, the smartphone as a whole is quite securely held in the fingers, as far as possible for such large gadgets. If we compare it with the same LG G Pro Lite Dual, then it turns out the opposite: the device of Koreans has a very slippery smooth lacquered coating, sloping edges and a hefty mass, so the smartphone is ready to slip out of hands at any moment. The Japanese model has less weight, less thickness, a rough coating, and even sharper edges allow fingers to catch, so that the phone will not fall out of hands at a difficult moment - it holds securely.

The materials of manufacture, as already mentioned, are solid plastic, there is practically no metal here, with the exception of the camera rim and the round power button. The structure of the case itself is unusual: here all this plastic "fur coat" is entirely put on the frame, closely adjoining the screen itself, completely covering everything along with the sidewalls. That is, if you remove the plastic cover, you will be left with a bare, unsightly skeleton with a screen - even the side buttons all remain on this removable cover, something similar we saw in the Sony Xperia Go. It is quite difficult for one to guess how exactly this casing is removed - the structure of the case is not familiar, slots, gaps are not visible, just like the slightest ledge for engaging with a fingernail is not visible anywhere. In general, you cannot do without reading the instructions, which describe the disassembly process in detail.

Otherwise, there is nothing remarkable about the Sony Xperia C case: the power and volume keys are in their places on the right, in a very close proximity to each other; the audio-out jack (3.5 mm) is cut into the upper end, Micro-USB - in the side, and at the bottom there is also a hole for attaching a lanyard to the hand - an invariable part of the image of almost any Sony smartphone. There is also a separate hardware mechanical button on the right side, which is responsible for working with the camera. From the locked state, the button is not able to wake up the camera, so you will first have to unlock the device in the usual way, and then use this button for its intended purpose. If the screen is active, then the button can call the camera, and take a picture immediately - this is all regulated by the settings.

All mechanical buttons on the sides are very thin, not too rigid, but still, due to the short travel and small area of the keys themselves, they are not the most comfortable. The Korean Samsung and LG, at least, their large and wide buttons are definitely more convenient and tactilely more pleasant.

Sony hasn't made hardware buttons under the screen, even touch buttons, in its devices for a long time - they all moved to the screen in the form of Android 4.x software icons. So there is less space left under the screen than usual, but it will still be at least a centimeter in height. This place is not empty: not only is there a neat grille for the microphone, but there is also a proprietary Sony indicator light extended horizontally. The indicator, as usual, can adjust to the general background of the photo being viewed, the cover of a music album, changing its color, and also signaling various events from the charging process to an incoming SMS message.

Above there is exactly the same speaker grille as below - they are symmetrical, and the eyes of the sensors and the front camera are visible next to it. The glass of the display is absolutely flat, without sides, the oleophobic coating here, if there is, is rather weak - prints are quickly collected and are not easily erased.

The landscape of the back cover is made up of several familiar elements: the window of the main camera, framed by a metal round rim, next to it you can see the peephole of a single-section LED flash, and below is a grill for sound output from the ringing speaker. The grille is partially curved, so the sound is almost not muffled by the surface on which the smartphone is resting. The rear surface here, by the way, is not completely flat, but slightly concave inward - this still shows echoes of the legendary Sony Arc design.

If you remove the back cover (and it is rather difficult to do it at first), then under it you will find a familiar already modern picture: the battery is securely closed with a casing and is not accessible to the user. Above it, three slots were placed in one plane: two for SIM-cards, and one for a microSD memory card. SIM-cards are used here in Micro-SIM format, all cards are inserted and removed quite easily. By the way, unlike LG G Pro Lite Dual, hot swapping is supported here, that is, the smartphone does not need to be rebooted when replacing cards. There is another more noticeable difference: the Micro-USB connector here, unlike the LG device, supports the mode of connecting external devices (OTG), such as a flash drive, or a mouse with a keyboard. Accordingly, the device is able to view films, music, photographs and various documents directly from a USB flash drive connected to it, you just need to attend to the purchase of an adapter.

And about the colors: the Sony Xperia C smartphone, following a tradition rooted in last year, is again available in three familiar colors - black, white and purple. All three have the same rough, hard, non-gloss finish, with the dark front panels being black and the light ones the same white as the rear casing. Regarding such an unusual choice in favor of purple, the developers say that this color was not chosen at all "from the ceiling." According to experts, there is a psychological background here: this color is, as it were, "balanced", that is, it is obtained by "mixing" exciting red and cold blue shades.

Screen

The Sony Xperia C smartphone is equipped with a touchscreen IPS-matrix measuring 62 × 110 mm, a diagonal of 127 mm (5 inches), a resolution of 960 × 540 pixels. Note that Sony representatives stated that the smartphone uses a TN-type matrix, but our tests have denied this. Such a parameter as the density of pixels per inch is only 220 ppi here, which is more than the LG G Pro Lite Dual (200 ppi), but still not enough for modern screens. Both smartphones have a very low resolution for such a large screen area, and lose in this to competitors with 720p resolution. Accordingly, here the picture is quite friable, the pixels are visible to the naked eye, the edges of small details and fonts do not always look even.

