Asus zenfone 2 laser ze500kl camera review. Appearance, arrangement of elements

The lid is removable, but removing it is not an easy task. You need to pry it with your fingernail in the groove provided by the manufacturer, then near the microUSB port, and only now it will be possible to open it with tangible efforts. In its place, it sits efficiently, there is no backlash even with strong pressure.

The keys have a clear stroke. Asus Zenfone 2 Laser ze500kg review showed that when talking, the finger rests clearly on the volume control swing, due to which it will be easy to make the interlocutor's voice louder or quieter. But when you watch a video, the situation is completely different, you have to turn the case, adjust the volume, and then return it to the opposite position. Using the power button is not always convenient, it will be easier to remove the screen from the lock by double tapping.

The Asus Zenfone 2 Laser has a 5-inch TFT IPS screen with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. A good quality oleophobic coating is applied to its surface. Gorilla Glass 4 is used as a protective glass. The brightness reserve is not enough - from 21 to 329 cd / m2, which makes it almost impossible to work in the sun. The pixel density is low - 294 ppi, when viewed at close range, you can notice a slight graininess.

Uses a capacitive sensor that supports up to 10 touches. Asus Zenfone 2 Laser ze601kl 32gb review showed that the sensitivity of the wheel is high, it responds clearly even to light touches.

The manufacturer has provided several modes for the color temperature of the display and the ability to adjust the contrast using the Splendid software. Thus, you can improve the already high-quality picture.

Performance Asus Zenfone 2 Laser

Asus Zenfone 2 Laser ze500kl specifications are built on the budget Snapdragon 410 chip paired with the Adreno 306 video accelerator. The processor is based on four Cortex-A53 cores with a frequency of up to 1.2 GHz. It immediately becomes clear that the device is clearly not designed for games. RAM - only 2 GB, and after switching on, no more than 900 MB remains free.

Results of synthetic tests Asus Zenfone 2 Laser

Built-in can be 8 or 16 GB, of course it is better to give preference to the latest modification. 8 GB is just a few movies, it would be simply unrealistic to do without a memory card, which fortunately can be installed to expand the volume. The younger version has so little memory that sometimes it is not even possible to install updates. The fact is that a lot of space is occupied by pre-installed applications, which can be removed only after obtaining Root rights.

The Asus Zenfone 2 Laser performed very poorly in synthetic tests, which is to be expected. The gadget is clearly not for games, the power is enough only for everyday tasks, such as chatting on social networks, watching movies and web browsing.

Autonomy

Asus Zenfone 2 Laser 8gb review revealed excellent battery life, the manufacturer managed to squeeze the maximum out of the 2400 mAh battery. This is where the weak filling makes itself felt, which consumes a little energy as you work with the phone. So, for an hour of photography, about 11% of the charge goes away, when watching HD videos at maximum brightness from the device's memory, the battery lasted for 12 hours. In games, we see not the worst picture - after 5 hours of playing Asphalt 8 at medium brightness, there is still 60% of the charge left.

Wireless communications

A full review of the Asus Zenfone 2 Laserr ze500kl showed that the device received support for Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz b / g / n, Bluetooth 4 generation, and GPS. Satellites are quickly discovered even without a mobile network connection. There is support for 3.5G networks.

Sound

The earpiece speaker works well, the voice is transmitted clearly and without distortion. The interlocutor will also be pleased to talk to you, which is facilitated by the high-quality operation of the noise reduction system. The external speaker sounds loud, but the quality does not leave the best impression. It is not above average.

Interface

Asus Zenfone 2 Laser ze550kl 16gb review demonstrates that it works out of the box on Android 5.1.1. with its own ZenUI shell. There is a possibility of flexible configuration of the interface. You can hide apps, enable smart folder sorting, change the grid size, disable menus to keep all items on the desktop, and more. The system works smoothly and stably, so many thanks can be said to the manufacturer for it.

