Some of the most affordable are the products of Lenovo, which presented an updated line of Tab 2 A series tablets at CES and MWC 2015. Appearance, screens and design of tablets
When developing a new series of tablets, Lenovo engineers pursued the goal of creating an inexpensive but solid device that would be convenient and pleasant to use. That is why the cases of all Tab 2 models are made of durable, non-slip and pleasant to the touch plastic. The assembly is thorough, nothing creaks anywhere.
The control buttons on the A7 and A8 models are on the right side, and the headphone and microSD jack is on the top. In the A10, the main orientation of which is not portrait, but landscape, all control buttons and ports are placed on the left side.
In terms of color variety, Lenovo offered the following solutions. The cheapest model Tab 2 A7-10 is available only in black, A7-30 - in black, white, blue and pink, A8 - white, pink and blue, A10 - white and blue.

All models are good for home use. In sunlight, the brightness has to be twisted completely. Especially the A7 suffers from this, for which the screen fades in the sun.
Hardware platforms and performance
All Lenovo Tab 2 tablets are built on the Mediatek hardware platform. Used quad-core solutions: MT8382M, MediaTek MT8161 (MT8735), MT8165 (MT873) for A7, A8 and A10, respectively. The graphics accelerator in all cases is Mali. The processors for the eight- and ten-inch tablet support a 64-bit instruction set. The chips, although budgetary, like all MediaTek products, are quite productive. This manufacturer is gaining popularity and its solutions are found not only in the products of leading Chinese brands like Lenovo, but also in Sony and HTC, which are the world's leading brands.
In the A8 and A10, depending on the modification, different "systems on a chip" are installed to ensure the lowest cost. In the model with LTE support, a chip is installed in which there is a 4G modem, in tablets with Wi-Fi - chips without a modem. MT8161 and MT8165 differ in performance: the former supports only HD screens, while the MT8165 in the A10 is designed for Full HD. All in all, Lenovo has carefully selected processors that are perfectly matched to other components. Exactly as much as necessary - no more and no less.
The RAM in the seven- and eight-inch models was supplied with 1 GB each, in the top model of the line, A10 - 2 GB. In fact, for the first two models, they left the minimum, which allows you to work normally on current versions of Android OS. Everything is better in the A10 with RAM, 2 GB seems to be the optimal solution today. Moreover, 3 GB is actually installed only in the flagship models of tablets and smartphones.
LTE tablet models A8 and A10 are equipped with modems that support dual SIM. Moreover, the slots for SIM-cards in these tablets are also 2. There is also support for calls. If you wish, you can use these "pills" as very large phablets.
User memory in the A7 and A8 models can be 8 or 16 GB, depending on the modification. The A10 has 16 GB of memory. In any case, this is not enough for storing multimedia data. Requires microSD card. All Lenovo Tab 2 models support cards up to 32GB.
It is impossible to ignore the object of pride of Lenovo engineers - the Dolby Atmos sound path, certified according to the norms of this strict standard. In the A7, the work of this path is noticeable only in headphones. But in the A8 and A10, equipped with two speakers, the careful work on the sound is noticeable already when using them. Everything sounds great in headphones. Of course, the sound quality is a subjective opinion, but it should be noted that Lenovo approaches this issue even more thoroughly than Samsung.
Operating system and interface
Lenovo Tab 2 A7 comes with Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed, the rest of the tablets come with Android 5.0. In any case, the operating system is reliably hidden behind Lenovo's proprietary user interface. There is nothing special in it, it is easy to figure out the principle of operation and control. The interface works smartly, no lags or freezes are observed.
Lenovo engineers and programmers took care of customers and pre-installed their suite of applications for data transfer, virus protection and backup. You cannot officially get rid of it, you can only uninstall applications by installing a third-party firmware. Basically, Lenovo's ones are not that bad, but Google Play offers other solutions, among which you can find something more convenient.
Cameras
The Lenovo Tab 2 A7 has a review of the cameras only so that the manufacturer can report that they are. The A7-10 is equipped with a 0.3 megapixel front camera, which is sufficient only for video calls. The A7-30 also received a rear-facing camera. But its resolution is only 2 megapixels and it is not possible to take normal photos.
Lenovo Tab 2 A8 and A10 do better with this point. A8 is equipped with a main camera with autofocus and a 5 megapixel sensor. The front camera has a resolution of 2 megapixels. This is already good, you can take good daytime photos. The A10 is still better: the front camera is equipped with a 5 megapixel matrix, the main one is 8 megapixels. This allows you to take pictures with quite acceptable quality, including selfies, if you have a desire to use the tablet for such shooting.
Batteries and battery life
The capacities of the Lenovo Tab 2 batteries are as follows: A7 - 3450 mAh, A8 - 4200 mAh, A10 - 7000 mAh. The built-in drive has a fairly high sequential read speed, comparable to more expensive devices, but the rest of the attributes (sequential write, working with 4K blocks) barely reach modern standards. Fortunately, in reality, there is no need to complain about memory: applications open quickly enough, and Android does not take much time to launch. Please note that only 10.5 GB is free in the 16 GB version - it makes sense to pay extra for the 32 GB model, especially since it does not cost much more.
Screen quality and price are two of the most important features of a tablet. There is no shortage of expensive high-end tablets on the market with great displays, however, with similar impressive screens, they are virtually unavailable. In games where I need two thumbs on the screen, the Lenovo tablet felt bulky and difficult to navigate. This won't be a problem in one-handed games like Angry Birds. Indeed, a large screen can be quite useful. Overall, I was not disappointed with its gaming performance, however its size and substantial weight may make your experience less enjoyable than I would like.
The Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L offers a screen resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. It's not the sharpest resolution for a tablet, but it's a very serious resolution for a tablet in this price range. HD video looks crisp and detailed with very clear images. Colors on the screen look accurate and rich enough for vivid images, but not oversaturated - as on the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7. Compared to the Kidle HD 10, Amazon's tablet screen is dull, lacking in color and sharpness. Lenovo's 10-inch tablet screen also offers really deep blacks, unlike the competition, however both fall short when it comes to brightness.
While tablets have traditionally neglected speakers, as a result, they have encouraged alternative use of headphones, but Lenovo tablets have ignored the trend. A small drawback - the power button could be made more comfortable to press, although this is not critical.
The headphone jack is on the top - I don't know who is comfortable with that.

Weight, I wish it was a bit lighter
- the glass of the screen collects prints well.
- the wi-fi module is rather weak, where others seem to be confidently catching the network, this tablet periodically loses it, but somehow not always. In general, it is not unambiguous with wifa, you need to look at it individually.
- the power button and volume rocker would probably be better on the right. For some reason, the hand always tries to press on the right.
All of these disadvantages are rather arbitrary and not critical.

The first thing that caught my eye was the disgusting color rendition in games - red and yellow. You can get used to it. The built-in Miravision program does not adjust, everything remains disgustingly yellow-red-warm
- on the fifth android, wifi freezes and is treated by turning it on and off. Doesn't bother.
- infuriatingly tight buttons, clearly not made for people.
- the screen is not glass, but definitely hard plastic and not so good, but better than it was in old tablets
- there are simply no connectors - headphones and MicroUSB