The side bezels from the edge of the screen to the edge of the case are at least 6 mm thick - quite wide bezels. The brightness of the display can be adjusted manually, and unlike the LG G Pro Lite Dual, here you can enable automatic adjustment - the corresponding checkbox is in place. The multitouch technology here allows you to simultaneously process up to 5 simultaneous touches (the Korean model has 10 of them). The smartphone also has a proximity sensor that locks the screen when you bring the smartphone to your ear.

Alexey Kudryavtsev, editor of the “Monitors” and “Projectors and TV” sections, carried out a detailed examination using measuring instruments. Here is his expert opinion on the screen of the test sample.

The front surface of the screen is made in the form of a glass plate with a mirror-smooth surface, resistant to scratches. Judging by the reflection of objects, there is some kind of antiglare filter, which in terms of reducing the brightness of the reflection is noticeably worse than that of the Google Nexus 7 (2013). The surface of the matrix itself under the glass is slightly dull, so the screen reflects both direct light sources (external surface) and scattered light (matrix surface), this reduces readability in conditions of strong external light. For clarity, we present photographs in which a white surface is reflected in the turned off screens of three devices (on the left - Nexus 7, on the right - Oppo Find Muse R821, in the center - Sony Xperia C, then they can be distinguished by their size):

The light gray surface of the Sony Xperia C screen speaks for itself. The reflection in the screen doubles, which suggests the presence of an air gap between the surface of the matrix and the outer glass. On the outer surface of the screen, apparently, there is a special oleophobic (grease-repellent) coating (ineffective, much worse than in the Nexus 7), so fingerprints are removed a little easier, and appear at a slower rate than in the case of ordinary glass.

With manual brightness control, its maximum value was about 440 cd / m², and the minimum was 40 cd / m². The maximum value is quite high, but given the weak anti-glare properties and the matte surface of the matrix, in bright daylight the image on the screen is unlikely to be clearly distinguishable. In complete darkness, the brightness can be lowered to a comfortable level. Automatic brightness control works according to the light sensor (it is located to the right of the front camera peephole). In automatic mode, when the ambient light conditions change, the screen brightness both increases and decreases. In complete darkness in automatic mode, the brightness is reduced to 60 cd / m2 (it could have been lower), in an office illuminated with artificial light (about 400 lux), the brightness is set to 205-250 cd / m2 (acceptable), in a brightly lit environment (corresponds to outdoor lighting on a clear day, but without direct sunlight - 20,000 lux or slightly more) - rises to the maximum (which is to be expected). As a result, this function works adequately. There is some modulation of the backlight, but its amplitude does not reach 100%, and the spectrum of modulation frequencies has a maximum in the region of 40 kHz, so it is impossible to visually see the screen flickering and the presence of such modulation can in no way affect the comfort of working with this device.

This screen uses an IPS type matrix. On micrographs, if desired, you can see the structure of subpixels typical for IPS in the form of parallel stripes:

At the same time, we present one more micrograph with a lower resolution and with focus on the film covering the matrix:

Visible dots are artificially created surface defects that create a matte finish. The screen has good viewing angles without inverting tints and without significant color shift, even with large (within reasonable limits) gaze deviations from the perpendicular to the screen. For comparison, we present photographs in which the same images are displayed on the screens of the same three devices, while the brightness of the screens is set to about 200 cd / m². Test picture perpendicular to the screens:

It can be seen that the color rendition is slightly different, but this is the only reasonable conclusion that can be drawn from the photograph. And white box:

Note the good uniformity of brightness and color tone. Now at an angle of approximately 45 degrees to the plane and to the side of the screen:

It can be seen that the color tone of the two smaller screens, including the Sony Xperia C, has changed noticeably. Then a white box:

The brightness at an angle on all screens has decreased (at least 4 times, based on the difference in exposure), but in the case of the Sony Xperia C, the brightness drop is greater than that of the Nexus 7. The black field, when deviated along the diagonal, lightens strongly and becomes purple or red. purple tint. The photos below show this (the brightness of the white areas in the perpendicular direction is the same for the screens!):

And from a different angle:

When viewed from a perpendicular view, the uniformity of the black field is average, since there are several areas with increased black brightness along the edge of the screen:

Contrast (approximately in the center of the screen) is normal - about 730: 1. The gamma curve plotted at 32 points did not reveal any blockage in highlights or shadows, and the exponent of the approximating power function is 2.14, which is close to the standard value of 2.2, while the real gamma curve deviates little from the power dependence:

The color gamut is close to sRGB:

Apparently, the matrix light filters slightly mix the components together. The spectra confirm this:

As a result, the colors visually have a natural saturation. The balance of shades on the gray scale is good, as the color temperature is not much higher than the standard 6500 K, and the deviation from the black body spectrum (ΔE) is less than 10, which is considered a good indicator for a consumer device. At the same time, the color temperature and ΔE vary little from shade to shade, which has a positive effect on the visual assessment of the color balance. (The dark areas of the gray scale can be ignored, since the color balance there is not very important, and the error in measuring the color characteristics at low brightness is large.)