Asus Zenfone 2 Laser camera review

The younger version is equipped with an 8 megapixel main camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. In the older one, everything is slightly better - 13 Mp in the case of the main module. Asus Zenfone 2 Laser lte camera review showed that it can record videos in FullHD quality.

The interface of the Camera application has a large number of modes and settings. There is also a night mode, which improves the quality of night shots, albeit slightly. The manual mode deserves a special mention, where you can set the white balance in the range from 2500K to 6500K, exposure parameters, ISO, shutter speed 1/1000 to 32s and focus.

Asus Zenfon 2 Laser review revealed that the smartphone uses laser focusing, which works smartly. But there is not much difference with phase focusing, this is more of a subtle marketing ploy. In general, the pictures are not bad, but only in the price category of the device. It cannot be compared with flagships.

Output

The Asus Zenfone 2 Laser doesn't have the best hardware, so you shouldn't consider it as an inexpensive gaming device. But for an ordinary user, this will be enough - good battery life, high-quality, albeit not ideal screen (low resolution and brightness margin), user-friendly interface, good photographic capabilities. The disadvantages include a weak filling, because of which you can forget about games.

Where could I buy?

Your rating for a smartphone:

Most of the well-known smartphone manufacturers have already released their new flagship devices this year. However, since most of the devices are mid-range, it is important to consider also phones that have a low price tag.

Hardware specifications and packaging

The Asus ZenFone 2 Lazer ZE500KL 16Gb smartphone comes in a typical ASUS branded packaging, in a glossy box that has an image of the smartphone on the top side and an indication of its main features printed on the bottom and sides. The sliding lid comes off quite easily, and inside you will find the smartphone sits on top of a cardboard tray.

Inside the package, along with the new gadget, you will find the following: charger and data cable, power charger, warranty and instructions for use.

ASUS offers 6 color options for the Asus ZenFone 2 Lazer ZE500KL 16Gb LTE: Black, Gold, Gray, Red, White and Purple.

Specifications

The ZenFone 2 (ZE500KL) has an interesting 5.0-inch IPS LCD display with HD 1280x720 resolution and 294 ppi pixel density. This smartphone is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, namely the Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8916 410. This processor is equipped with an integrated Adreno 306 video chip (450 MHz), which supports OpenGL ES 3.0 and all the features of unified shaders. In addition, the device has 2GB of RAM.

In terms of storage devices, the ZenFone 2 has 16GB of internal storage, of which only 10GB can be used as intended. However, this is not a problem as you can use microSD cards up to 128GB. The battery life of this smartphone is provided by a well-balanced 2070 mAh removable lithium-polymer battery.

The main camera is manufactured by Toshiba and has 13 megapixels, 5 lens elements, autofocus, dual LED flash, laser focusing technology and HDR capabilities, while it has a resolution of 5 megapixels.

Speaking of connectivity, the Asus ZenFone 2 Lazer ZE500KL 16Gb (which reviews are generally positive) includes a MicroUSB 2.0 port, a Bluetooth 4.0 chip, and a wireless network using 802.11 A / B / G / N / AC standards. In terms of wireless support, you will be able to connect to Wi-Fi networks with a frequency of 2.44 to 5 GHz. The ASUS ZE500KL functionality also offers the ability to use two SIM cards at the same time, but only one of them supports 4G mobile networks (LTE and HSPA +). The second SIM will only offer 2G connectivity.

Dimensions

The Asus ZenFone 2 Lazer ZE500KL 16Gb smartphone is 143.7 mm high and 71.5 mm wide. The thickness of the device ranges from approximately 3.5 mm to 10.5 mm due to the curved back, which has a bulky middle and very thin edges. These dimensions of the device provide it with a very small weight - only 140 grams.

Design and build quality

The Asus ZenFone 2 Lazer ZE500KL 16Gb, reviews of which mainly relate to its appearance, copies the design of its predecessor - TheZenFone 2 ZE551ML. The 5.65-inch bezel in this device is made of high quality plastic and has a matte metallic sheen on the lower front. This makes the smartphone really stand out and gives the impression of a premium gadget. That said, it would be much better if this metallic finish continued all the way to the top bezel.