The screen has a fairly high maximum brightness, but the comfort of using on a clear day outdoors is questionable, since the screen has weak anti-glare properties and a matte matrix surface under the outer glass. In total darkness, the brightness can be lowered to a comfortable level, although from the point of view of energy saving, the minimum brightness is still high. It is also permissible to use a mode with automatic brightness adjustment, which works more or less adequately. The advantages of the screen include the absence of flicker, coverage close to sRGB and good color balance. Further disadvantages: weak oleophobic coating, low stability of black to deviation of the gaze from the perpendicular to the plane of the screen and the average uniformity of the black field. In terms of its characteristics, the screen is not of high quality - it is a budget option on an IPS matrix.

Sound

In terms of sound, the smartphone is average. The speakers produce a fairly clear, but not very loud sound, especially the sound in the headphones. The stock audio player, traditionally called Walkman, is rich in settings and additional software sound enhancements, such as a built-in equalizer with a mass of preset values (you can set your own), Clear Phase technologies, xLoud or virtual surround sound. Management of most of the settings is available if the complex ClearAudio + function is turned off, otherwise all settings are at the mercy of the machine. In this case, this is especially important, since when you use the complex ClearAudio + package of improvements, the sound of the external speaker becomes noticeably louder and richer. However, during a telephone conversation, the voice of a familiar interlocutor, timbre and intonation always remain recognizable, the conversation is quite comfortable.

There is an FM radio in the standard configuration of the smartphone, and a dictaphone was also found. The radio works only with connected headphones, which act as an antenna. The dictaphone does not know how to record a conversation from the line by regular means. You can find it not in the list of installed applications, but in the so-called small applications menu, which can be called up at any time by pressing the far right on-screen button.

The main rear camera is equipped with an 8-megapixel Exmor R module. By default, the camera shoots in normal mode, at which the resolution is set to 8 megapixels, the images are obtained with a resolution of 3264 × 2448.

Examples of photos with our comments are presented below.

Foreground sharpness is good. Sharping is visible on the wires.

Decent sharpness in almost all shots and across the entire frame.

The tiles are already merging in the foreground.

Sharpness even in the foregrounds is weak, towards the distant ones it falls even more.

The boundaries of objects are severely damaged by noise.

The text is well done and only slightly damaged.

The camera is budgetary in almost all respects. Sharpness is very weak. The noises are quite strong, and although the noise reduction copes with them well, as a result of processing, details are damaged.

The camera shoots at fairly high sensitivity values, while shutter speeds of 1/25 second and more are already long for it. In good lighting, the camera sometimes succeeds in good pictures, but at 8 megapixels they still do not pull: blurry details, frequent areas of blur, the appearance of which is due to a lack of resolution - all this most likely indicates the unsatisfactory quality of the optics and its insufficient resolution.

Perhaps the camera is suitable for capturing documents. Probably, under certain conditions, you can get satisfactory results from ordinary shooting, but you definitely should not count on this.

The camera can shoot video in the maximum resolution of 1920 × 1080, it does it without visible delays or artifacts in the image, there are several resolutions to choose from up to a maximum of 1080p (for LG G Pro Lite Dual - 720p). At the same time, during video shooting, you can also take photos, both on the main camera module and on the front one. Examples of test clips are presented below (video: MPEG4 Video 1920 × 1080 30 fps 20102 Kbps; audio: AAC 48 kHz stereo 128 Kbps).

  • Movie # 1 (29.6 MB, 1920 × 1080)
  • Movie # 2 (25.0 MB, 1920 × 1080)

Telephone part and communications

The smartphone works as standard in modern 2G GSM and 3G WCDMA networks; there is no support for fourth generation (LTE) networks. The 5 GHz Wi-Fi range is not supported, and there is no support for NFC technology either. As a standard, you can organize a wireless point via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth channels, there is a Wi-Fi Direct mode. The navigation module supports GPS / A-GPS.

No freezes or spontaneous reboots / shutdowns were observed during testing. When brought to your ear, the screen is blocked by a proximity sensor. The light sensor automatically monitors the brightness level of the screen. The traditional Sony longitudinal horizontal LED sensor for notification of incoming events is provided in the lower part under the screen.

The screen is large, so drawing letters and numbers of virtual keyboards is quite comfortable to operate. The layout and arrangement of the keys are standard: here you can switch languages by pressing a special button, there is no separate top row with numbers here, you need to switch layouts. There is a possibility of continuous writing by sliding your finger across the screen from button to button.

Two SIM-cards are supported here, the form-factor of the cards is Mcro-SIM. The physical implementation of working with two SIM cards is generally standard for this platform. There is only one radio module, so there can be only one active conversation, the second card becomes unavailable. In the settings, you can set priorities separately for calls and for data transfer by default for certain SIM cards. You just need to remember that in terms of data transmission, the slots are not equivalent: 3G can be implemented only by one of the slots, the second is limited to GPRS / EDGE. By the way, this is easy to check: it is enough to free both slots and push one card from slot to slot. Sony Xperia C supports hot swapping, so the smartphone instantly displays the corresponding index: in the first slot "H" (HSPA), in the second, the same SIM card will show only "E" (EDGE). Thus, for users who like to save for the sake of using two different tariffs for calls and data transmission, it would be best to insert a card into the first slot for working with the Internet, and in the second - for voice communication.

The menu also contains additional settings for automatic switching of card priorities in time, as well as quick organization of forwarding from one card to another, which is convenient. But some users do not like the fact that everything is automated here from the very beginning, so during the conversation you will not be asked to choose, as it happens on other phones, which card to call from: voice communication is set up via card number 1, which means that when dialing a number, everything you will make calls from it automatically.

OS and software

Sony Xperia C is currently running on Google Android software platform version 4.2.2. On top of the standard OS interface, the company has installed its own user interface, which significantly modifies and complements the standard one. The main distinguishing feature of the program menu is the wide range of possibilities for sorting, selecting and working with icons of installed applications. Here you can even set your own, arbitrary location, or sort in several preset ways. The ability to create folders is supported.

In terms of pre-installed applications, the Sony Xperia C is almost the same as other modern Sony devices. The set of pre-installed programs in the smartphones of the Japanese company does not change too noticeably from tube to tube. Several online services, such as TrackID, Movies, PlayNow, offer you to choose, buy and play music, movies and games right away. Timescape collects information about the social activity of friends. There is a preinstalled file manager, a QR code scanner and the popular note-taking program Evernote. Sony always comes with a useful program for a full backup and restore of both settings and other data.

Performance

The hardware platform of the Sony Xperia C is based on the MediaTek MT6589 SoC. The central processor here has 4 Cortex-A7 cores, operating at a frequency of 1.2 GHz. It is assisted in graphics processing by the PowerVR SGX 544 video processor. The device provides 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of internal memory, and of which only about 1.2 GB of free flash array is actually available to the user, the rest is occupied by the system itself and pre-installed applications ... The smartphone supports memory cards up to 32 GB (but our SanDisk Ultra MicroSD XC I 64 GB test card was confidently recognized, this is displayed in the screenshots). There is also the ability to connect external devices (USB Host, USB OTG) to the USB port - a flash drive, mouse or keyboard, this is another positive difference from LG G Pro Lite Dual, which does not have OTG support.

To get an idea of the performance of the tested smartphone platform, let's run a standard set of tests.

All the results obtained by us when testing the smartphone in the most recent versions of popular benchmarks, we have summarized in tables for convenience. Several other devices from various segments are usually added to the table, also tested on similar latest versions of benchmarks (this is done only for a visual assessment of the obtained dry numbers). Unfortunately, within the framework of one comparison, it is impossible to present the results from different versions of benchmarks, so many worthy and relevant models remain behind the scenes - due to the fact that they once passed their "obstacle courses" on previous versions of test programs.

Based on the results of the data obtained during testing, the Sony Xperia C system with a quad-core processor, which is part of the MediaTek MT6589 SoC, demonstrated an average performance level, far from the most productive modern solutions, but also much higher than that of the LG G Pro Lite Dual, based on on an even more modest in capabilities dual-core platform MediaTek MT6577.

Video playback

To test the "omnivorous" video playback (including support for various codecs, containers and special features, such as subtitles), we used the most common formats that make up the bulk of the content available on the Web. Note that it is important for mobile devices to have support for hardware video decoding at the chip level, since it is often impossible to process modern versions using processor cores alone. Also, do not expect a mobile device to decode everything, since the leadership in flexibility belongs to the PC, and no one is going to challenge it. All results are summarized in a single table.

Format Container, video, sound MX Video Player Native video player
DVDRip AVI, XviD 720 × 400 2200 Kbps, MP3 + AC3 reproduced normally reproduced normally
Web-DL SD AVI, XviD 720 × 400 1400 Kbps, MP3 + AC3 reproduced normally reproduced normally
Web-DL HD MKV, H.264 1280 × 720 3000Kbps, AC3 Hardware +
BDRip 720p MKV, H.264 1280 × 720 4000 Kbps, AC3 plays fine with decoder Hardware + video plays fine, no sound¹
BDRip 1080p MKV, H.264 1920 × 1080 8000Kbps, AC3 plays fine with decoder Hardware + video plays fine, no sound¹

¹ the audio in MX Video Player was only played after switching to software decoding or Hardware +; the standard player does not have such a setting