ASUS developers have paid a lot of attention to ergonomics. First of all, this is manifested in the fact that 70.8% of the front surface is occupied by the screen. This speaks to the fact that the Asus ZenFone 2 Lazer ZE500KL 16Gb White does not have large unused areas.

The top edge of the smartphone has a power button that is easy to reach using the device with one hand. Next to it, you will find an audio jack for headphones.

The bottom edge houses a micro-USB connector that allows you to easily transfer content between the Asus ZenFone 2 Lazer ZE500KL 16Gb Black and your computer.

Control

On the bottom edge, just above the front brushed metal trim, you'll find three capacitive buttons that make it easy to access and use Android functionality: Home, Back, and Last App. These physical buttons work flawlessly and their backlighting looks pretty nice.

One of the most interesting features of the new Asus ZenFone 2 Lazer ZE500KL 16Gb Red is the volume settings. The corresponding button is located on the back plate of the smartphone, under the main camera. ASUS made this change for ergonomics, as the thin sides of the device could not accommodate any serious buttons. Nevertheless, this is a good solution, since it only adds convenience to the use of the gadget. Plus, since there are no side buttons on the device, you don't have to worry about accidentally pressing one of them while holding it in your hands.

Ergonomic principles are also evident in the curved rear panel, which takes up most of the volume in the middle of the smartphone. This design feature, together with thin edges, makes it easy to hold the device in your hands. The matte finish on the back also helps to grip the phone without slipping.

Screen

It is worth noting that regarding the Asus ZenFone 2 Lazer ZE500KL 16Gb, reviews often mention the device's screen - a 5-inch display with HD 1280x720 resolution and a pixel density of 294 dpi. Since its design uses an IPS panel in the screen, it offers great contrast, wide viewing angles and of course good color saturation. This also means you can easily use the ZenFone 2 indoors and outdoors, even in direct sunlight. User reviews of the screen usability are very numerous - not every device can be used in all conditions without losing image quality.

Connections and communication

In terms of connectivity, the Asus ZenFone 2 Lazer 16Gb 5 ZE500KL works well with 4G mobile networks and the radio signal is quite stable. This allows for high quality communication. According to user reviews, the voice of the interlocutor is heard very well during a telephone conversation.

Sound

When it comes to sound quality when listening to music or watching movies, the Asus ZenFone 2 Lazer ZE500KL 16Gb w3bsit3-dns.com will not disappoint you. You can immediately verify that the rear speaker offers well-calibrated sound without distortion. As mentioned earlier, the smartphone has a 3.5 mm jack on the top edge, but unfortunately, no headphones are included.

Platform and interface

The Asus ZenFone 2 Lazer ZE500KL 16Gb (Gold and other models) runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with the ASUS Zen UI on top of the platform. As you know, the Zen interface is used on all Android smartphones made by ASUS and offers many additional features that enhance the functionality of the standard Android operating system. Moreover, this beautifully customized one includes a large number of pre-installed apps to help you with many tasks.

Zen UI: useful services

  • ASUS Support - Provides Zen UI information and support for any smartphone-related issue.
  • MyASUS - Access to 24/7 ASUS support.
  • AudioWizard - Allows you to personalize your audio settings.
  • Data Transfer - helps you connect ZenFone 2 to older phones that have Bluetooth.
  • Do It Later - helps you create and organize daily tasks, reminders, notes and other planning tools.
  • Kids Mode is a great app to help parents control what kids can access on their smartphone.
  • Mini Movie - the ability to create movies from photos saved on your smartphone, which can then be posted on the Internet.
  • Share Link is an application that helps you transfer files between your smartphone and computer without the need for a mobile connection.
  • Splendid - Personalized settings for the IPS panel.
  • Zen Circle is a social network that works by sharing videos created on a smartphone.
  • ZenMotion is a touch control setting that allows you to open many applications from the locked screen, customize the interface for use from one side and other useful features.
  • ZenTalk is a forum dedicated to all ZenFone owners, where discussions can be very helpful.