We did not find the MHL interface, like Mobility DisplayPort, in this smartphone, so we had to limit ourselves to testing the output of video files on the screen of the device itself. To do this, we used a set of test files with an arrow and a rectangle moving one division per frame (see "Testing techniques for video playback and display devices. Version 1 (for mobile devices)"). Screenshots with a shutter speed of 1 s helped to determine the nature of the frame output of video files with different parameters: the resolution varied (1280 by 720 (720p) and 1920 by 1080 (1080p)) and the frame rate (24, 25, 30, 50 and 60 fps ). In our tests, we used the MX Player video player in the Hardware mode, as there were a lot of artifacts in the Hardware + mode. The test results are summarized in the table:

720 / 30p OK No 720 / 25p OK No 720 / 24p OK No

Note: If both columns Uniformity and Skips green ratings are set, this means that, most likely, when watching movies, artifacts caused by uneven alternation and skipping of frames will either not be visible at all, or their number and visibility will not affect the viewing comfort. Red marks indicate possible problems with the playback of the respective files.

The intervals between frames (or groups of frames) alternate slightly unevenly and in the case of files with 50 and 60 fps, some of the frames are always skipped. When playing video files with an aspect ratio of 16: 9, the image of the video file itself is displayed exactly on the edge of the screen. The brightness range displayed on the screen corresponds to the extended range (that is, the range 0-255), while most video files are encoded in the video brightness range of 16-235, so the white color of such video files on the screen of this smartphone appears as light-light gray, and black is like dark dark gray, which clearly does not improve image quality.

Battery life

The capacity of the lithium-ion battery installed in the Sony Xperia C is not the highest, but it is quite worthy by modern standards at 2390 mAh. Accordingly, the results of testing the battery life of the device in the most common user scenarios turned out to be quite good.

Battery capacity Reading mode Video mode 3D Game Mode
Sony Xperia C 2390 mAh 18h 05m 12h 30m 8h 00m
LG G Pro Lite Dual 3140 mAh 14h 15m 8h 40m 6h 50m
Highscreen Alpha GTX 3000 mAh 14h 15m 11h 05m 6h 50m
Huawei Ascend Mate 4050 mAh 18h 05m 11h 35m 5h 00m
Alcatel OT Idol X 2000 mAh 10h 00m 6h 40m 4h 00m
Oppo Mirror R819 2000 mAh 10h 20m 8h 20m 5h 00m

Continuous reading in the FBReader program (with a standard, light theme) at the minimum comfortable brightness level (the brightness was set to 100 cd / m2) lasted 18 hours until the battery was fully discharged, and when continuously watching YouTube videos in high quality (HQ) With the same brightness level through the home Wi-Fi network, the device lasted about 12.5 hours - excellent performance. In 3D gaming mode, the smartphone lasted for 8 hours.

Outcome

At the moment, the official cost of the Sony Xperia C is set in our market at around 12 thousand rubles. For the same or even a little more money, the competing model LG G Pro Lite Dual is now being offered. Based on the results of acquaintance with these devices, it turned out that in many respects the Japanese model turned out to be objectively preferable to the Korean one, in which they saved almost everything, down to the innermost - they inserted a completely outdated and weak SoC.

But if you do not get attached to the most famous brands, now for a similar amount you can buy devices that are much more advanced in all technical characteristics, such as the flagship five-inch Alcatel OT Idol X or Fly Luminor IQ453. From them, for the same 12 thousand rubles, the user will receive not only more powerful and efficient SoCs, but also much better screens with Full HD resolution.

pros:

  • support for two SIM-cards
  • support for memory cards
  • good battery life
  • practical case
  • large screen diagonal

Minuses:

  • non-removable battery
  • low display resolution
  • relatively high price

21.02.2014

I want to say thank you to the respected editors of Helpix and express my special gratitude to Georgy Kiselev for taking the time to check my "careless" attempts to write a review !!! For the chance that others do not give ...

How long have you had this device?

About a month.

Do you use it until now? If not, why did you break up with him?

I use it and will continue to use it until the battery runs out of service.

How did you get this device? What were the criteria for the selection? Where and how much was purchased?

I did not consider buying a new phone, since I was completely satisfied with my old, faithful SonyEricsson Hazel push-button slider as my main phone and really Die Hard! It is almost 3 years old, the battery lasts up to 3 days, there is not a single scratch on the screen, it looks like new, except for the back cover. She pasted over with carbon.

Once I went to the MTS communications salon just to look and "twist" in my hands the advertised Nokia Lumia 1020 with a 41 megapixel camera. The camera, of course, is super. Naturally, I drew attention to the Sony line, as I was convinced by my own experience of the quality of Sony Ericsson. Smartphone Sony Xperia C 2305 immediately caught my attention with its looks and price. Since the previous phone is a push-button slider, I did not have experience with a smartphone, and even with a touch screen, so that they would not laugh at me (it was 2014), I completely entrusted the demonstration of the phone to the salon consultant. And "the fish got hooked." I immediately liked everything about this smartphone. Therefore, after leaving the salon, I rushed home faster, where my husband and I went to the site to read reviews about this smartphone. Based on the selection criteria, we could not compare this model with a similar one in quality, functionality and price. All I needed was in this smartphone:

1. Capacious battery. The phone will be actively used in terms of calls, internet, e-mail, cameras.
2. Support for 2 SIM cards. Tired of using two phones.
3. Ability to view letters and documents from e-mail.
4. Good camera. Mainly for shooting documents, price tags.
5. High-quality sound of the speaker. I love music very much.
6. Ability to record a telephone conversation during a conversation. Since I spend most of my time on the road, driving, when receiving orders from customers, I record their requests on a dictaphone (of course, warning about the recording of a conversation). It is very convenient, you do not have to constantly stop and write down orders in a notebook, and upon arrival at the office, I simply rewrite the orders or send them via MMS to the office manager for processing. It was possible in my old SonyEricsson Hazel phone, but my husband in the HTC Explorer smartphone does not. For recording, he downloaded an application that works only with speakerphone, which is not very convenient.

Two days later, having donated to the family budget, I became the owner of a white Sony Xperia C 2305 smartphone, bought in an MTS communications store for 11,990 rubles.

What do you like? Strengths, dignity.

  • Appearance

Very nice design and impeccable build quality. My chosen one is white, the body is made of plastic. The back cover is pearlescent.

On the sides along the entire perimeter there are metal inserts-plates. Convenient location of the power / lock, volume and camera buttons, as well as connectors (power / sync on the left, for the headset on top). Connectors, however, without plugs.

I want to note right away that the phone fits perfectly in my female hand, and I successfully reach with one hand to all the keys, buttons and touch buttons on the screen. Previously, touchscreen phones scared me, but now that I got one, I felt how convenient it is! And I don’t miss buttons!

The microphone, earpiece and music speaker, which is located at the back, are protected by a mesh. Above the screen in the upper right corner there is a front camera, a light sensor.

There is a notification indicator under the screen, which does not work when STAMINA mode is on. I will write about the mode later. No matter how trite it may sound, sometime in 2004 I had a Siemens M55 phone. When he received a call, missed calls and SMS, he had a red light indication on the sides. Therefore, the presence of the indicator in the smartphone is very pleasing!

  • Package

At the time of purchase, the phone was packed in an ordinary colorful box, on the front side there is a picture of the phone in white, and on the back side there are phones in three colors: black, purple and white. The package included a charger plug, a USB cable for charging and synchronization, a wired stereo headset without a clothespin, a start-up guide in 2 copies in Russian and foreign languages, a warranty card.

There is no user manual, but you can download it from the official website directly to your phone, and I advise you to read it right away, there are many interesting things written there.

You can also read how to open the phone cover in the manual. Opening for the first time was difficult for me, there are no visible holes to catch on. But when you get the hang of it, it opens easily. How I open it - watch the video:

Under the cover of the phone is a non-removable battery, two slots for micro-SIM-cards and a slot for a flash drive. I was immediately cut off in the salon ordinary SIM for a micro for 90 rubles each.

In addition, I purchased a 32 GB class 10 microSD card and a black book case.

  • Battery

Battery with a capacity of 2390 mAh, non-removable. From the first days of purchase, I used the phone at full capacity in order to reveal all the capabilities of the device. The phone can be charged for two days in intensive mode. At the same time, Wi-Fi (if at home) or mobile Internet (if at work) was constantly turned on, downloaded various applications, took photos and videos, sent MMS, and at the same time called and answered calls. After three weeks, the battery lasted for two and a half days. During these days I used only calls, SMS, Wi-Fi, photos, listened to music for about 2 hours a day, downloaded 5 songs and watched a cartoon, lasting 25 minutes, set up DLNA. I think this is a good indicator for the battery, considering that 2 SIM cards and a 5-inch screen are active. Almost 50% of the battery is occupied by communication with the network, so at night I turn on the Flight mode.

I want to offer some tips on how to extend the life of the battery. (My old Hazel still holds a charge for up to 3 days with active use.) The most important thing is to charge it correctly. Wait until the charge remains about 5%. Charge your phone fully. Do not use your phone while charging. Try to use your old phone to make calls (for the first three cycles). Wait until fully charged. Then you use the phone until the next 5% battery discharge. Avoid recharging your phone or connecting to a computer via a USB cable. And so three periods of discharge-charge. Yes, this is difficult to do when you have a brand new phone number, but believe that your patience will be justified in the future by the good battery life of your phone!

In this phone, I turned on the STAMINA mode. The principle of operation of the mode is that when the screen is off, the transmission of mobile data and Wi-Fi are disabled. You can add applications that will become active in standby mode when the mode is on. Has turned on the power saving mode. If the charge level is below 30%, this mode turns on automatically and energy saving settings take effect, which can also be adjusted.

If I do not use Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, mobile Internet or one of the SIM cards, then I turn them off. At night, I already wrote, I start the Flight mode. All settings for disabling-enabling can be displayed on the desktop for quick access (except for disabling the SIM card). For the SIM card in the first slot, I chose the preferred GSM network, and if I need mobile Internet, then I turn on 3G. Set up manual sync mode in apps used to sync email, calendar, and contacts. The brightness of the screen was set: "adjust according to the illumination", because in the sun when the brightness decreases, the data on the screen is difficult to see.