Another UI related feature of Zen worth mentioning is its Lockscreen. Its minimalist design is customizable, and you can choose from a series of shortcuts that send you directly to your designated apps. By default, the lock screen contains shortcuts for the camera, phone, and messages.

Battery

The 2070mAh battery will allow you to use the Asus ZenFone 2 Lazer ZE500KL 16Gb smartphone (whose short-lived reviews were somewhat disappointing) for 10-12 hours with moderate use and 6-7 hours with intensive mode. The device can be used for a day or more if you set the brightness to 50%, and then make short calls, send a few messages or occasionally check your email. As with all other smartphones, battery life depends on your personal habits.

Camera

The main camera on the ASUS ZE500KL has 13 megapixels and uses Toshiba's PixelMaster sensor. It comes equipped with laser autofocus, which allows for a focusing time of just 0.3 seconds (this feature was also available on the flagship ZenFone 2). The camera works great and when shooting at close range, if you place the lens 5 cm from the subject, you get excellent macro photography. As follows from user reviews, this device can take pictures with a maximum resolution of 4096x3072 pixels.

However, image clouding is noticeable in low light conditions. ASUS is trying to solve this problem with low light mode, which manages to eliminate interference, but it also reduces the sharpness of details. To help you in these situations, we have found that the dual LED flash can reduce noise.

At the same time, the dual-LED flash ensures accurate color reproduction and especially skin tone for portrait photography. It is also worth mentioning that the Asus ZenFone 2 Lazer ZE500KL 16Gb (black and other color options) offers a number of camera features that are not available in most mid-range smartphones. First of all, this is the presence of a manual mode, a GIF mode, a timer, simultaneous shooting of several frames (the camera captures several images from which you can choose the best one), the Selfie option (allows you to use the rear camera for self-portrait), a mini-mode (blurs the subject's environment ), HDR and others.

The 5MP front camera will help you take many great selfies that will make you look good thanks to the effects and settings available.

Asus ZenFone 2 Lazer ZE500KL 16Gb - Specs and Verdict

As the above review shows, it is a mid-range smartphone with excellent specifications. Its functionality will keep you from playing the most demanding games available on Google Play, but it is sure to satisfy all the needs of the average user.

With an energy efficient processor and built-in Asus' proprietary PowerSaving, battery life is significantly extended.

Software

The new Asus Zenfone 2 Laser has adequately occupied a niche in the line of budget smartphones.

She perfectly combined good quality, performance, bright design, attractiveness and just good usability.

The current model is suitable for both beginners and experienced users. Everyone will find in it something special for themselves.

There are no significant drawbacks here, except for the inconvenience of the location of the volume button. But this small, ill-conceived part by the manufacturer still does not cover all the positive qualities of the Asus Zenfone 2 Laser.

Since its inception, the smartphone is still relevant and in demand in the modern mobile technology market.

For a snack, a couple of video reviews:

A rare manufacturer is limited to the release of a new generation of smartphones in one or two modifications. Usually, these are several devices at once, in which the emphasis is on different parameters. The Asus Zenfone 2 Laser is a phone for people who love to take photos. The main feature of the device lies precisely in the photographic capabilities, and more details about them are described in the review in the Asus Zenfone 2 Laser (ze500kl).

The characteristics of the Asus Zenfone 2 Laser are quite typical, and no one was going to surprise the user with them. The emphasis is on the photo, it was with this parameter that the phone was supposed to win the love of the public.

The model for its time has good memory... At the time of the announcement, a device with 16Gb of memory was presented, a bit later a modification with 32Gb was released. You can also put a 128Gb memory card, there is a separate slot for it.

Appearance

The Asus Zenfone 2 Laser ze500kl smartphone is a typical candy bar with a plastic case and glass on the front panel... The cover is removable, you can change the battery, there are connectors for two SIM cards and for a memory card. On the front panel there are 3 touch buttons under the screen. Above it is a speaker, Asus inscription, camera, proximity and light sensor.