  • Screen and camera

5-inch TFT screen with 4-touch multitouch with a resolution of 960x540 pixels. The screen has great viewing angles and rich colors. I really like it, everything is bright and colorful!

In the bright sun, it is not very visible, but legible, if, as I already wrote, set "adjust according to illumination".

The front 0.3MP VGA digital camera can be used exclusively for Skype. The main one is 8 megapixels with a highly sensitive Exmor RS sensor, as written in the instructions. It is also said that, thanks to this sensor, it can take clear photos and videos even in low light conditions. As for the photo, such clear pictures can only be obtained during daylight hours. I even called Sony Mobile support. They advised doing a factory reset and reinstalling the update. After that, it became better, but still, in poor lighting, the clarity of objects in the distance is not enough! Pictures are taken with a resolution of 3264x2448.

Afternoon photo:

Photo under artificial lighting:

In low light, everything is also bright and beautiful, but the sharpness in some places leaves much to be desired. And if the hand twitches, everything is blurry.

Shooting in the evening:

But at night:

Capturing documents clearly.

In general, as anyone. As I already wrote, I have a camera, I don't take pictures at night, so the Xperia C camera suits me completely.

There is a flash and autofocus, HDR support.

Normal photo without flash:

Photos with HDR enabled:

When this function is enabled, pictures are brighter. It is not yet clear to me what this feature is good at.

You can select the main camera, front camera, camcorder or front camcorder, graphic effect, shooting conditions. There are functions of recognition of smiling faces (when you smile, the camera detects this and automatically takes a photo) and "self-portrait". A very convenient function for those who like to take pictures of themselves. The voice will tell you how you best get into the lens for a good photo. You can also select "two" and "two side by side". And if you turn on the face retouching mode, then in general you will look perfect in the photo (without pimples and wrinkles), then you will not have to Photoshop! In one of the test shots, the camera did retouch for my eyebrows and part of the bangs. But mostly it turns out well.

After shooting, you can edit the photo: crop, frame, change the background, put a mark, sign with printed text, and even draw or write something on it with your own hand!

Video can be shot at FullHD 1920 x 1080 resolution. Then you can watch it on TV in HD resolution. There are no delays or changes in sharpness (watch the video). You can select night mode and backlight, turn on the image stabilizer.

During video shooting, you can take pictures with the main and front cameras. The main camera is limited to 2 megapixels.

Sample video and photo while shooting video:

Video recording sound is average. You can also choose where to save photos and videos.

Video examples:

  • Music and sound

The sound is great thanks to the Walkman! Sound is clear and loud with bass (after firmware update). There are settings and additional technologies for improving sound. But you can control them if the ClearAudio + function is turned off. And if this function is enabled, then the sound adjustment will occur automatically. I would like to note that when ClearAudio + and Clear Phase are off, but the xLOUD function is on, the sound of the external speaker and the call sound becomes much louder. The TrackID application allows you to identify a melody by sound by searching for data via the Internet. To cut ringtones I downloaded the free Ringtone Slicer Beta application. Saves the cut melody directly to a USB flash drive, the melody can be set to a call, a contact melody, an alarm clock. There is also an FM radio that works with a headset connected. Reception is average. Additionally, I downloaded a free Internet PC radio application from the Play Store. I use it.

  • Telephone

Supports 2G GSM and 3G WCDMA networks. There is a Wi-Fi Direct mode, Bluetooth v 4.0, DLNA and USB (OTG), GPS / A-GPS - works great. Can be used as a navigator.

The phone supports two SIM cards. There is only one radio module, so there is only one conversation, the second SIM card becomes inaccessible. There is a Dual Sim setting. Call forwarding is set from one SIM to another in order to be always in touch. You can also set call forwarding yourself in the call settings and to other SIMs, for example, in another phone. In the settings of SIM-cards, you can set priorities separately for calls and for data transfer for each SIM. If you set calls and SMS from 1 SIM in the settings, then before each call the phone will not ask which SIM to call from, but will always call from the specified SIM. You can also set time priorities, for example, from 9 to 13, calls and SMS will be from 2 SIM, and data transfer from 1 SIM. The SIM switch is located in the top panel, it is shallow and not convenient to use, so I brought the icon to the desktop.

3G will be available only in the first slot, in the second only GPRS / EDGE. Therefore, it is best to insert a SIM into the first slot to work with the Internet. I set up the Internet for both slots to receive and send MMS. True, the automatic settings were not loaded, I had to configure it manually. The Sony Mobile hotline helped. Phone 8-800-100-80-22.

I transferred contacts from my old phone via Bluetooth. Selected all contacts - transfer using Bluetooth. And on Sony I just imported a file with contacts. Each contact can be assigned a melody, a picture, assign to a group, create a new group, send an SMS. In this case, melodies and pictures do not have to be moved to the phone's memory, everything is installed from a USB flash drive. The search for contacts is made both by numbers and by names. Contacts without phone numbers are displayed. An incoming call from a person can be rejected with an instant SMS message, for example, "I'll call you back." The lock key can be configured as the end of a conversation. It's convenient for me.

A contact can be marked as a favorite, and it will be displayed separately in the favorites.

You can also bring it to the desktop as a widget or shortcut.

SMS messages are displayed by conversations.

I chose the extended keyboard, where numbers and symbols are reflected.

I liked the function of voice typing of words. This is for those who do not like to write SMS - now you can slander them! If you dictate a sentence, and at the end you say "dot", then a dot is put. It happens, of course, instead of a dot, the word "dot" is written.

  • Software and performance

Operating system Google Android version 4.2.2. MediaTek MT6589 processor, 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex-A7, has 1GB of RAM and PowerVR SGX544MP graphics accelerator. Support for memory cards up to 32 GB.

The phone does not slow down. Music sways instantly:

Watching a movie online:

I did not play serious games, only the following:

There are seven desktops on the screen. Application icons on desktops can be added, selected and sorted to your liking, combined into created folders. You can remove shortcuts to unused applications from desktops. Applications can be moved to a USB flash drive (not all). Those applications that you do not need at all can be deleted in the settings. I clicked "remove updates". Of course, they did not disappear at all, the shortcuts remained, but the memory was freed, and the shortcuts were placed in one created folder so as not to interfere. I want to note right away: if you do not want unused applications to be constantly updated, in the Play Store settings, in auto-update, check the "never" checkbox. If an update of games and applications is released, the system will warn you, and you yourself will be able to update only the applications or games you need.

You can choose a desktop background, set live wallpapers (though they will drain the battery faster):

Apps can be downloaded directly or later moved to an SD card.

Separately, there is a history of the last used applications and a menu of small applications. The recorder is located here and you can take a screenshot. Also, a screenshot (you all, of course, know) can be made by simultaneously pressing and holding for 2 seconds. lock buttons and volume keys. Only one small application can be used on the main desktop.

Also, any free application you are interested in can be downloaded from the Play Store. I would never have thought that at my age I would be able to download talking Tom, feed him, dress him, change the interior in the living room, bedroom and, in addition, play the games offered in the application to earn money for a beautiful skin, etc. Even the most ridiculous.

On the top line of the screen there is a menu with quick access to switch SIM, sound / vibration / no ringing, turn on / off Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and settings. And also various alerts, downloads, etc. are displayed. This menu appears if you pull down the shutter with one finger.

If you swipe down from the top of the screen with two fingers, the shutter with the necessary tools will open.

What's not to like? Weaknesses, disadvantages.

I don't like the front camera, 0.3. On Skype, the picture is not very good quality, they could have made 2 or at least 1.3. But if someone does not use Skype, then the front camera is not needed at all. Self-portraits are not badly obtained from the main camera using the "self-portrait" function.

Non-removable battery.

The battery discharge immediately drops from 30% to 15%. The new update did not fix it. I'll wait for the next one. But such a rapid drop occurs when Wi-Fi is on.

Quiet sound when recording video. While I once again ruled my story, I discovered the reason for the recording of a quiet sound. It turns out that if you set the sound for the camera, multimedia and games to the full in the settings, then the sound of the recording will be loud enough. But if you entered the game and made the sound quieter, then it will automatically change in the camera, and if you do not increase it, the recording will be quiet.

In the phone book, contacts are displayed only with a name, there is not enough visibility of phone numbers.

Before the firmware was updated to version 16.0.B.2.6, there were some shortcomings, which were fixed after the update:

  • the proximity sensor worked constantly when you touch it on the screen. After the update, it works only when you call, or when you receive a call, when you bring the phone to your ear;
  • melodies set to a call or contact crashed when the phone was rebooted or connected to a computer. The same thing happened with the application icons installed on the desktop, which were installed on the USB flash drive, they also disappeared. In order not to re-configure the desktops, I transferred all applications to the device's memory. After the update, nothing disappears, the downloaded applications are immediately saved to the USB flash drive;
  • the sound in the headphones and the ringtone were quiet. After the update, the problem is resolved. The volume has increased significantly!

Just want to give advice. Update your phone immediately via your computer using the Sony PC Companion app. When you connect your phone to your computer via a USB cable, your phone will immediately ask you to install PC Companion on your computer. If already installed, then click skip. Follow the wizard's prompts. Once the application is installed, the program will offer to update your phone. Also follow the prompts according to the instructions, just do not turn off the phone so as not to interfere with the download and installation. I failed to update directly on the phone via Update Center. When checking for new updates on the phone via the Update Center, it is reported that the latest system updates are already installed on the device, but when connected to a computer, PC Companion immediately offered to update the phone. Important! Before updating, check that the battery charge is at least 50%!