There is a camera on the back. There is a flash on either side of her and laser focus peephole... The volume control button is located here, which, according to reviews, is not very convenient. At the bottom of the back panel is a second speaker. This is also not the most logical decision, since when listening to music, the sound goes to the table, and the phone will have to be put on the display.

Top end - power button, microphone, headset jack. Bottom - microUSB, speaker. The assembly is high-quality, the back cover is convex, metal relief... It carries not only aesthetic value, but also makes the device non-slippery.

Asus Zenfon 2 laser ze500kl display is created using IPS technology, there is an air gap... From this the color rendition is a little lame, although the colors themselves are quite natural, but not bright enough. The viewing angles are very high, there is no distortion. Display protected durable 4th generation Gorilla Glass with good oleophobic and anti-reflective layer... The sensor recognizes up to 10 clicks. The brightness is at an average level, sometimes it may not be enough. The resolution is HD, for a 5-inch screen this is more than normal and no pixels are noticeable. The matrix is \u200b\u200bworthy of a phone from the middle price segment, there are no complaints about its work.

Capabilities

The Asus Zenfone 2 Laser ze500kl is powered by a cheaper processor than the regular two. It uses a chip from Intel, in this device Qualcomm was the manufacturer. You can compare this device in terms of work with the younger version of Zenfone 2 on a less productive Intel processor. That is, the device is capable of playing games and launching heavy tasks, but sometimes it slows down a little. You can avoid this by setting medium settings.

2 gigabytes of RAM was enough for a device released in 2015, as well as a native memory of 16 gigabytes. Phone average in performance, but at the same time in the tests it takes the last places with 20 thousand points. In general, this is not critical, since the phone is evaluated according to real work, and not indicators in artificial tests.

Important! The model has two radio modules, that is, both SIM cards can work simultaneously. Navigation systems are not the fastest, it will take about 16 seconds to connect to satellites. There is support for LTE, as well as a dual Wi-Fi antenna.

The battery of the smartphone has a capacity of 2400 mAh, according to reviews, with average loads the device lives up to two days... The indicator is very decent. 5 hours of playing took only 40% of the battery, the video can be watched for 12 hours. It is difficult to say what influenced such battery survivability, but most likely the matter is energy efficient processor... In terms of autonomy, the phone gets a confident five.

The Asus Zenfone 2 laser is a device with enhanced photography capabilities. The main camera has a resolution of 13 megapixels, a selfie module is 5 megapixels. At first glance, the indicators are not the best, but the whole trick here is laser autofocus. It instantly finds the desired subject, selects the exposure, and the shutter response time after pressing the capture button is calculated in seconds. It is important not to close the laser eye which is located near the camera. The device shoots well at night.

On a note! An interesting feature of the device is the smart delete function. When the camera focuses on a subject, it automatically removes any unnecessary and moving objects that obstruct the main subject.

The phone has many shooting options, from fully automated to manual professional settings. The device shoots video in FHD format. Shooting with the front camera also gives good pictures, and there are no questions for it. The manufacturer promised a good camera and made it.

Conclusion

Zenfone 2 Laser is a very interesting device with a low price tag. The cost at the time of release was only 11 thousand rubles, while the camera is better here than in many expensive devices. The same can be said for autonomy. The phone may not be fast enough, but it was not assigned such tasks. If you add a good design and a matrix to these advantages, you get a great phone for little money.

The ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser ZE500KL smartphone is a simplified version of the ZE550KL, featuring a smaller display diagonal, less RAM and a smaller battery. However, the device deserves special attention, and, first of all, it is interesting for the presence of laser focusing, which was previously the lot of much more expensive smartphones. Sales started in the fall of 2015, and at the time of writing the review, the approximate cost of a smartphone is $ 185 and above for the version with 16 GB of memory. The younger version with 8 GB on sale is very problematic to find.

ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser is available in multiple color options. The design is sleek and eye-catching. The lower part of the case on the front side has a gradient iridescent pattern structure. The body is made of plastic, the back surface of which has a bulge in the middle, gradually tapering towards the edges. Thus, at the edges, the thickness of the case is only 3.5 mm. The cover is textured like a metal, non-slip. It is worth noting the non-standard arrangement of the volume swing, which may seem inconvenient, but in most cases this is a matter of habit.

Specifications ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser ZE500KL

The smartphone has not top-end, but very decent technical stuffing.

CPU

Good performance is provided by the 4-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 MSM8916 (1.2 GHz). The Adreno 306 video chip cannot boast of special performance, however, in alliance with the processor and sufficient RAM, the smartphone does an excellent job with the tasks, be it surfing the Internet, working with applications, etc. The interface works smartly, but resource-demanding games run well only on medium graphics settings. For this level of the device, this is quite enough.

Memory

Smartphones come with 8 and 16 GB of main memory, and since the younger version is uncommon, 16 GB is quite a solid amount of storage. This is more than enough for games, applications, and even custom content. Additionally, there is a slot for microSD, which supports memory cards up to 128 GB.

RAM is 2 GB here. Firstly, it emphasizes the middle class of the device, and secondly, this amount of RAM is more than enough for fast and stable operation of the smartphone.

Autonomous work

The 2070 and 2400 mAh batteries are installed in the junior and senior versions, respectively. Since in this review we are mainly talking about the older version, let's consider what a 2400 mAh battery is capable of. Either this is due to the optimization of the software and hardware, or the battery is of such high quality - but the user can count on the device to work for two days, with a normal, average load. For 1 hour of using the camera to take a photo, the charge level will decrease by only 11%. The battery will last for 12 hours of continuous video viewing at maximum brightness, and with the network modules turned off. The battery life when gaming is impressive. After playing for five hours in Asphalt 8, there is still 60% charge, given that data transfer was turned on.

Camera

The main feature of the ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser is its 13-megapixel laser focusing camera. The advantage of this solution is instant (0.2 s) focusing on the necessary objects, as well as the ability to get a better photo in unfavorable shooting conditions. The camera interface is replete with an abundance of settings, the ability to select different modes, even manual adjustment of shutter speed and aperture is available. The camera sensor from Toshiba has a 5-element Largan lens, with an f / 2.0 aperture, and a two-tone flash.

This is not to say that the pictures are perfect, but most users claim that they are completely satisfied with the photo quality. Especially good results are obtained in daylight in sunny weather. Contrary to expectations, night shots are not impressive.

The 5MP front module does a good job of shooting close-up subjects, such as self-portraits. The picture may be slightly blurred.

Display

The 5-inch TFT IPS display leaves a positive impression: maximum viewing angles, a decent margin of brightness, rich color gamut. The display is protected by reinforced Gorilla Glass 4. Easy control of the sensor and the ability to quickly get rid of traces of use (prints) is provided due to the high-quality oleophobic coating. Thanks to the Splendid function, you can change the color "temperature" of the image.

Network communications

The smartphone has support for 2 SIM, and works in 2G / 3G / 4G LTE networks. We should also mention the GPS module. The satellites are found quickly even when first turned on (3 satellites in 16 seconds), and this does not require an internet connection. There is support for the GLONASS satellite navigation system. Various peripherals (keyboards, mice, flash drives, and even hard drives with additional power) are easily recognized by a smartphone thanks to USB OTG.

Sound

The smartphone has a high-quality main and earpiece speaker. The sound is loud, does not contain extraneous noise and squeaks. The call is heard well, just like the interlocutor during a telephone conversation. High-quality headphones will sound appropriate.

Software

The smartphone runs on Android 5.0.2 OS with ZenUI proprietary shell. The shell expands the functionality, adding such features as themes and fonts, smartphone control using gestures, "child mode", and much more. Much attention has been paid to the software part, so the system works stably. The software is constantly being improved and updated, therefore, when buying an ASUS smartphone, you can be sure of its further support.

  • Laser autofocus;
  • The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 4;
  • Attractive design, several body colors;
  • Decent amount of RAM and main memory: 2/16 GB;
